CHAPTER 2: FIRST DAYS

A few months had passed since Aegon was born in this world, and he had also gotten used to the feeling of losing someone. The love his Grandpa and Aunt gave him was more than enough to cover that loss.

Although he could see that they were also grieving over his grandmother’s death, Aegon knew his presence was helping them a lot. Whenever he was around, they would smile more, and the aura of depression around them also faded away.

It was subtle, but Aegon was surely helping them get over her death, just like they were doing the same for him. And he was genuinely very happy that he could do that.

Currently, that same Aunt Xiu was gently putting him in a cradle as she said, "Rest well, little sun. I’ll go and bring some toys for you."

After that incident at his birth, Arnold had brought him and Xiu somewhere else, and since then, Aegon had been living quite a monotonous life.

But he was fine with it. He had a strange mutated blood in his previous life which could cure a lot of diseases, including cancer, so from the moment he was born, he had been put in the hospital.

His parents quickly gave up on him since, along with that blood, came a terrible disease which required astronomical amounts of money just to sustain his life.

Fortunately, the hospital and government took care of him in exchange for his blood. By the age of fifteen, he had never even once left the hospital. He spent all his days reading novels, binge-watching shows and anime, and doing a lot of indoor activities as long as they didn’t put strain on his body.

When he was going to turn sixteen, his doctor said he was going to do the last surgery, and then Aegon would be free. He was very excited since that had been his dream all his life.

He wanted to go outside the hospital and explore the world, so he readily agreed to the surgery. Who knew what kind of surgery it was, but it was definitely his last surgery.

’Perhaps they found a way to multiply the specialness of my blood and squeezed out every last bit of blood in me.’

Because of his previous life, Aegon was quite used to living in a cage-like environment, and his new life was different.

The only problem was that he couldn’t do anything like reading webnovels or anything. And the benefit was the love he received from his grandpa and aunt.

So, it could be said that even with his boring life, he was very happy with it.

It was one of those days when he was playing in his grandfather’s study. He crawled towards his desk and thought of seeing if he could understand anything in the book.

After all, he was able to understand people for some reason even though he didn’t know the language, so maybe he could even read the language.

He rubbed his soft, small hands before him and then signed in.

He thought about the reward and decided to risk it this time. He hadn’t taken out other rewards from his inventory for very simple reasons.

For the majority of the rewards, he didn’t really need them, so there was no point in taking them out. As for the others, it was because he knew nothing about this fantasy world or its power system.

What if that Holy Body that sounded so dope was actually some very high-level thing and killed him while he was assimilating with it?
