365 Days of Rejected Proposal: CEO's Rebellious Pet
Chapter 39: Jenson Forrest, I’m Really Pregnant
CHAPTER 39: CHAPTER 39: JENSON FORREST, I’M REALLY PREGNANT
BANG!
Crystal Sutton called Jenson three times, but no one answered.
Thinking about what they were doing right now, she couldn’t resist smashing her phone against the wall.
She left The Imperial Court and even went upstairs to the hotel to look around. She used some of her connections but found no record of Jenson and Zinnia booking a room.
So, did Zinnia follow Jenson back to Sovereign Court? Weren’t they supposed to be getting a divorce? Why did she go back? She’s such a bitch!
Remembering the intimate sounds she had heard on her phone, just imagining how heated it must have been made Crystal so jealous she wanted to scream.
No way! I absolutely can’t just give up like this! How can a fake heiress like Zinnia get all of this!
「...」
While Crystal Sutton was in a fit of impotent rage, Zinnia Lawrence had already fallen into a deep sleep from exhaustion.
When she woke up the next day, she moved slightly. The silk sheets brushed against her even silkier skin, and the feeling of being naked made memories of last night flood back in an instant.
The image of the man on top of her, sweat pouring down his sexy body, flashed before her eyes. Zinnia’s face reddened, and she felt a bit dazed.
They had done it three times last night. For the last two, Jenson Forrest hadn’t bothered to cover her eyes.
They had been married for two years, and he had never been willing to kiss her. Even when they were doing the most intimate of acts, he refused to face her.
But last night, not only did he kiss her, but it was as if he had become addicted to it. Even his behavior in bed was different...
No matter how much Zinnia tried not to, she couldn’t help but let her thoughts run wild. He’d never been like this before. He didn’t even sleep in the same room as me at night.
She forced herself to stop overthinking and leaned over to grab her phone. It was almost eight o’clock.
There was a message from Yara Fairchild on WeChat. Zinnia quickly replied with an emoji, and Yara called her immediately.
"Zinnia, why didn’t you come back last night? Also, did you see the news on Weibo?"
Embarrassed to say she had gone back with Jenson, and still feeling completely muddled about last night’s events, Zinnia instinctively hid the truth from Yara.
"Oh, I stayed at the hospital for the night. What’s going on online?"
Mason Lawrence had almost been in an accident, so it was perfectly normal for Zinnia to stay at the hospital out of concern. Yara didn’t suspect a thing.
"Some blogger on Weibo exposed that Jenson was fooling around at a bar last night. They said he even publicly kissed some hot girl on stage and posted a blurry photo. I’m pretty sure it’s that dog Forrest. Crystal Sutton just responded, too. You should go take a look. When is That dog Forrest finally going to register your marriage? If this drags on, the whole world will know he’s cheating on you."
Zinnia was speechless.
She had just lied to Yara, and now she didn’t dare tell her that the "hot girl" might have been her.
She hung up the phone. Just as she was about to check Weibo to see what kind of drama Crystal was stirring up, the bedroom door opened, and Jenson walked in carrying a tray.
Zinnia instinctively sat up, pulling the quilt tighter to cover her body.
"What are you covering up for? I was the one who cleaned you last night."
She wouldn’t have even noticed if he hadn’t mentioned it.
She had fallen asleep from pure exhaustion. Her body was now clean and dry, which was clearly Jenson’s doing.
Zinnia’s face flushed. A mix of shyness and sweetness surged through her, and her heart began to race wildly.
Jenson walked to the bedside. Seeing her bashful expression, he placed the tray on the nightstand and leaned over.
"Aren’t you going to thank me?"
Zinnia looked up and glared at him reproachfully. "How could you..."
As she spoke, she noticed her voice was a little hoarse and shyly closed her mouth.
A slight curve appeared on Jenson’s thin lips as he handed her the glass of water from the tray.
"You moaned all night. That must have been tiring. Wet your throat."
The heat rose in Zinnia’s face again. She wanted to hit him.
She took the glass and drank a few sips to soothe her dry throat. Then, Jenson handed her something else.
"Take the medicine, too."
Zinnia saw the small pill he held between his fingers. It felt like a sudden slap across the face, and for a moment, her blood ran cold.
It was a contraceptive pill.
"We ran out of condoms. I’ll be more careful next time."
Seeing that she wasn’t taking it, Jenson reached out and gently ruffled her hair, his voice tinged with apology.
The condoms in the drawer had been thrown out after Katherine Rhodes tampered with them. There had been a backup supply in the dressing room, but those were also thrown away the last time Crystal visited.
Zinnia hadn’t been back for days, so he had forgotten to buy more. That was why they hadn’t used any protection last night.
Zinnia took the pill from his hand, looked up at him, and suddenly smiled.
"You’re that scared of me getting pregnant? You’d better be extra careful next time. Why not use two condoms? You should even spread a layer of cooling oil between them. That way, if the inner one breaks, I’ll know, and if the outer one breaks, you’ll know. Only then will it be safe enough."
