Abundant Martial Arts Virtue
Chapter 715 - 581
CHAPTER 715: 581
Chaos granted a total of 11 attribute points.
——A rather strange reward.
Wu Xiaode curiously glanced at his own attributes:
"World Master: Wu Xiaode."
"Currently awarded 11 attribute points, of which 7 are used to heal the world’s wounds, and 4 are added as boundary force."
"Current boundary force is updated to: 14 points."
He then slightly closed his eyes, silently sensing his world.
Previously, the mere chirping of insects in his world had nearly led to its destruction.
Now, with the attribute points provided by the Chaotic Sequence——
On the wasteland.
Innumerable bottomless cracks were slowly healing.
The temple was also refurbished anew.
Indeed useful!
Wu Xiaode was surprised, not expecting such a result.
"This chaos seems to be quite to my liking..."
He muttered softly and took out some materials to casually browse through.
These materials were the "perpetual motion machine" technical knowledge collected by those five people just now, but it was only some superficial content.
To get the truly key materials, he still needed to go to the research institute.
——Hurry up and go!
Wu Xiaode put away the materials and carefully recalled the architectural features of the research institute while looking towards the city buildings.
He was currently standing at the top of a clock tower, his view extremely vast, and he spotted the research institute at once.
"Over there."
Wu Xiaode spread out the Luminous Flames and soared out, floating through the sky for a distance before securely landing on the rooftop of the research institute building.
Clang!
The moment he landed, Wu Xiaode drew his Butterfly Soul blade.
Because the entire research institute was shrouded in a thin, pale purple fog.
From the outside, when looking in, nothing seemed amiss, but once inside, he immediately discovered that it seemed to have become another world.
Wu Xiaode’s whole body tensed up, ready to launch an attack at any moment.
But after glancing at the scenery outside the building, he suddenly froze.
Looking out from the rooftop of the building——
He saw that the entirety of the Royal Capital outside the research institute had vanished.
On the vast expanse of land, there was nothing.
Only a few structures of the research institute towered in a world devoid of anything else.
"What’s going on here..."
Wu Xiaode murmured, his gaze swiftly moving inside the research institute, quickly catching some abnormal situations.
There was no one.
Or rather——
In Wu Xiaode’s perception, the fog obscured everything around.
"This must be what you call ’Order,’ looks like it’s trying to stop me from getting the perpetual motion machine."
He said softly.
"Be careful!" interrupted the Butterfly Soul blade quickly: "A supremely powerful force is materializing across the Void; this strength should be one of the four True Gods of the Void!"
True God.
——What’s the difference between it and ordinary Divine beings?
Wu Xiaode thought to himself and soon witnessed an unprecedented scene.
A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky and struck the rooftop of the research building.
A massive energy wave ensued, causing the space to collapse on both sides, directly transporting something huge into this world.
——Because he was close, Wu Xiaode could roughly make out that it was an enormous throne completely made of stone.
The throne!
If there was a throne, naturally there was a True God!
Wu Xiaode assumed a defensive posture on the spot.
He waited for a breath.
Two breaths.
Three, four, five, six, seven, eight breaths.
The throne showed no signs of activity.
"Hey, are you sure it’s a Void True God that’s coming?" Wu Xiaode whispered.
"This fluctuation... smells of earth, water, fire, wind, it must be a True God!" said the Butterfly Soul blade.
"Is that so? But where is the person?" Wu Xiaode asked.
"Be careful——oh... I... I don’t know, you explore it yourself," the blade said.
After speaking, Butterfly Soul fell silent.
Wu Xiaode raised his eyebrows.
When the Butterfly Soul blade said "Be careful," its tone carried a serious and vigilant air, but the "oh" that followed seemed to carry a sigh of relief.
By the time it said "I don’t know, you explore it yourself," it seemed to have become somewhat helpless.
——What exactly is going on here?
Confused, Wu Xiaode had no choice but to hold his long blade in front of his chest and move step by step towards the stone-built throne.
On the throne——
There was still no one.
But there was an A4 sheet of paper, placed perfectly straight on the throne.
Wu Xiaode was about to reach out to take it, but then thought it might be a trap, so he didn’t stretch out his hand and instead just looked with his eyes.
He saw that the paper read:
"Leave Request."
"Reporting to the great, respected, beloved, Order·Space-Time Guardian:"
"Hello!"
"As stated in this letter, I report to you!"
"This afternoon I plan to take my brothers and sisters to the Rainbow Garden for a water gun battle, hence I am requesting leave; please approve."
"——Your faithful Fire True God: ’Wipe-Mouth’ Antonio."
This was a very formal leave request, yet the story didn’t end there.
Printed beneath the request was a line of response:
"Antonio, take note, the current situation is absolutely urgent; your leave request is not granted. Please head to that space-time immediately to confront Chaos!"
But it still didn’t end there.
Below was another line of new, crooked text as if tinged with a hint of anger:
"Great Order, I remember that I am entitled to vacation."
