CHAPTER 423: CHAPTER 423: ACTUALLY, HE DOESN’T LIKE ME THAT MUCH 3

Chloe Grant watched coldly, her gaze landing on Molly Polis, who was walking over with documents in hand.

As Molly was about to come over, Chloe signaled with her eyes for her not to.

"Thanks for your concern. I fell from my dorm bed before, and now I have this chronic back pain."

Chloe appeared casual and relaxed, turning to leave... but then, she suddenly stopped.

She turned back, took out her phone, "Why don’t you give me your WeChat. Someone sent me a photo yesterday showing you entering the bathroom right after the former station manager did. I should send it to you, so it doesn’t accidentally get to the current manager and harm your reputation."

Chloe’s seemingly nonchalant words dropped like a bomb in the office.

Lily Grant’s face changed in an instant.

Feigning a moment’s forgetfulness, Chloe said, "Oh, I forgot, I already have your WeChat. I’ll send it to you directly. Remember, keep it from the new manager, or you’ll be in trouble."

She said it leisurely and didn’t care about Lily’s unpleasant expression, while others around looked surprised and as if suddenly realizing something about Lily.

Chloe turned back, went to her desk, and started organizing some work she missed from not being there yesterday.

Chloe continued working; she could feel that ever since her little performance, the office had been gossiping about Lily being the employee with an inappropriate relationship with the former manager.

But Lily is leaning on Sophia Fraser.

With the Fraser family protecting her, no one dared to touch her, of course.

Moreover, there were two reasons the office gossip focused solely on Lily having an inappropriate relationship with the former manager.

First, that morning, Lily tried to bite back at Chloe, claiming she lingered in a box the day before. But Chloe quickly shut her up. Later, the company’s internal network posted some photos—exactly what Chloe mentioned—of Lily entering the restroom right after the former manager and not coming out until after a dozen minutes.

Second, during the morning meeting, the new manager mentioned needing two people to co-host a relaxed, comedic program. Originally, it was supposed to be anchor Lu Shuang and Lily, but the new manager overturned the decision and said they needed to be reevaluated.

These back-and-forth events naturally sparked rumors of Lily having an inappropriate relationship with the former manager, explaining why she came out on top among three interns vying for one position.

Of course, some mocked Lily, saying she did so much, yet it all came to nothing.

At 6:30 PM, half an hour past office hours.

Among the anchors staying behind to record overtime, only Chloe Grant and Lily Grant were left organizing materials in the office.

Chloe was diligently focused on her documents, while Lily sat there doing nothing, her gaze fixed on Chloe.

When Chloe finally put down her documents and started packing to leave, Lily stood up and walked over to Chloe.

She slammed a palm on the desk, "Chloe Grant, I never expected you to become such a bitch over two years!"

"So what?" Chloe replied with a cold laugh.

Lily glared fiercely, her eyes widening, but couldn’t come up with a retort.

Clearly, she had not expected Chloe to respond with such a question...
