Ariana stepped out of her class after getting a call about Abby’s legs being amputated. It was midweek and she had just concluded her final exams when Chris’s call came through.

"I’ll see you girls tomorrow." She waved her fellow fat friends a good bye before stepping inside her car.

She had never sat down to write her exams before, she always had the money to pay, but recently, her parents didn’t have any money anymore.

The Willard’s family have cut all ties with her father and her uncle’s have taken over the family company since her father was incapable. Their life was a mess right now.

Her uncle’s have refused to support them financially, in their defense, they said her parents medical bills was consuming more then necessary so they had to cut other expenses.

They had sent all of their maids away, gave her little supply of food and all.

Not only was she so broke now, she had just discovered Miss Pen had canceled her science program indefinitely. She had no idea why everything was going this way. How was she supposed to lose the extra weight now?

Miss Pen had been her only hope at changing, at shitting on Penny’s face again. At showing her sister she was nothing.

Ari hated her new life and to make matters worse, she was now to visit the hospital on a regular to take care of Abby and her parents who haven’t returned since they left. David and Maybelline have not stopped farting and she couldn’t stand the sight of them.

Chris was on some delusional shit about people being after him and that he couldn’t leave the house. Gregory said he was too old to do all the work and they couldn’t afford any maid at the moment.

"We’re here ma’am." The chauffer announced and Ari stepped out. Her lips moved as she chewed on the last peace of burger she had bought from a shop. Licking sugar from her fingers as she walked stepped out of the car.

Her eating habit haven’t seemed to improve a bit, no matter the drug or injection she took. The doctors had placed on a year of saxenda and nothing seems to change. She didn’t lose her appetite neither did she lose weight.

Once again, Osvaldo has discovered something huge. Something that his enemies were now so interested in. They wanted to know who Xavier’s daughter was that has turned people so fat within a week without killing them. And how she lost so much weight within a month without any lose skin.

It was truly a mystery, but the young girl was attached to the madman. He couldn’t get to her, she seems so untouchable.

History could be repeating itself again and this time he had to be fast to gain from it. Just like before, he needed to befriend Xavier, he’s the only person closer to Penelope and then he could strike again.

Ari moved gently through the halls, eyes dull as she searched for Abby’s room. She was already exhausted from the thought of taking care of her stupid mother in law.

She had a lot on her mind, she was scared she wouldn’t pass her exams this time. If she didn’t, then her family would know she’s a quack doctor and was never in school. They’d find out Penny had been the one helping all this time.

Now she thought of it, she had no idea how her dumb illiterate sister has helped her pass her test and exams in the past, making her the best student in the entire school. Past and present.

Every question given looked like child’s play to Penelope. She answered them with ease.

"I’m here to see Mrs Peterson." Abby said to the receptionist.

"She’s in the general ward 18." Abby narrowed her eyes. Why was her mother in law in the general ward.

Ari’s steps was slow as she reached the ward. When she stepped in, she saw Abby by the side of the room with several other people she thought to be the other patients who were admitted too.

Children and adults that just stared at her the moment she walked in. She could already tell what was in their minds but she cared less.

Aris gaze shifted to Abby who looked like she was sleeping, one leg cut out and the other still attached to her body.

"Ariana." Gregory called the moment he saw her. He had a smile on his lips but Ariana didn’t smile back. "How are you?"

"How is she?" She asked ignoring his questions.

"She’s sleeping for now. She hasn’t stopped crying since they cut off her legs, so the doctors gave her some sleeping pills." Gregory explained.

"And Chris?"

"He just left. But he’ll be back by tomorrow." Gregory said.

"Is it over?" Ariana stared at Abby’s legs. "Is it going to come back?"

"I hope not. The doctor said we should pray the virus hadn’t spread far to her stomach. That would be bad." Greg said. Ariana understood his statement, that would mean Abby would die.

But wouldn’t death be better than being tied here to a woman who’s supposed to have died anyway.

"I have an evening shift at work and need to be there Ariana. Can you fill in for me? You wouldn’t need to do much since your mother in law is asleep. I’ll be back tomorrow to take your place." Gregory said softly.

Ari watched him pack his bag but before he could leave, she stretched out her hands before him.

"If I’m going to stay here, you feed or give me money." She said.

"Ariana, how could you say that. She’s your mother in law." Greg said.

"And she’s your wife. Pay now or I leave!!!" Gregory hesitated but he dropped a few cash in her hands. He had no idea his daughter in law was this greedy,after everything they have done for her.

"Make sure you take good care of her." At that, Gregory left the room.

Ariana was about to seat when a hand grabbed her, she turned to see a little child holding her hands.
