A Crazy Love Proposal
Chapter 260 - 260 139 Prenuptial Agreement
Chapter 260: Chapter 139 Prenuptial Agreement Chapter 260: Chapter 139 Prenuptial Agreement She had been storming off without speaking, and the two men had accompanied her from just after three until past four in the morning when she finally ran out of energy and sat on a bench, trying to doze off.
Jiang Yingyu wanted to carry her on his back, but Wen Yangzhi strode forward, cutting off his path and scooped up Yun Yuwan in a horizontal hold.
A car that had been following from afar quickly drove up beside the three of them, the car door opened, and Wen Yangzhi carried her straight into the vehicle.
The door remained open because Wen Yangzhi was waiting for him.
Despite being romantic rivals, it was like a brother ensuring a known younger sibling safely returned home in a foreign land, fulfilling his responsibility even if it meant swallowing his pride.
Jiang Yingyu stood outside the car, looking at the drowsy Yun Yuwan. Yuwan was not simply dozing off; she was intoxicated from the strong liquor.
Without hesitation, he stepped into the car, closed the door, and looked at Yun Yuwan.
Wen Yangzhi, noticing his gaze, realized she was drunk, not asleep, completely unconscious.
With one hand supporting Yun Yuwan’s head, his eyes as dark as gathering storm clouds, he said, “Xiaojiang, this is between Yuwan and me. Thank you for taking care of her these past few days.”
Yet, Jiang Yingyu suddenly laughed, a laugh tinged with either sarcasm or exasperation, “No need. My care for her is unrelated to you. I take care of her only because I like Yuwan. I was always the best choice for her marriage; I can marry her right away.”
Wen Yangzhi didn’t argue but merely said calmly, “You are still young, you don’t understand the best that I want to give to Yuwan.”
Jiang Yingyu simply looked down at Yun Yuwan.
With dark circles under her eyes, she never had a proper rest, and he could tell these past few days, despite being with him, she could have been spared this suffering.
Jiang Yingyu said with biting irony, “This is what you call the best?”
A breeze from the car window stirred Yun Yuwan’s hair, passing over Wen Yangzhi’s distinctly contoured palm, “You are kind to everyone, and with Millie’s character, she wouldn’t be able to stand it.”
npd’s possessiveness is strong, and no one knew that better than Wen Yangzhi.
But that was not an issue at all for Jiang Yingyu, who decisively said, “In the future, she will be the only one. I don’t have to be nice to everyone; if she doesn’t like it, I can change.”
Wen Yangzhi just steadied her head, “When I was your age, I too thought just as lightly, but I care about her, and so I am cautious in everything.”
Jiang Yingyu, who was always polite and amiable, found it boring at that moment, scoffed with a laugh, nodding his head and parroting his words sarcastically, “Care about.”
Watching Yun Yuwan numb and suppress herself like this, he found it pointless to talk to this self-righteous stick-in-the-mud and turned to the driver in the front, saying:
“Stop.”
The foreign driver in front, not understanding the situation, stepped on the brakes. Jiang Yingyu attempted to take Yun Yuwan over, his hand just touching her shoulder.
Wen Yangzhi grabbed his wrist in an instant. As Jiang Yingyu tried to move forward, Wen Yangzhi gripped his right hand tightly, preventing him from touching Yun Yuwan. The veins in both men’s arms bulged, as if on the verge of snapping the next second.
Jiang Yingyu, usually relaxed and clear-voiced, said with a taut and emphatic tone, “She needs to rest, it’s four in the morning now, she can’t fly back with you now!”
Wen Yangzhi’s fingertips whitened from the pressure, the vertical lines on the muscles of his arm as clear as ravines due to the strain.
Stated with finality in the wide-open and wild night, “She suffers from insomnia at night, can’t sleep straight through anywhere, do you know what kind of pillow she needs to sleep on, what kind of light so she won’t wake up startled?”
Realizing he wasn’t planning to take Yun Yuwan back to the country, Jiang Yingyu’s grip loosened slightly, and Wen Yangzhi immediately pulled back his hand and opened the car door, giving the guest the boot, “Get out, I will send you the hotel address.”
Unflinching, Jiang Yingyu looked at Yun Yuwan’s face and enunciated each word clearly, “Where she is, I am.”
