Addicted After Marriage: Marrying My Abstinent Boss
Chapter 141: That Stubborn Guy Is His Dad
CHAPTER 141: CHAPTER 141: THAT STUBBORN GUY IS HIS DAD
"Manager Morgan also knows Professor Fumble?" Annie asked out of nowhere.
Annie became famous overnight; everyone in this circle knows her name.
The people standing nearby all respectfully greeted Annie.
Sophia noticed that not only Annie, but Warren Jennings was also not far away.
She wondered how their conversation went last night; Annie didn’t mention it, and she didn’t ask.
"..." Beau Morgan.
Beau Morgan thought that would be the end of it for today, but she didn’t expect Annie to appear at this moment, giving her the feeling of just surfacing only to be pushed underwater again by others.
Suffocating, on the brink of despair.
Fortunately, Annie didn’t say anything more afterward.
Last night, Sophia and Annie collaborated, mutually beneficial, so Annie naturally knew that Professor Fumble was Sophia.
Hearing Beau’s conversation, it was like hearing a joke.
Annie glanced at Vivian Hale hiding behind Beau Morgan and sneered coldly.
Everyone knew about their relationship, but no one dared to speak about it.
Although Vivian Hale is with a rich man, Annie herself is wealthy, so her status is self-evident.
At this moment, Vivian Hale also noticed Warren Jennings not far away; she found an excuse and slipped away hastily.
Sophia linked arms with Annie and said softly, "Let’s go."
Annie said nothing more and left with Sophia.
"Why did Warren Jennings come with you?" Sophia glanced at the man in the distance.
Annie sighed, "This man refuses to divorce no matter what. The 30-day cooling-off period is over, and he’s deliberately avoiding me."
Sophia smiled, "Maybe he changed his mind. Aren’t you going to give him a chance?"
"I’ve given him a chance. When he got together with Vivian Hale, I was already prepared to leave. I used to think that pretending not to know, letting him do whatever he wants, we could all live in peace. But later, when he brought her home and allowed her to run wild over me, I knew this kind of man could be found everywhere on the street."
Annie seemed to have let everything go, "The lawyer has already started preparing to file for divorce. Recently, I was too kind, thinking about a peaceful divorce. Now not only do I want a divorce, but I also want all the money he spent on Vivian Hale back!"
Sophia nodded slightly, not responding.
"Sophia!" A deep middle-aged male voice broke into their conversation.
Sophia followed the voice to see a tall, thin middle-aged uncle in casual wear walking towards her, accompanied by two bodyguards in suits.
This pairing made it seem like the two bodyguards were kidnapping him.
"Uncle Sinclair, what are you doing here?" Sophia, holding Annie’s hand, went up to meet him.
Charles Sinclair, Ethan Sinclair’s father, had met Sophia many times during class reunions at their family’s horse ranch, and Sophia made a particularly deep impression on him.
Both Ethan and Sophia skipped grades continuously, always ending up in the same grade. Charles Sinclair had even tried to match them up, but neither had the intention. Otherwise, they would have been family by now.
"Wow, you look more and more beautiful!" Charles Sinclair praised, then glanced at Annie.
Annie nodded to him, and Charles Sinclair smiled and nodded back.
"You’re flattering me, Uncle Sinclair. I didn’t expect to run into you here."
Charles Sinclair frowned and said, "I don’t like these kinds of banquets. If it weren’t for Ethan dragging me here, I’d rather stay home. I haven’t even finished watching ’Empresses in the Palace’!"
Sophia and Annie chuckled.
He mumbled his complaints, looking around, "Where’s that rascal?"
"He’s still inside socializing." Sophia glanced at Zane Sterling and Ethan Sinclair not far away.
Zane Sterling was holding a glass of red wine, chatting with two executives, occasionally taking a sip.
Sophia smiled slightly; her man’s charm was evident. This was the first time she’d seen Zane Sterling work so seriously.
"Oh, this lousy job doesn’t suit him. He just won’t listen; there’s a whole lot of affairs at home going unhandled." Charles Sinclair’s gaze fell on Ethan Sinclair.
Although Ethan Sinclair was just an assistant, his long time with Zane Sterling had instilled an indelible aura in him.
Charles Sinclair even mistook him at a glance; was this still his carefree rascal of a son?
Dressed up to the nines, he actually looked a bit like a domineering CEO now.
Sophia only knew his family ran a horse ranch but didn’t know anything about its scale.
The first time she met Charles Sinclair, he was wearing flip-flops, holding a hoe in one hand, in shorts and a worn-out vest, working with a large straw hat.
No wonder Ethan Sinclair didn’t like going home to help.
"Sophia, I’m heading home first. He’s exhausted." Annie whispered beside her.
She naturally referred to the baby in her belly.
Right on cue, her assistant arrived too.
"Take care." Sophia.
"Will do." Annie said, nodding to Charles Sinclair.
Charles Sinclair also smiled and told her to be careful.
Annie left, just as Zane Sterling and Ethan Sinclair finished their conversation, their eyes falling on Sophia and Charles Sinclair.
"Uncle, you’re not here to catch him, are you?" Sophia teased.
Charles Sinclair watched his son walking towards him with a steady gait.
This kid seemed to have grown up, looking much more mature, with a calm demeanor.
"Catch him? Impossible." Charles Sinclair knew his son’s nature, "Is that his boss next to him?"
"Yes, Ethan’s boss." Sophia paused, "and my husband."
"Quite handsome. Ethan is lucky to have such a boss." Charles Sinclair nodded, suddenly turning his head to look at Sophia, just realizing, "Your husband?"
Sophia smiled, "Yes, my husband."
"President Sinclair." Zane Sterling extended his hand to Charles Sinclair, and they shook hands.
Zane Sterling’s gaze remained on Sophia, as if asking: you know each other too?
Sophia smiled, keeping her lips pressed together.
Ethan Sinclair introduced to Charles Sinclair, "My boss, Zane Sterling from Sterling Group."
"Truly young and promising!" Charles Sinclair was generous with his praise and then turned his attention to Ethan: "And you?"
He wasn’t asking about Ethan’s position, but rather challenging him. With such a wealthy family, why not come back and inherit the family business and become a CEO himself?
Ethan smiled sheepishly and humbly asked, "Old man Sinclair, give me some face..."
Zane Sterling frowned, old man Sinclair?
"Your dad?" he asked in surprise.
Ethan laughed awkwardly, "Yes, my dad, my real dad."
Indeed, that stubborn man was his father.
Zane Sterling chuckled to himself.
What a coincidence indeed.
Later, Zane Sterling and Charles Sinclair went to a nearby lounge to talk business.
Meanwhile, Sophia and Ethan sat on an outdoor picnic bench, listening to music and eating sweets.
"Young Master Sinclair, you hide it well! Not even I knew!" Sophia clinked her glass with his.
Ethan leaned back against the chair, taking a sip of wine, "I haven’t really; my family does own a horse ranch."
It was indeed a horse ranch, but they had control over the entire Azian Sector, with most of their horses exported overseas. Most high-class families’ horses came from the Sinclair Family.
The horse ranch was just the tip of the iceberg for the Sinclair Family.
The Sinclair Family kept a low profile, living at the foot of the mountain by the horse ranch. Charles Sinclair hardly socialized, preferring to stay at home unless it was absolutely necessary for business.
Yet as some people are, even lying down they can make money.
"Hugh Irving’s city-center apartment, yours?" Sophia asked.
Ethan grinned without responding.
Who else could it be?
When Hugh Irving was buying the house, he even asked Sophia if Ethan Sinclair was trustworthy since the price he offered was far below market value.
Looking at it now, everything made sense.
