CHAPTER 1170: CHAPTER 234: GIVING YOUR HEART ONLY SPEEDS UP DEATH (PART 3)
"Great, it’s time to liven things up."
Pei Xinyi didn’t say anything upon hearing this and slightly clenched their hand hidden under their sleeve.
"Let’s go."
——
Ji Yunya woke up in the morning feeling a bit groggy. She instinctively reached out beside her and found it already cold.
Feeling a bit disappointed at heart, Brother Yan had left early.
Staring at the canopy above, memories of everything that happened last night flashed through her mind like a carousel, making her cheeks flush red, and her heart beat wildly as she shrank back under the quilt.
Last night, Brother Yan was more passionate than ever, like a fire that almost burned her out; she didn’t know what happened afterward. However, one thing she was sure of was that no matter how far things went, Brother Yan never crossed the line.
He said he wanted to save the best for their wedding night. Thinking of this, Ji Yunya felt even sweeter inside.
Last night, he called her name by her ear, tender as honey, lingering and fervent, and her heart completely sank.
What had gotten into him?
Ji Yunya rolled back and forth in the quilt, sometimes giggling, sometimes sighing. Ah Yun heard the noise and knocked on the door. Ji Yunya sulkily replied, "Come in."
Ah Yun opened the door, bringing a gust of cold wind inside, making Ji Yunya shrink further into her quilt.
Ah Yun chuckled, "Miss, it’s only a little after six, do you want to sleep a little more?"
Ji Yunya glanced outside. The morning was already gloomy. "When did Brother Yan leave?"
Ah Yun blinked her confused eyes, "Did Young Master Yan Song sleep here last night?"
Ji Yunya: "...." She forgot he sneaked in.
"Uh... Just disregard what I said. I was talking nonsense."
Ah Yun smiled, "I’ll pretend I don’t know anything."
Ah Yun helped Ji Yunya get dressed. Ji Yunya just sat on the bed with her eyes half-closed, even letting Ah Yun put on her shoes. Over the past two years, she had become increasingly pampered.
After washing up, Ji Yunya, feeling refreshed, headed out. First, she went to find Zhuang Xiyue, and then they went to have breakfast together. On the way, they met Yan Xing, Yan Hua, and Meng Junci, who were on their way as well. The three were wearing school uniforms, looking exceptionally youthful and vibrant. Yan Hua was serene and gentle, Yan Xing was adorably sweet, and Meng Junci was bright and charming; each had their own strengths, adding a beautiful touch to this early winter morning.
"Third Aunt."
"Third Aunt...."
The three greeted them, and Zhuang Xiyue smiled and nodded in response.
Yan Xing hopped next to Ji Yunya. "Sister Yun Ya, I’m about to have my final exams. You graduated from a prestigious school, so your grades must have been excellent. Can you tutor me a bit?"
Now that she was asking for help, her attitude couldn’t be nicer.
Ji Yunya smiled brightly, "Sure."
"Sister Yun Ya, you are the best. With your tutoring, my final grades are bound to be great!"
Zhuang Xiyue chuckled, "You clever girl, don’t tire our Yun Ya out."
"Third Aunt, you’re so biased. Sister Yun Ya hasn’t even married into the family, and you’re already favoring her." Yan Xing pouted playfully.
Yan Hua watched with a gentle smile, and Meng Junci lowered his head, taking a deep breath.
While the others weren’t paying attention, Yan Xing quietly sidled up to Ji Yunya and whispered, "Sis-in-law, about Mai Zheng’s concert tickets...."
Ji Yunya smiled faintly, "Come to me tonight to get them."
"Yay, sis-in-law, you’re the best." Yan Xing blurted out, causing the other three to look at her. Yan Xing awkwardly stuck out her tongue, then ran to Ji Yunya’s other side, whispering, "Sis-in-law, can you go with me?"
Given Ji Yunya’s close relationship with Mai Zheng, without her company, how could she possibly meet him in person?
Ji Yunya turned her head and glanced at her. Yan Xing was looking at her expectantly with wide, innocent eyes. Ji Yunya thought for a moment and said, "Well, that depends on what your brother thinks."
Yan Xing pursed her lips, "What, if my brother doesn’t let you go, you won’t go? Is there no such thing as personal freedom?"
Ji Yunya smiled, "He’s only thinking of what’s best for me."
Yan Xing was speechless. It seemed her brother had Ji Yunya completely wrapped around his finger; they were a perfect match.
Chatting along the way, they arrived at the dining room, already filled with people. They were calling everyone to be seated when Yan Nangui finally strolled in, lazily sitting down next to Ji Yunya. Yan Xing, who had just returned from the restroom, raised her eyebrows, "Seventh Uncle, that’s my seat."
Yan Nangui raised his eyebrows, "Is your name engraved on the chair?"
Yan Xing was afraid of this Seventh Uncle, rolled her eyes, and obediently found an empty seat to sit down.
Yan Nangui propped his head on one hand, glanced sideways at Ji Yunya, and saw her snow-white skin and delicate features. Her skin was even fairer than an egg with its shell removed; her petite, elegant nose; those lips always adorned with a gentle smile. Her long, thick eyelashes perfectly cloaked the emotions in her eyes when slightly lowered, like looking at flowers through a mist, giving her an ethereal and mysterious beauty that most captivated a man’s heart.