Yun Yuwan, groggy, leaned against someone’s shoulder, not knowing whose it was, but any shoulder was comforting enough to lean on to avoid feeling dizzy.
After a while, her head unconsciously tilted to the other side, unexpectedly resting on another shoulder. With her eyes closed, her little brain could no longer control the fluttering of her eyelids, she just deliriously rubbed against Jiang Yingyu’s shoulder and fell asleep against him again.
She felt she was severely drunk, but she didn’t have the energy to think of anything else.
Jiang Yingyu steadied her shoulders, and she just leaned into his embrace.
For a moment, Jiang Yingyu’s chest went rigid.
Yun Yuwan murmured, “This perfume of yours stinks.”
She had never smelled this kind of fragrance before.
She didn’t know if she had said it out loud or just thought it in her head.
But moments later, she heard a somewhat unfamiliar, clear male voice gently conveying, “Then I won’t use this anymore.”
She murmured a groggy affirmation.
After a long while, the car came to a halt. She felt it was likely that the subway she was on had stopped, that she had arrived at her station, and needed to disembark.
Yun Yuwan stood up to walk forward, but there was a gap between the car and the ground. Her foot missed the step, and she was swiftly caught around the waist by someone. She was suspended in the air, and then the person lifted her across his arms.
She didn’t know where she was walking, as some deliberately lowered voices started speaking above her head.
Two deep voices had a serious conversation for a while, one deep and one clear.
She felt herself being put down, and one of the voices, which was relatively familiar and deep, asked her,
“Yuwan, who are you with?”
She had no capacity to think, only leaning towards the direction of the person who had just embraced her, and was caught steadily.
Wen Yangzhi saw Yun Yuwan, who had flung herself into his arms, and looked at Jiang Yingyu.
After a moment, they passed each other. He took out the room key card, swiped it to open the door, not caring about the Jiang Yingyu outside.
He changed the completely drunk Yun Yuwan into a fresh set of clothes and made sure she was positioned properly in bed.
In the middle of the night, she babbled, her upper lip quivering, “Brother, my tooth hurts.”
Wen Yangzhi, who was about to fall asleep after a long day, opened his eyes, half-closed them again, lifted her into the bathroom, and placed her on the broad sink counter,
“You haven’t brushed your teeth; of course they would hurt.”
She was too inebriated to be self-aware, so Wen Yangzhi supported the back of her head, got her to open her mouth, and brushed her teeth for her.
Luckily, she was drunk and had forgotten that she was angry with him; she subconsciously depended on him, even instinctively calling him “brother.”
He spoke to her softly, “Spit it out.”
She obediently spat it out, and Wen Yangzhi brushed her teeth again.
“Spit it out.”
Yun Yuwan: “Ptooey.”
Wen Yangzhi brought a cup of water to her lips, asking her to rinse,
“Spit it out.”
But he heard a gulping sound.
Wen Yangzhi pinched her cheek to look into her mouth, “Swallowed it?”
She seemed rather pleased with herself, like a child who diligently drank milk in the morning and was waiting to be praised, eyes closed, nodding forcefully in agreement, “Mhm!”
Wen Yangzhi couldn’t help but wipe her mouth clean with a towel and gave her a kiss.
Wen Yangzhi rarely wasted his time on such matters, yet he chased after her all over Europe.
After she finished brushing her teeth, she sat on the sink counter for a while longer. When Wen Yangzhi tried to lift her down, she shook her head, eyes still closed, refusing to budge.
It took more than ten minutes before she seemed to regain some consciousness. Suddenly, she slapped him, turning Wen Yangzhi’s face slightly to the side. She slapped him hard, immediately reddening his face with a handprint.
But Wen Yangzhi wasn’t angry. He grabbed her hand and pressed it against his own face, his gaze firmly on her,
“Hit me, as hard as you can.”
Yun Yuwan didn’t hold back, slapping him across the face harder than before. Wen Yangzhi’s ears rang momentarily, the side of his face burning.
It was completely different from her usual playful slaps and taps when she acted spoiled with him.
Wen Yangzhi’s voice was as deep as the trembling earth, “After you’re done, look at the prenuptial agreement.”