Jenson frowned, displeased. "Zinnia!"
Zinnia’s expression turned cold. "What if I really get pregnant?"
After asking this, her heart clenched painfully. Jenson Forrest, I beg you, don’t disappoint me. Our baby is listening, too.
However, the man’s handsome face had already turned to ice.
"So be a good girl and take the pill. Then you won’t get pregnant!"
"No method is foolproof. What if it happens anyway?" Zinnia clutched the water glass tighter.
Jenson clearly disliked this topic. His expression grew impatient, and he spoke coldly.
"If you get pregnant, get rid of it! Take the medicine!"
Zinnia’s heart felt as if it were being squeezed by a dense web of steel wires.
She laughed, a bleak and miserable smile. Tilting her head back, she took the pill and tossed it into her mouth.
She took a gulp of water and swallowed hard.
Slamming the glass down on the nightstand, she hugged the quilt and got out of bed. After taking two steps, she turned back to stare at the man, his expression unreadable.
"I misspoke just now. There will be no ’next time’ for us!"
Last night? I’ll just consider it a dog bite! Bastard!
Zinnia rushed into the bathroom and slammed the door. She immediately spat out the pill she had hidden under her tongue.
A bitter taste spread through her mouth. She quickly grabbed a cup to rinse it out, but tears began to fall, dropping one by one into the sink.
She didn’t understand why Jenson had to be like this.
Why did he give her hope, again and again, only to personally grind it to dust?
After washing up, Zinnia gradually calmed down. She gently caressed her lower abdomen and whispered softly.
"Baby, let’s you and I make a pact, okay? Let’s just pretend what was just said was nonsense and that we didn’t hear a thing, all right? Mommy loves you and will protect you. The world is still a beautiful place. You must grow up healthy and strong so we can meet soon."
When Zinnia came out of the bathroom, Jenson was gone.
Remembering what Yara had said, Zinnia opened Weibo and saw the photo posted by the gossip blogger.
In the picture, a tall, well-built man was carrying a petite figure in his arms as he strode off the stage.
The man’s broad back and shoulders completely shielded the woman from view, revealing only two small calves dangling by his arms.
The photo was blurry, but deeply suggestive.
This morning, Crystal Sutton had posted on Weibo and tagged that blogger.
Crystal Sutton V: He’s a private person, so please cooperate, thanks. [Image.jpg]
She claimed to want discretion, but the accompanying photo was of herself holding a wine glass. The glass was filled with juice, and its reflection faintly showed the stern profile of a man.
Netizens quickly enlarged the photo and pointed out that the reflection was Jenson Forrest.
Furthermore, the wine glass was identified as being exclusive to The Imperial Court, the same club the gossip blogger had been to.
Case closed. The woman who had kissed Young Master Forrest on stage last night was Crystal Sutton.
After being tagged by the person involved, the blogger deleted the photo and apologized to Crystal, who politely replied that it was no problem.
In a single morning, Crystal had gained several hundred thousand followers from this display of affection, and the comments were full of people gushing over their "ship."
[Gentle yet spicy violinist x abstinent, aloof, and devoted CEO! Oh my god, what kind of divine pairing is this? I’m dead!]
[A domineering CEO boyfriend who’s also your childhood sweetheart? Where can I get one? Waiting online, it’s urgent!]
[President Forrest is so dominant! He won’t even let the lovely fairy Crystal drink alcohol at a bar.]
...
Crystal Sutton was even interacting with the comments, earning praise for being so approachable.
If Zinnia hadn’t been the female lead of the incident at the bar, she might have believed it all herself.
She was utterly disgusted. This also made her even more suspicious about whether Crystal’s child was really Jenson’s. That woman never tells the truth!
Zinnia went downstairs and headed for the door.
"Where are you going?"
The man’s voice came from the dining room.
Zinnia glanced over. Jenson was sitting at the dining table, holding a newspaper. Sunlight streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, enveloping him in its glow.
He wasn’t wearing a suit jacket. Dressed in a simple gray wool sweater and casual pants, sitting at the table in the morning light, he looked less aloof and more like a warm, domestic husband—a sight that was very easy on the eyes.
But thinking about what he had just said and done, Zinnia felt that... Even a pig is better-looking than him.
She averted her gaze and started walking away.
"Eat before you go out!" Jenson commanded in a deep voice.
Zinnia ignored him and didn’t even look back. However, just as she stepped out of the entryway, she was blocked by four bodyguards in the outer hall and escorted back inside.
Fuming, she stalked back into the dining room. Jenson’s expression didn’t change in the slightest; he continued to read his newspaper with the same leisurely posture and cool demeanor.
He heard the sound of a chair dragging. He then slowly and deliberately folded the newspaper, placing it aside. Taking a brocade box from the adjacent chair, he pushed it toward Zinnia.
