Chapter 58: Older Men Have Poor Stamina
CHAPTER 58: CHAPTER 58: OLDER MEN HAVE POOR STAMINA
Zinnia Lawrence was shocked. She rushed over, grabbed the man’s outstretched hand, and executed a perfect shoulder throw.
BAM!
The man landed on the ground, the cotton candy falling beside him.
Zinnia Lawrence kicked the cotton candy away as if it were the poisoned apple meant for Snow White.
She nervously pulled Julia Forrest to her side and inspected him. "Eighth, are you okay?"
"Seventh... Seventh Sister, I’m fine. That guy, not so much," Julia Forrest said, pointing to the person on the ground.
Zinnia Lawrence looked over. The person was still lying there; he was tall and skinny, with long arms and legs.
Meeting her gaze, he weakly raised his right hand and waved.
"Miss, I did help you once. Did you really have to be so harsh?"
Zinnia Lawrence found the voice familiar. She had a keen ear for voices and quickly placed it.
"It’s you! That biker boy from the other day?"
The man raised his eyebrows and smiled. He had deep, charming peach-blossom eyes and wore a large mask. His clear, handsome features made his smile dazzling.
"Seventh Sister, it’s a misunderstanding. He’s my classmate Cecilia Nash’s little uncle."
At that moment, a little girl in a puffy dress ran over holding an identical cotton candy, her eyes wide with amazement.
"Little Uncle, why are you lying on the ground?"
Zinnia Lawrence, "..."
Nathan Nash reached a hand toward the embarrassed Zinnia Lawrence. "My back’s broken. Could you please pull me up, miss?"
He remained on the ground as a crowd started to gather, and Zinnia Lawrence grew worried that he might have actually hurt himself.
She grasped his hand, but in the next second, Nathan Nash engaged his core and sprang to his feet.
The momentum pulled Zinnia off-balance, and she stumbled right into his arms.
Nathan Nash looked down and pulled off his mask, revealing a strikingly refined and handsome face.
The fairy lights in the tree above them suddenly lit up. As they gazed into each other’s eyes, the colorful lights created halos, making them look like a sweet young couple.
At the amusement park entrance, Finn Quinn squinted and recorded the scene, immediately sending it to Jenson Forrest.
[Third Brother, heads up. Your green hat is on the way.]
He didn’t like Zinnia Lawrence and hoped Jenson Forrest would think she was cheating on him, so he deliberately cropped the two kids out of the shot.
He spun the phone in his palm and was about to pocket it when Jenson Forrest called.
Finn Quinn clicked his tongue and answered.
"Where are you?" The man’s voice was calm, but Finn Quinn could sense the fury simmering beneath the surface.
He smirked. "Third Brother, planning to catch them in the act?"
"You know too much," Jenson Forrest’s voice was chilling.
A chill ran down Finn Quinn’s spine. Not daring to poke the bear, he gave him the location.
"Hurry up, Third Brother. I’ll keep a close eye on them for you."
He hung up, but his phone immediately rang again. He answered without looking.
"Don’t worry, Third Brother. You can trust me. I’ll keep a tight watch on Zinnia Lawrence and her lover..."
"What Zinnia Lawrence and lover?"
A woman’s voice came through the phone, and Finn Quinn realized it was Crystal Sutton.
Meanwhile, Zinnia Lawrence and Nathan Nash had already scanned their tickets and entered the amusement park. Finn Quinn hurried to follow them, speaking evasively into the phone, "I have something urgent to attend to, so I’ve got to go."
He hung up, but Crystal Sutton had heard the amusement park’s announcements in the background. She excitedly grabbed her purse and rushed out the door.
Julia Forrest was making a fuss, begging to go inside and play. Since Zinnia Lawrence always spoiled him, they all entered the amusement park together.
The two kids ran ahead, while Nathan Nash walked alongside Zinnia Lawrence and extended his hand.
"Allow me to formally introduce myself. I’m Nathan Nash, twenty years old, single since birth, height 187 cm, weight..."
Zinnia Lawrence chuckled and held up a hand to stop him. "You don’t have to be so detailed. I..."
Nathan Nash raised an eyebrow. "That won’t do. I’m your blind date. When I was coming over, I even thought about making a detailed resume for you to review, just to show my sincerity."
His expression was so serious that Zinnia was left speechless.
She’d thought Julia was just kidding when he said he’d arrange a blind date for her. She never expected the little guy to actually go through with it.
Seeing Nathan Nash’s hand still extended, she politely shook it.
"I’m Zinnia Lawrence. It’s nice to meet you, but I’m not interested in younger men."
