A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners
Chapter 53: Kill
CHAPTER 53: KILL
"Baby, what’s wrong?" Ivy asked in confusion, noticing Oliver suddenly deep in thought.
"Let’s get out of here first," Oliver replied, taking Ivy’s hand and pulling her along.
Murphy hadn’t seen them when he arrived, but the same couldn’t be said for when he left. On his way back down the stairs, he’d be able to see the entire first floor from above.
As soon as they got into the car, Oliver drove off quickly.
Then, he started explaining to Ivy what had happened—about what he had done to Murphy, and Murphy’s plan to pay someone to kill him.
The problem was that the assassin wasn’t weak.
As his girlfriend, Ivy was clearly the right person to discuss the matter with.
And she showed her quality as a woman with a sharp mind and academic excellence.
After hearing the story, she remained calm instead of panicking.
She appeared to think quickly, already looking for a solution.
"This person’s abilities are impressive. Maybe he’s using some kind of treasure to create a manifestation equal in power to his real body, even though he shouldn’t be able to manifest yet," Ivy said.
"The most terrifying thing about him is the fact that no one knows his identity. That’s what makes him fearless," Oliver replied.
Since his identity was hidden, no one could directly target him.
"We basically can’t confront him right now. His level is twice as high as ours. I think instead of going after him, we should deal with Murphy. Fire Ghost is only targeting you because he’s being paid—so what if no one pays him anymore?"
When Oliver heard that, his eyes lit up.
Ivy was right.
There was no need to wait for Fire Ghost to make a move. As long as he stopped Murphy, the threat would disappear.
As for how to deal with him—there were plenty of options, since Murphy was weaker than both him and Ivy.
Oliver started slowing the car, thinking about how to deal with Murphy.
Should I kill him?
That idea definitely crossed his mind.
In the world of Cultivators and Awakeners, killing was not uncommon. They just didn’t show it openly.
Oliver, who had only recently become a Cultivator, still thought of killing as something serious. He had never done it before, but he believed he could force himself to do it if it was for his own survival.
Murphy wanted to kill him—so naturally, he felt the same urge to kill Murphy.
Even if he hadn’t killed before, he would force himself to do it. He just needed to imagine Murphy as a monster.
"Let’s go back," he said as he turned the car around and headed back toward the restaurant.
"Ohhh, he’s leaving!"
As they approached the restaurant, Oliver saw Murphy exiting with his bodyguards.
They got into a large car that could fit all of them.
Oliver followed the vehicle from a distance—far enough not to be suspicious, but close enough to keep track with Void Sense. He could even monitor Murphy inside the car.
The man was sitting in the front passenger seat, smoking a cigarette while talking on the phone with what seemed to be his girlfriend, judging by how sweetly he was speaking.
Their destination was still unclear, but Oliver couldn’t act while they were still on the busy city streets. He had to wait until they reached a more suitable location.
To his surprise, the car entered the highway heading out of the city.
Once on the highway, the car naturally picked up speed.
Oliver followed swiftly but maintained his distance.
"Baby, let’s just kill him. It’ll solve a lot of problems," Ivy suddenly said.
Oliver looked at her with a strange expression.
He hadn’t voiced his decision yet, but clearly Ivy was thinking the same thing.
Oliver nodded, no longer hesitating now that he had her support.
"Here. Maybe I can attack him now," he muttered, thinking of a clean way to strike—something that would work in one move.
The highway was fairly empty, especially the farther they went. The distance between vehicles was quite generous.
"Take over the wheel and get us alongside that car," he said.
Ivy nodded and swapped seats with him.
Even at high speeds, it wasn’t difficult for them.
Once in the passenger seat, Oliver rolled down the window slightly.
Ivy, an excellent driver, easily matched Murphy’s vehicle.
All the windows of Murphy’s car were open, with everyone inside smoking—not just Murphy.
The driver seemed extremely arrogant.
When Ivy tried to pass them, the driver swerved aggressively toward their car, nearly hitting them—if not for Ivy’s quick reaction in avoiding the collision.
Fortunately, the road was wide and had plenty of space on the side.
Ivy’s eyes turned cold. She was clearly offended, but their car was smaller—if they collided, theirs would be the one to break apart.
"Baby..." she said, as if asking Oliver to get revenge.
She didn’t need to say more.
He rolled down the window on his side completely.
The driver probably thought they were about to yell at him and glared back first.
But Murphy, sitting next to him, couldn’t help but freeze when he saw the man and woman inside the car.
Oliver raised his hand toward their vehicle with a cold gaze.
Buzz!
His Black Hole appeared—about the same size as Ivy’s car.
It had previously only absorbed energy, but never objects or living beings. Oliver wanted to feel what it was like to swallow both.
As he poured a massive amount of energy into the Black Hole, it began spinning at high speed, releasing a terrifying suction force.
Murphy’s large, fast-moving vehicle didn’t even last a second—it was instantly swallowed whole by the black hole.
The suction force of the black hole was beyond Oliver’s imagination.
Inside, there was only a swirling void—like a blender—destroying everything. No, erasing everything.
No matter how hard or durable something was, once it was in the black hole, it was guaranteed to be obliterated.
Oliver watched as Murphy and the car were erased in an instant. Even the bodyguards didn’t last a second—they were just ordinary humans.
With no witnesses, the kill was completely clean. Not a single trace remained.
"Death ends life," he murmured spontaneously.
Strangely enough, in that moment, he had a revelation—an insight into the Ordo of Life.
He closed his eyes, stunning Ivy.
But she understood what was happening.
In just a few minutes, Oliver had unraveled more of the Ordo of Life, increasing his understanding of it to 4%.
Ordo of Life (4/10%) +0.47
As his comprehension of the Ordo of Life grew, his Second Spiritual Space instantly expanded, allowing it to store far more energy.
The total amount even reached 10,000 Energy Reserves—about six times greater than his original capacity.