The printed font responded again:
"Indeed, you are entitled to vacation, but the situation is urgent, and you have been idle for 3643546 years, please be sure to complete a task."
There was another line below, written hastily and with thick ink, as if the writer’s wrath was almost bursting out:
"Listen, about asking for leave, I’m not an expert on this matter, but after having carefully read your response and pondered for a long time, I still don’t know how to understand the whole leave thing, just like I said from the start—I’m not an expert!"
Another line in printed font:
"You didn’t say anything at all, and by the way, ever since Order invited you 3643546 years ago, you’ve been playing hide and seek, fishing, dancing, singing karaoke, having underground adventures, diving, lying flat, excavating graveyards, pretending to be a ghost, stealing, and sewing yourself into dolls to scare people, please be sure to work once."
The last line of the paper replied:
"Fine, fine, I’ll go, okay? Hehehe... You’ve persuaded me, hehehe..."
That ill-intended feeling came through the paper—
Even Wu Xiaode could feel it!
He silently put down his blade, a strange sensation welling up in his heart.
This Void True God...
From the name, he didn’t recognize him at all.
But...
Why does it give him a feeling of familiarity?
"Oh my god!"
A cry of astonishment suddenly echoed in Wu Xiaode’s ear.
Chris!
She popped out from behind Wu Xiaode’s ear and stamped her foot anxiously:
"I almost forgot, today is the Rainbow Garden water gun competition and I’m assigned as the ’Water Filler’!"
"What is a ’Water Filler’?" Wu Xiaode asked hurriedly.
"It means to check all the water guns and fill them up with water!" Chris explained.
Case solved.
That Fire True God must be a fairy too.
Right.
"That Anthony—"
"Yes, he’s a star player in the water gun fight, and each time he stealthily adds hot pepper water to his gun!" Chris said quickly.
"Isn’t that against the rules?" Wu Xiaode couldn’t help but ask.
"He has never been caught!" Chris said with an admiring tone.
"...And that’s allowed?" Wu Xiaode murmured softly.
"Little Wu, I’m off to ’fill water’ now, and maybe I’ll run into him—wait for me!"
Chris pressed her hands together.
"...Okay, you go, hope you have fun." Wu Xiaode said unenthusiastically.
"Thank you!"
Chris disappeared in an instant.
Wu Xiaode looked at the throne made of piled stones, then back at the leave application on top of it.
All around was silence.
There was no formidable enemy.
Nor was there anyone else to stop him.
—So, if he so chose, the world would go on toward destruction?
"Snap!"
A sound came from the Void.
A fairy with a rainbow-colored sock over her head appeared on the throne.
Chris stood beside him and said softly:
"Anthony! Help please! This is my good Brother Wu, you handle his situation here."
"Hello, want some candy?" Wu Xiaode nodded to him in greeting, peeling off a piece from the Bone Dragon’s collection.
"Ah, yummy," the fairy squinted at Wu Xiaode, muttering under his breath, "You look pretty decent, how come you’re a messenger of chaos?"
Wu Xiaode told him what happened.
The fairy’s eyes lit up.
"Haha, you’ve infiltrated ’chaos’ from the inside? Interesting, too interesting—where is that Chaotic Messenger card then?"
Chris gave Wu Xiaode a wink and transmitted a message:
"Quick, take out that Chaotic Card."
Wu Xiaode did as told and took out the card.
Anthony looked at the card and murmured, "This is going to be a tough job..."
Chris leaned in and whispered in his ear, "Later in the contest, I’ll fill up your hot pepper water."
"The kind that shoots out Luminous Flames when it sprays, you know, my signature hot pepper water," Anthony whispered back.
"Okay, no problem—I’ll bet big on you, you have to win, Anthony." Chris said.
"I’ll do my best," Anthony said.
The two exchanged a glance and nodded to each other.
Anthony then turned his gaze back to Wu Xiaode, looked at the card in his hand, and cleared his throat:
"Brother Wu, right? You are young, with a bright future ahead of you. So, seeing as how friendly you are with the fairy folk, I’ll sort this out for you."
Anthony pulled a water gun from his waist and aimed a stream of water at the card.
Instantly, the card began to sizzle.
A plume of smoke rose.
The smoke formed an image of a Demon that Wu Xiaode had never seen before, as it was attempting to flee—
"Running away?" Anthony scoffed.
He lifted his water gun and sprayed the Demon again with a sizzle.
The Demon dissolved into the air.
"What’s going on?"
Wu Xiaode asked in surprise.
"Your card was manipulated by an unspeakable existence, it was imbued with Evil, using it would only harm you," Anthony smoothly returned the water gun to his side, proudly adding, "—but I’ve killed off its virus."
Wu Xiaode looked at the card.
The black and white card suddenly burst into the hazy brilliance of an oil painting.
The clown’s clothes on it gradually turned colorful.
Two lines of ice crystal small text then appeared:
"’Chaos’ restart successful."
"The complete version of ’Chaos’ is about to begin operation."
