Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion
Chapter 272 - 271: Next ?, undercurrent
"You… my twin brother." Caius' eyes scanned the crowd until they locked onto Darwin.
The audience went wild. They still hadn't recovered from the battle with Vaelen, and yet Caius had already chosen his next prey. But beyond the shock and mind-bursting fight, excitement surged through everyone.
"Not bad," Jake commented, as Darius chuckled.
"Come on, if he brings down the Dreadborne Organization, I'm sure the Chains will delete him from existence, heheh," Darius joked, and Jake nodded.
"Most likely. I mean, they need the Dreadborne to remain in the spotlight. A lot of things are going on—apart from us integrating into society, there are rumors of the Forefathers returning too… not to mention that weird organization," Jake said, his tone like that of an elder speaking to a newcomer.
"How do you know so much? I wasn't informed at all," Darius said, stunned.
"That's because you just became a Cosmic Executioner of the Dreadborne Organization. Of course, you haven't been told yet," Jake explained.
"But then… when do you think they'll make a move?" Darius asked. Jake smiled, which was rare.
After some thought, Jake realized that any move to create his own organization was dangerous. First, there was the risk of being caught and exposed as an alien. Second, he wasn't even strong enough yet to command an army—assuming he could even form one without spies from other groups infiltrating it. And third… the most convincing reason…
He had seen the strength of the Dreadborne Chains. He was well aware of their power and glimpses of their plans, plans that led only to humanity's destruction. So why should he do anything… except survive until the end?
Besides, after that transformation, they weren't human anymore. Which meant Jake could speak to them normally.
Darius looked at Jake, smiling to himself.
"Hmm, seems the Top 1 isn't as cold as everyone thinks," Darius thought.
"When??" Jake finally spoke, his eyes drifting back to Caius and the royal siblings' rivalry.
"It has already begun. This… this is just the first major step of the grand scheme," Jake said, and Darius felt a chill run through him.
"Wait… what? And the royal siblings think this is their own will? That's insane. To be a pawn in the plans of such a terrifying being…," Darius felt so small.
Being a pawn in the plans of a stronger existence wasn't what was truly scary. What was terrifying… was being a pawn and not even knowing it until the moment you were discarded.
"Focus on the match," Jake said, snapping Darius back to reality.
"Ah, yes," Darius muttered, his eyes locking onto the platform. But now, everything he saw was different.
The royal siblings looked like puppets on the strings of a higher power. And the crowd… just another collection of puppets watching a grand play.
It was nerve-racking.

Elsewhere…
While everyone focused on the Federation and the coronation of the king, a different organization was venturing into unknown and forbidden grounds.
"Have you found it?" A sleek male voice spoke—calm, yet dripping with terrifying charm.
The dozens of people around gulped—not in fear, but in reverence. For this was the leader of the Wild Shade Group.
The leading figure among them quickly responded.
"Master, give us some time. Just hold on," a feminine voice replied, filled with worry and anxiety.
"Alright. But I don't have much time," the man said, and silence followed.
The dozens clenched their fists.
They were all dressed in terrifying treasures, each capable of withstanding the attacks of universal experts—even multi-universal realm beings.
These were the top elites of the Wild Shade Group. Their bodies were deformed to varying degrees, some with extra limbs, some with warped body parts.
Their leader was a female with three eyes and two inverted, curved wings.
This group was about to venture into the most dangerous forbidden location of all—
Evertile.
The very name spelled death.
Another name for it was the "Death Ground of Gods."
According to what the master of the Wild Shade had discovered, ages ago, this wasn't just a massive multi-universe—it was once a single plane. A plane divided into three: the Divine Realm, the Mortal Plane, and the Nether. But a catastrophic battle erupted when this plane birthed a terrifying bloodline.
Legend said this bloodline was the solution for gods to evolve into a higher realm. Gods were greedy—more greedy than mortals. Which god would want to remain stuck in their current power forever? So, a war broke out.
Mortals survived… but countless gods fell. And with their fall came the collapse of the plane itself, leaving nothing but fragments across a multi-universe.
As the legends told, a single drop of that blood remained—hidden within Evertile. But the deeper one ventured, the more terrifying it became.
As the Death Ground of Gods resented intruders, spatial disruptions, time distortions, and chaotic energies filled the place. Not to mention the races like the phantom beings that thrived on its immense evil energy.
"Once we enter, our lives and deaths will be uncertain. We may be scattered, lost, or thrown into endless war. But do not stop looking until you find that drop of blood. Do it for our master… and for the Wild Shade Group," the leader commanded, her voice booming.
The group's expressions hardened with determination.
"For at the dawn of the end, our master shall rise and purge this world of its filth!" she declared.
The crowd echoed:
"For at the dawn of the end, our master shall rise and purge this world of its filth!"
With that, they entered Evertile. Immediately, screams rang out.
*********
A day later…
The entrance resembled the mouth of a massive void beast, drawing everything into its darkness.
After a day of silence, something finally moved. A body fell out.
Cough… cough…
The female leader lay on the ground, trembling, eyes closed. Hours passed before she finally opened them, gasping for air.
"Master… master, I got it…" she whispered, her eyes losing their luster.
She could barely think. The horrors of that place had made even a multi-universal realm being collapse. She felt drained to her very core.
"Good girl… but I have little time left. Will you even make it?" the sleek male voice spoke again.
Her expression hardened with anger.
"Master, don't you dare say that," she said, before blending into space and disappearing.
Where she had stood, the entrance collapsed, sealing Evertile shut.
As for the other multi-universal realm beings? They were trapped inside—if they were even alive at all.
