CHAPTER 101: CHOOSE RIGHT

DO NOT UNLOCK UNTIL 8 hours AFTER RESET

My head spun again as I tried to think of how I knew this guy.

It all seemed weird how it felt like I knew some of them even when I could have sworn I had never met them.

Then it suddenly clicked.

"I know you!" I exclaimed, "You were in that picture of me and Damian!"

"Yes, I am one of the men in the pictures," he said as he bowed to me. "It’s a pleasure to finally meet you."

Tristan’s head whipped to Gaston, and for some reason I saw a look of rage cross his features.

Did I say something wrong?

Bam!

It all looked like a blur, but just as one minute passed, Tristan was sitting by my side. The next, he had his hands tightly wrapped around Gaston’s neck.

"What did you just say to her? Don’t lie to me," Tristan growled, tightening his grip as I watched with wide eyes. "Tell me the truth!"

I jumped off of the bed and moved behind Tristan as I stared at the two men in shock.

I could see Gaston’s face turning red and his body struggling to breathe under Tristan’s tight grip.

"Stop it!" I screamed.

Tristan didn’t seem to hear me, though, as he tightened his hold on Gaston’s throat, choking him until his face turned a bright shade of purple.

"I thought you said you were nothing but a recruit who didn’t know a thing about Damian," Tristan snarled as he squeezed the life out of the man. "Why did you keep that information a secret? Did you ever consider revealing that part of the information?!"

Gaston struggled to speak, but no sound came out. He looked at me pleadingly, sweat running down his forehead.

His eyes begged me to save him.

I wanted to help, but I didn’t understand what was happening. What was going on with Tristan?

I looked up at Tristan with pleading eyes as I held back tears as my traumatic memory began to resurface. "Please don’t hurt him anymore."

"Why should I do that? This is what he deserves!" Tristan yelled as he tightened his grip on Gaston’s neck a little more.

My heart broke in two as I looked up at Tristan. "He was the one who helped me escape that night!"Tristan looked over his shoulder at me before he released Gaston.

Thud!

The man fell to the floor and coughed violently as Tristan let out a deep sigh.

Gaston grabbed his neck in pain and stumbled to the wall, where he leaned against it, gasping for air as he continued to cough.

"I’m sorry," he gasped between breaths. "It’s just that... I can’t believe it. I can’t believe you actually remembered something that happened so long ago."
