I'll state a fact that everyone knows: if you have connections in the police, your life will be easier. I learned this the hard way today. In Gotham, after the Joker incident, I had a little chat with Renee and Commissioner Gordon, after which they let me go. I don't think I need to remind you of my good relations with these two guardians of the law.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any acquaintances in the Marvel NYPD. And I had to hang around the police station all day. I gave statements, told my version of what happened, and signed various papers.

Naturally, the incident became known to the press. I refused to give an interview, so the local newspapermen went to other eyewitnesses of what happened. I already know what they will tell them.

Alex Reath bravely stood up to the bank robbers, and together with his bodyguard, neutralized the intruders with machine guns. The leader of the robbers turned out to be more resourceful and, using explosives, made a hole in the wall and rushed away.

Of course, no one noticed that it was me who blew up the wall. The bomb, which appeared out of nowhere, flew by too fast for anyone to notice the source. So everyone made a completely logical conclusion, and their imagination filled in the details.

The report indicated that it was the White Rabbit who did it. I did not deny it. I was not worried about being the subject of discussion in the press again. In fact, this incident would only benefit me. In the eyes of the public, my image as a hero would be painted in new bright colors.

*Mister Alex, please pay attention to me. Thank you," the captain brought me back from the land of dreams.

"I repeat the question again. What happened to the White Rabbit?"

"She ran away, but promised to return."

"I see…" Yuri Watanabe, a girl with Asian appearance, served as a captain of the New York police. It was she who led the operation to free the bank hostages. Although in fact, Sasha and I did all the work for her. And what did I get instead of gratitude? Accusations and handcuffs! Of course, everything was quickly resolved, but I still haven't received an apology from the captain! Which I wasn't embarrassed to tell her about.

"Excuse me," she said in a neutral tone.

"Miss Watanabe, you are too pessimistic and serious. Let me give you some advice. Be simpler, and people will be drawn to you. Isn't it wonderful to meet interesting people and establish good relationships with them? For example, this is exactly what I always strive for when I meet new faces."

"So you've established good relations with the White Rabbit as well?" Yuri asked sarcastically.

"That's right. We got along well with her. I think so."

"Are you serious right now?! You've established close contact with the villainess? That's great, we could…"

"Don't start, Miss Yuri," I interrupted the girl's momentum, "I'm not going to help you catch the Rabbit. I have no complaints against you, you do your job well, but... When I say good relations, I mean good relations. This means that I have no intention of betraying anyone."

"What are you talking about?! You know that you are harboring a criminal!"

"I don't understand what you are talking about. I only met the White Rabbit for the first time today, and I don't know where she is now... Instead of thanking me for preventing a robbery and saving the hostages, you sit and blame me. All the people from the Rabbit gang have been captured, and you are still dissatisfied. Have a conscience and moderate your appetite, captain."

In response to my words, Yuriko decided to tactfully remain silent. In fact, I do not hate her, on the contrary, I respect her. She is a hardworking, honest and fair police officer. In the comics, Watanabe was an ally of Spider-Man. She was completely disappointed with the justice system, the police did not live up to her expectations in catching criminals. The powerful and rich always found a way to escape punishment for their crimes. All this drove Yuriko into wild despair, prompting her to take action. One day, she used the gadgets of the villains Mysterio and Hobgoblin and, taking the nickname Ghost, began to fight crime herself, using more radical methods. As a result, she, together with Spider-Man, put Mister Negative in prison. Although she and Spider-Man had some conflicts regarding the conduct of the case and the measures taken, everything ended well. Well, almost well: Yuri's alter ego was revealed, and she had to leave the police.

Yes, she has a very interesting future, but for now she is still a simple police officer. I would like to get along with her. We must not forget: friendship with the police is an important point.

After a short silence, she still said, "I sincerely ask you to forgive me, Mister Alex. It's just that lately things have been difficult with crime... And then this happened and I…"

"I understand everything. They say that sometimes thorns and adversity create strong people and true friends. Don't be upset. I'm sure everything will work out for you. And I hope we will get along, Captain Watanabe," I extended my hand.

"I have trouble with communication. And my character is pretty bad. But if you come to terms with this, perhaps we will become friends," she answered with a handshake. "And you are not at all what they say about you."

"You are mistaken, I am exactly like that."

********************************

The Arctic is the breath of eternal winter, the product of angry nature, determined to forever chain the earth in ice and snowy deserts. This is what first comes to mind when you see these vast icy expanses, floating blocks and ice mountains of unimaginable sizes and shapes: diamond-clear, sprinkled with snow sands, faceted by the hands of the elements and blown in by blizzards that penetrate into the very soul.

This majestic beauty, no matter how much it strives to frighten with its power and severity, attracted and lured adventurers, connoisseurs of the beautiful and invincible, like a magnet.

I also would not mind counting myself among these brave men, but the noise of the helicopter blades reminded me of my primary task - rescuing Captain America, frozen in the ice since World War II. To get to the snowy places, I bought a helicopter. It delivered us safely. At this point, its mission was over. It will not be our assistant in the search for a super soldier.

Having touched the air transport, I placed it in the inventory. From the outside, this scene could seem truly mystical, because the large helicopter simply disappeared at one moment.

As I already said, I can place objects of any size in the inventory, as long as they do not contain a living being. The rotary-wing machine was replaced by a snow all-terrain vehicle on tracks. I adore my inventory. With it, I am like a human arsenal. Having jumped into the all-terrain vehicle, Sasha and I set off to conquer the snowy regions of the Arctic. It is now October - the time of the polar night, when neither light nor heat reaches these parts.

The weather at this time also leaves much to be desired. Sub-zero temperatures and strong gusts of wind can significantly hinder the search. But determined and prepared people are not afraid of the harsh conditions of the cold desert. So our inspired mission to save the ice man began. If we think sensibly, the chances of ordinary travelers finding the frozen Captain are practically zero. It's not so much because of the harsh conditions, but because of the huge territory.