"Younger? Have you ever seen a younger guy this tall and mighty?" Nathan Nash retorted, leaning closer with a smile in his charming peach-blossom eyes. "I’m an adult, twenty years old, a real man! See clearly?"
Zinnia Lawrence nodded. Just as Nathan was nodding in satisfaction, she calmly added, "But you’re not even old enough to get married. At best, you’re half a man."
The words weren’t particularly harsh, but they were extremely insulting. The key point was that it was true. A twenty-year-old man had not yet reached the legal age for marriage.
Nathan Nash gritted his teeth. "A ’little puppy’ boyfriend who can be both cool and cute! The ladies love that! How could you insult him like that? Miss, you’re so... unique. I’m even more smitten!"
Zinnia Lawrence, "..."
Nathan took out his phone, a faint smile playing on his lips. "You promised me. The next time we met, you’d add me on WeChat."
Zinnia didn’t act coy. She took his phone and added herself.
Up ahead, Cecilia Nash and Julia Forrest were sneaking glances back at them. Cecilia lifted her little chin.
"See? My little uncle is super capable. He’ll definitely be able to win over your sister. When she becomes my little aunt, you’ll have to call me ’Little Auntie’!"
Julia Forrest pouted. "Dummy, you’ll have to call me ’Little Uncle’."
Cecilia was stunned. Is that how it works?
"But he has to win her over first," Julia added. "My Seventh Sister is hard to get. Just adding him on WeChat doesn’t mean anything."
"Hmph!"
"Hmph!"
The two children huffed, turned their heads, and ignored each other.
Nathan was talkative but also knew when to back off. He had a sunny disposition, which made him pleasant to be around. Young people always warm up to each other quickly. After being confined to her marriage and the Forrest Family for four years, Zinnia felt a bit out of touch with the world. With Nathan leading the way, she started to rediscover the carefree lightheartedness of someone her age.
With the two little ones there to break the ice, they quickly grew familiar after just a few rides.
They didn’t notice that someone was secretly tailing them and giving a live report of their every move.
After getting off the flume ride, all four of them were a little wet. Zinnia pulled out some tissues and bent down to dry the children’s hair.
She felt a gentle touch on her head and turned to see Nathan holding a tissue, helping her dry her hair as well.
"Don’t move. This part’s soaked. You’ll catch a cold if you don’t dry it," he explained.
Just as Zinnia was about to speak, her arm was suddenly yanked to the side.
Zinnia stumbled and fell into a familiar embrace. She looked up and saw Jenson Forrest’s handsome, icy face.
"What are you doing here?" Zinnia asked, surprised.
Jenson’s eyebrow arched sarcastically. "Of course you wouldn’t want me to come. You’re having such a good time, aren’t you?"
His gaze was intense, and he gripped her arm with a force akin to a husband catching his wife cheating.
It wasn’t just akin to it; perhaps that’s exactly what he was doing?
Just as Zinnia had that thought, Jenson turned his head and called out Finn Quinn’s name.
Finn Quinn strolled over, his hands in his pockets. He was a famous celebrity, completely disguised with his trench coat collar turned up, a hat, a mask, and even a wig. Zinnia almost didn’t recognize him.
He nodded coolly at Zinnia. "Fancy seeing you here."
Zinnia looked back at Jenson, surprised. "You came to the amusement park with him?"
"Can’t I?" Jenson replied matter-of-factly.
Zinnia’s curious gaze swept between the two grown men. Finn took a step forward and draped an arm over Jenson’s shoulders.
"Third Brother and I are close. Are you jealous?"
Fine, whatever.
Zinnia didn’t press the issue. At that moment, Nathan stepped forward and asked, "Zinnia, who is this?"
His gaze had already scanned Jenson from head to toe.
He’s handsome and has a powerful aura. Not an ordinary man. But men his age who are successful in their careers tend to be arrogant and self-important. Not as charming or as gentle as me. Most importantly, old guys have no stamina. He definitely can’t compare to me.
Having reached his conclusions, Nathan took out another tissue and handed it to Zinnia. "You should dry yourself off some more. You’re still wet here."
Before Zinnia could take it, Jenson snatched the tissue and began dabbing at her hair himself. His face was cold the entire time, and he didn’t spare Nathan a single glance, treating him as if he were a lowly assistant.
Nathan scoffed, pulling his hand back and stuffing it into his pocket.
Zinnia shot him an apologetic smile and was about to make introductions when Julia Forrest ran over to hug Jenson’s arm, calling out in a sycophantic tone, "Brother."
Oh no, how did my brother find me?
Jenson looked down, flashing a cold, sinister smile at the child.
This little brat. Teaming up with an outsider to steal from his own brother. He shouldn’t have been so lenient with his punishment last time. He should have made the kid stand there until the end of time!
