Inside the estate, Penny still stared at the direction Osvaldo ran through. Her body itched to follow him, but her father’s grip was iron, and the Adkins lawyers flanked her like walls.

"In their words, their master was just fine and there was really no need for her to run after him. She would just be stressing herself."

But Penny wasn’t fine.

She didn’t understand why they all seemed relaxed. The Osvaldo she saw didn’t look fine at all. What if the overdose was working today?

What if he’s going to remain like this forever? She couldn’t bare to lose him. Her teeth sank into her lower lip as fear spread through her chest.

Her blue eyes met the now destroyed items on the floor and sighed. Maybe she should have accepted the gifts rather than Osvaldo destroying them all.

But what use were they to her? It’s not like she was going to wear them. If everything she heard right now was true, it meant Osvaldo had held Ariana and the other girls that hurt her hostage.

"Mr Bloodworth, let’s all go inside while we wait for my master to return." Timothy the head lawyer said to the man who still held his daughter tightly like she would disappear if he let her go. Xavier would never forgive himself if anything happened to her.

After whatever he witnessed today, he didn’t want Penny to be with the madman anymore. That man could harm his child and all they would tell him is that he’s mad and not in the right state of mind.

"Why would I wait for a Madman’s return?" Xavier asked.

We’re these people alright at all? How are they comfortable living with a madman? Aan who could hurt them at any time.

When they reached inside the mansion, Xavier’s eyes narrowed at how larvished the place was. This did not look like a Madman’s den at all. It looked beautiful, standard, larvish... What the hell was going on?

The penthouse looked different from the information he got from his assistant Brown. Right now, that man seems so useless to him.

At the same time, Darlington stepped out of a corner, he was in his lab attire. He has been in the lab for hours waiting for his grandson and grand daughter in law to bring the plants be had asked for.

Darlington thought both people might have lost their way so he can put to check for them.

These days he spends most time in the lab trying to mix chemicals and a few experiment for his grandson.

All Darlington wanted was for his grandson to be okay. Though he isn’t as smart as his son, he had learnt a few things from him while he was alive. Dewitt was a genius, but he fears Osvaldo is an even greater genius than his father.

"Penelope?" Darlington called. "Where are the herbs and where’s that rascal?" The old man’s eyes shifted to Xavier and a small frown formed on his face. Xavier Bloodsworth isn’t his favorite person but he was Penny’s father so he could let him pass.

He wondered what the man was doing here now. Did he not realize Penny was his grand daughter in law and that she was going no where?

"Mr Bloodsworth." Darlington called his eyes glancing at the Adkins lawyers and then back at Xavier Bloodsworth.

"What brings you to our home at this hour?" Darlington tried to be cordial with him, even though he knew this man was far from being that. He should be treated like the rude bastard he is. He gritted his teeth.

This man reminds him so much of his grandson. Speaking of which, where the hell is that boy?

"What does it look like?" Xavier asked.

"I’m here to see my child. Do you think she doesn’t have anyone." Xavier glared at the old man.

This man used to be all powerful in the past. The most feared man on earth, but now, he’s just some old fool, in a lab coat. His grey hair rose in strand’s, Xavier thought maybe he was probably mixing one of his chemicals and herbs. He just hopes they keep his child away from those madness while he tried to get her out of here.

The next time he gets a chance, he would take Penny as far away as possible.

"If that’s the case, welcome to our humble abode. Hughes here is the housekeeper, she’ll take you to your room." Darlington forced a smile.

"She doesn’t have to. I’ll show my dad to his room." Penny chimed to see Darlington smile.

"Alright dear. Take good care of yourself, I’ll go find that rascal." Darlington tapped her shoulder a little.

"No need sir, Master is busy chasing away unwanted guests." Darlington paused to stare at the housekeeper.

"Unwanted guests?" He asked wondering what was happening. Did he miss anything?

He has been so caught up with mixing chemicals and making herbs that he had no idea what was happening or what had happened.

What unwanted guests was Osvaldo chasing away?

"The families of the people that hurt Miss Penny. It seems master wasn’t pleased with their gifts." Hughes explained.

"Or he was just displaying his madness again. Like I said before, a madman has no business with normal people." Xavier said. He had no idea why his silly child had been desperate to live with that man.

Maybe it’s his fault too. If he had arrived earlier rather than watching her from afar, maybe she wouldn’t be a victim of the madness now.

His only happiness was that Penny didn’t have a scratch on her skin. She looked okay to him.

"But master wasn’t mad at all." Hughes laughed. That was just Osvaldo doing what he loved to do best. Scare people with his madness. How could they not see he was just having fun.

"Where’s the old fool now Barnaby?" Osvaldo’s deep voice echoed in the lounge as he stepped in. His step was calm, commanding, and just then, his golden eyes met the grey ones standing next to his Penguin. He frowned.

"Seems like I found him." He murmured sarcastically.

"Welcome to my home father in law. I hope you enjoy your stay." His eyes shifted to Penny who frowned at him. She didn’t like the way he addressed her father, but her father wasn’t good either. Both men just love getting at each other like children.

Osvaldo was important to her and so was her father. Couldn’t they just learn to live with each other without fighting?

"I don’t need your greeting madman." Xavier bickered to see the madman smile.

"Of course."

"What happened Osvaldo. Who were the people you chased?" Darlington turned to his grandson. Osvaldo’s eyes shifted to his penguin and then he turned to Hughes. The housekeeper didn’t wait for her master to speak.

"Miss Penny, sir Bloodworth, please come with me." Both people started following Hughes away. Penny glanced one time at Osvaldo before walking away.

She had suspected that he was pretending, but she never knew it would be true. How did Osvaldo act so well that had everyone thinking he was really mad?

When they reached before a door, Hughes pushed the door open for Xavier and his daughter to step in.

"This is your room father, feel at home okay." Penny said with a smile.

"Can you leave us?" Xavier turned to the housekeeper and Hughes bowed and turned to leave.

Once he was sure the housekeeper was out of sight, he turned to his daughter.

"Only the truth Penelope, did they force you into this?" He asked.

"Why...?"

"It’s possible Penelope." Xavier interupted her. "Did you read the contract carefully before signing? Are they blackmailing you?" He held her hands in his, pulling her close.

"You can tell your father anything baby, that’s why I’m here. To save you from this mess." Penny frowned immediately. She wasn’t forced into any of these. If anything, it was quite the contrary.

Maybe at first she was and wanted to leave, but right now, she didn’t want to leave Osvaldo’s side anymore.

"Are you hurt anywhere? Are you hiding anything from me?"

She could understand her father was concerned like any father would for his child.

"I wasn’t father." Penny said. "I’m not hurt. I’ve rather been treated like a queen by Osvaldo father. You saw the gifts yourself." Xavier frowned.

It couldn’t be possible that his child had fallen in love with that mad boy! Oh this was what he was avoiding.

He gritted his teeth, the madman had stolen his child finally.

Over at the lounge, Osvaldo brought out the herbs from his front pocket as he handed them over to his grandfather.

"This doesn’t answer my question Osvaldo."

"You said I should let the people that hurt Penny go. I just did what you asked." He said calmly.

"You can give Barnaby his voice now, I think he’s learnt his lesson." Barnaby who was standing next to his master suddenly smiled.

Did he hear correctly? His voice?
