A Son For My Billionaire Step-brother
Chapter 11
CHAPTER 11: CHAPTER 11
Olivia’s point of view
"I’m not living with Gabriel, Mom. Besides, you owe me an apology for kidnapping my son. Do you have any idea how worried I am when you don’t bring him home?" I scolded my mother on a video call.
"Look, sweetie. I am so sorry. I don’t want to make you worried but this is the only way to make you agree on this vacation. Can’t you see your son? He is having so much fun," she commented, showing me my son who was having so much fun in Disney world with his grandfather.
I can’t deny my mother was right but I’m still mad at her for taking my son without my consent, especially since I know he asked Gabriel for help. I don’t want Gabriel to get involved in our lives, and I don’t want him to have custody with our son. I’m doing my best to hide my son’s identity from his biological father as hard as I could, but my mother is trying to make me speak with that man.
I sighed in disbelief, "Fine. I forgive you. I can’t stay mad at you forever. You are my mother. But Gavin will miss a lot of school activities because of you, and you will take him to school as punishment."
"No worries, Olivia. I already spoke to his teacher and she agreed. We will take care of his assignments and miss activities once we get home. For now, I want you to take care of the mansion. Gabriel isn’t good at taking care of the house," she said.
I rolled my eyes because I don’t need to manage their mansion. They have a butler and a lot of maids to do that, so why would my mother ask me to handle the mansion?
"Why are you asking me to manage the mansion? Doesn’t your husband have a butler and a lot of maids to do that job?" I questioned in confusion.
"Well, we forgot to mention that we give all of their maids a one week vacation too. So, Sanchez the Butler won’t be present and I’m counting on you to take care of the house."
I scoffed, "What?! I started to think you are planning this intentionally because you wanted me to get along with your step-son, mother. I have a lot of work to do. I have a company to handle, and also Gavin’s birthday is coming up. How am I going to do all of those things alone?"
She shrugged, "That’s for you to find out, my dearest daughter. Now, I have a lot of packages coming into the house and someone needs to sign it up."
My mother and her surprises.
I think my mother was surprised because I know it won’t be good. I am trying my best to avoid Gabriel, but she is making a way to prevent that.
"I have to end this call now, Olivia. We don’t want to waste our remaining days on this vacation," she smiled.
"Okay, bye. Take care of my son," I said.
"You got it!"
I ended the video call before leaning on the chair. I stared at my laptop while thinking how am I even going to avoid Gabriel while living in the same house with him, especially since I’m not that good when it comes to avoiding people. Although I have a goal and eagerness to hide the truth, it will be a piece of cake for me.
My deep thoughts were immediately passed when the doorbell echoed to the house. I stood up in confusion because I wasn’t expecting any visitors today, especially since Daniel what’s on another business trip and will come home tomorrow. I approached the door and opened it, surprised to see Gabriel’s fiance.
She was standing at my porch with an annoying smile, but what’s more interesting is she managed to find my address.
I crossed my arms and inquired, "What are you doing here? I don’t remember telling you where I leave, Catherine."
"Is that how you’re going to greet your soon to be sister-in-law?" She asked.
I raised my eyebrow and said, "I will treat you the way I wanted to, Catherine. Besides, you are not welcome to come here, so enlighten me of your purpose."
"Well, I got interested in your background, Olivia. I wasn’t so sure how you got your son, but I’m sure of one thing. The man who you currently believe is not the father of your son," she revealed.
I laughed, "Is that it? You came all the way here just to tell me that you found out Daniel is not Gavin’s father. You need to do better than that."
"Yeah, you’re right. But isn’t it you and your mother that don’t belong in elite society? Five years ago you were nothing but a poor girl working in a fashion industry under an infamous company while your mother was searching for a rightful husband to satisfy her needs, and I wouldn’t say Gabriel’s father what’s the stupid to propose to your mother. Isn’t that confusing, Olivia?"
"What are you proposing, Catherine? Are you telling me that my mother is a gold digger and he was using your son to be husband’s father for money? Also, why are you sticking your nose in my life? Are you that jealous and desperate?" I counter back.
I saw how her face changed and I know that I hit her ego. People like her have a fragile ego and once you step on it, it will break and they will make chaos. She is the princess of a rich family who came from an elite society, so she has had a golden spoon on her tongue ever since she was born while I have to make a living and ensure my future will be golden.
"Let’s be honest here, Catherine. I know you did all the work to find my address and you’re not going to come here with a little information to threaten me. You have another purpose," I stated.
She stepped closer but I didn’t move from my location. "Gabriel and I have been engaged for 2 years. I’ve been trying to win his heart after one mistake, and suddenly you came into his life. I don’t know what so special about you, and I don’t know why you seem important to him even though you just met. But I will find it. So do not underestimate the power of a rich person. I will find your little secret, and I will ensure it will terrify you that you want to flee from his life."
After that dangerous threat, Catherine marched away and went to her car. She drove away, leaving me in silence. I know sooner she will find out the truth and I need to be more careful. Once Catherine unleashes the secret I’ve been trying to fold for five years, it will be the end of everything.
