Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

CHAPTER 2033: CHAPTER 2032: SO MANY NEEDLE PRICKS
Once he walked away, Bai Ruozhu closed the room door and hurriedly picked up the silk handkerchief, examining it carefully.
This time, she looked closely and found that part of the content on the handkerchief was continuous with that on the peace talisman. However, the handkerchief was incomplete, indicating that there was more to it.
She suppressed her excitement and stored the handkerchief in the Space.
In her previous life, she accidentally acquired the upper half of the "Poison Classic." She was so engrossed in it that she almost succumbed to a dangerous obsession. Just like an addict, she couldn’t stop reading it. But with her abilities, she couldn’t absorb the content all at once. Eventually, she had a headache for a week and felt dazed. If it weren’t for her lack of ambition and timely withdrawal, she suspected she would have become foolish.
Now that she had obtained these, she needed to study and understand them thoroughly, bit by bit.
But how should she tell Second Brother and Elder Su about this?
That’s when there was another knock on the door, and a voice came from outside, "Madam, did you find the medicine for Lanlan’s injury?"
Bai Ruozhu twitched her lips. This kid used to seem smart, but how did he become so clueless now? Couldn’t he see she was just making an excuse to give them some time alone?
"Oh, I have some business to attend to. You take it and apply the medicine for Lanlan." She hurriedly handed over a bottle of hemostatic ointment.
Lanlan’s little needle prick had definitely stopped bleeding long ago; using the medicine was completely unnecessary.
But Chen Feng accepted the medicine bottle nonetheless and seriously went to apply it.
Bai Ruozhu helplessly held her forehead. Do people in love always become less intelligent?
Even though Chen Feng had never admitted it, seeing how he fussed over Lanlan, it was clear she held a place in his heart.
Bai Ruozhu found it peculiar. Chen Feng had seen Ruolan before but felt nothing. But with the same face, he was captivated by Lanlan.
This probably meant he liked Lanlan’s personality and her inner beauty.
Meanwhile, in the guest room, Chen Feng took the medicine bottle back and saw Lanlan sewing agate beads. When she looked up and saw him enter, she pricked her finger again.
"Be careful!" He rushed over, grabbed her hand, and tried to apply the medicine. But seeing his iron-sleeved arm, he froze.
His eyes darkened as he quickly retracted his hand.
"Apply the medicine and stop sewing." He said in a low voice.
"No way!" Lanlan pouted. "This is a birthday gift for my mother. Look how beautiful the agates look sewn around. I want to sew them in a circle according to this pattern."
She didn’t notice Chen Feng’s change in demeanor, and as she spoke, she got distracted and pricked her finger again.
"Ah..." She couldn’t help but exclaim softly, pouting her little mouth.
Chen Feng snatched the bag from her hands angrily, "You’re clumsy, so don’t sew. Otherwise, your fingers will get hurt, and your mother will be sad if she sees it."
"I’m not clumsy!" Lanlan’s eyes reddened, "Sister Ruozhu praised me for being smart."
When Chen Feng saw her about to cry, he panicked and hurriedly said, "You should rest. Let me sew the rest for you."
After saying that, he was stunned himself. Could he even do it?
Hmph, it’s just sewing some beads. He could wield a sword; why would he fear a needle?
"Can you?" Lanlan asked in disbelief.
"How hard can it be? Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it for you." Chen Feng said.
Lanlan felt a bit embarrassed but didn’t argue with him, recalling he said her mother would be upset.
Unexpectedly, Chen Feng sucked in a breath of cold air just as he began, pricking his thigh...
His one hand, wearing an iron arm guard, couldn’t hold the bag steadily, so he put it on his thigh, accidentally pricking it.
Fortunately, he was a man and had suffered injuries before, so he didn’t cry out in pain.
"Gee, be careful!" Lanlan looked at him with a bit of distress.
"I’ll get the hang of it soon." He said as he continued sewing. But after a few stitches, he pricked himself again. Luckily, being a martial artist, he reacted quickly and didn’t prick too deep. As for whether it bled, with pants covering his leg, it wasn’t visible.
Then, he pricked himself again, and again, until Lanlan couldn’t bear to watch, "Let me do it."
"Almost done." Chen Feng said through gritted teeth. Now he realized that handling an embroidery needle was harder than wielding a sword. If he married in the future, he wouldn’t let his wife do needlework—it’s sheer torture!
Finally, Chen Feng’s leg was covered in needle pricks, but luckily Lanlan couldn’t see it, and he pretended nothing was wrong. Otherwise, Lanlan would have been worried sick.
Lanlan looked at the finished product and happily said, "This is a gift from both you and me to my mother."
"It has nothing to do with me." Chen Feng paused before realizing. Sending a gift with Lanlan together—what was that about?
"But you contributed. How can you not be mentioned?" Lanlan said discontentedly.
"I..." Chen Feng wanted to explain but didn’t know how to tell Lanlan about the difference between men and women.
Lanlan looked at his thigh, "Do you need to apply medicine on your leg?"
As she spoke, she reached out to touch his thigh, and Chen Feng suddenly jumped to the side. Didn’t this girl know about gender differences?
He felt he couldn’t stay any longer. Otherwise, if her mother saw this, he’d be in big trouble!
"I have something to do, so I’m leaving. You take a good rest." He said, and with that, he quickly ran off.
"Chen Feng..." Lanlan stomped her foot in frustration. Why did he run off so quickly?
By the next day, the team set off again, and Bai Ruozhu found an opportunity to talk with her brother.
"Second Brother, I promised to do something for Tong Zhengye, so I might be leaving for a few days." Bai Ruozhu got straight to the point.
"Repayment? That’s a debt I owe him, not you." Bai Zepei said unhappily.
"No, he gave me a medical book. You know I don’t like owing favors." Bai Ruozhu didn’t mention the "Poison Classic" for fear of causing trouble.
Bai Zepei frowned and said after a long pause, "I’ll go with you."
"No way!" Bai Ruozhu immediately objected, "You don’t have martial arts skills, and we’d need to spare people to protect you."
After saying that, she regretted it, worrying she might have seemed dismissive towards her brother.
"I’ll talk to Tong Zhengye myself." Bai Zepei said directly.
Bai Ruozhu saw his firm stance and could only return to the carriage, feeling somewhat miffed.
The next morning, during breakfast, Bai Zepei told Bai Ruozhu, "Take care of yourself and stay safe."
Bai Ruozhu was taken aback. Was he not going with her after all? No longer insisting?
She was curious about how Tong Zhengye convinced her brother, but before she could ask, he went off, and she didn’t want to create additional issues. She decided to find a chance to ask Tong Zhengye after they set off.
