CHAPTER 95: CHAPTER 95: OVERFLOWING BOYFRIEND POWER

When she woke up the next day, her left hand was sore—

She lifted her eyelids and saw a furnace in front of her.

Zane had wrapped his arms around her waist, and his legs were entwined with hers, holding her like a rag doll, fitting snugly together.

For once, he hadn’t gotten up early, but this position...

She could clearly feel it.

But since he was still asleep, Sophia didn’t pay much attention.

She shifted her body and was met with his exquisite face, unable to resist poking Zane’s nose, her slender fingers tracing his brows.

His eyelashes were extraordinarily beautiful, not curled, but unusually straight and cool.

Suddenly, her gaze landed on the softest part of him, those lips that had besieged her last night.

She traced them with her fingertip, soft and slightly red.

Yet it was those lips that kept her awake all night.

She had suffered, neither here nor there, all night long.

She clandestinely kissed him.

Sophia couldn’t help but marvel that she could sleep next to such a handsome man.

Her heart inexplicably raced.

She didn’t know why, even though they’d done everything, she still felt shy.

She touched her own face, it was burning.

She suddenly felt yellow-ish.

Zane sighed, tightening his hold on her, "Sweetheart, this isn’t good..."

"??"

When did he wake up?

Sophia hurriedly tried to retreat, but it was too late.

Zane caught her other hand from last night and tucked it under the covers.

——

They finally got out of bed after ten o’clock.

Now, both hands were sore.

Sophia sat on the sofa, rubbing her wrists, watching Zane pack his luggage.

She muttered under her breath, beast...

Zane glanced at her pouting face and chuckled softly, "If you want to scold me, you can do it openly, I can handle it."

Sophia quickly retorted, "I didn’t scold you."

"The word ’beast’ might as well be plastered on my face."

She murmured, "How did you know..."

——

The car drove into The Sterling Manor.

This was Sophia’s second time at The Sterling Family’s ancestral home.

A grand castle with a large lawn surrounding it.

Zane mentioned that their ancestors were in the wine business, and this castle was built by his great-grandfather for his spouse. Though the exterior was slightly weathered, the inside was well-preserved, mostly modernized.

Zane’s uncle and aunt had also returned from abroad, along with his cousins and their twin sons.

At that moment, they were all gathered on the outdoor lawn, setting up a grill, planning to barbecue and sing in the evening.

This arrangement was probably Grandpa Sterling’s idea, perhaps a hangover from the last time he had fun at karaoke.

The car stopped, and Sophia got out from the passenger seat.

Zane was still in the driver’s seat, making a phone call, with one foot on the ground.

He glanced at the people playing on the lawn not far away, then retracted his gaze.

Sophia walked around the front of the car, standing by the driver’s side, also watching Grandpa Sterling in the distance.

Just then, she heard a peculiar sound behind her, panting and heading her way.

As she was about to turn, she saw a dog with long fur charging towards her!

"Ah!" she screamed in fright!

In an instant, she darted back into the car, slamming the door shut!

Locking outside the dog that stood taller than her.

It bared its fangs outside the door, its long red tongue hanging beside its wolf teeth, huffing and scratching the car door.

Zane sat frozen in the driver’s seat, not daring to move.

He parted his lips, swallowing dryly, his Adam’s apple bobbing wildly.

Because at the moment, she was sitting on his lap, half leaning against him.

She gripped the car door with one hand and his shoulder with the other.

The pose was so intimate it made one blush.

Sophia’s heart was in her throat, watching the dog outside the door, she dared not move.

At this point, she seemed to realize something.

She cautiously turned around, looking at Zane who was right in front of her.

His brows were furrowed, and he asked in a hoarse voice, "Afraid of dogs?"

"Hmm..."

Her eyes welled up, and Zane could feel her body trembling slightly.

Zane locked the car doors, placing his hands on her waist.

"Would tonight be okay?"

"Hmm?"

At such a serious moment, he actually asked such an improper question.

In the enclosed car, their heavy breathing could faintly be heard.

Sophia felt his change, wanting to get off his lap, but he held her waist firmly.

He leaned closer, eyes brimming with affection, and unexpectedly kissed her on the corner of her mouth.

She smelled so good.

"Is it clean now..." he asked.

"Zane, I didn’t mean to." Sophia reached to stop his hand from lifting her shirt, "Don’t mess around!"

He smirked, not wanting to hear a word.

Sophia really wanted to bury her head.

Not far away, having heard the commotion, several people walked over. Zane kneaded her hip.

Reluctantly, he wrapped his arms around her waist, effortlessly lifting her from his lap to the passenger seat.

"Don’t worry, it doesn’t bite." Zane chuckled.

Sophia quickly withdrew her hand from his.

Wow, his boyfriend strength is this strong?!

Picked her up so effortlessly?

Zane rolled down the car window.

"Fool! You scared my wife!" Zane reprimanded harshly.

"!!" Sophia was startled by his tone.

Wait!

This dog is also called Fool?!

Really got a laugh out of her.

"Whimper~"

The dog withdrew its paws from the window, retreating a meter.

"Sit down!"

It was the first time Sophia had heard him speak so sternly, it sent a chill down her spine.

The dog obediently sat down, panting with its tongue out, wagging its tail as it awaited orders.

Zane glanced away, pulling back his head. "An Afghan Hound, it’s been trained to be very gentle, don’t be afraid."

"Okay." Sophia’s nerves were still tense.

"Just wait in the car for a bit."

"Okay." She let out a sigh of relief.

She watched as Zane got out of the car, walking towards Fool like an old friend, arms wide open.

Fool instantly dashed over, nuzzling affectionately in his embrace.

Zane patted its head, murmuring something to it, glanced back at her in the car, then released his hold.

Knock knock—

The car window was tapped.

Sophia snapped back to reality, lowering the window.

A woman resembling a breeze came into view.

The woman had long straight black hair, looking competent.

Wearing a long tailored blazer, her aura immediately heightened.

Beside her stood a man with a steady expression, half-smiling.

"Sophia?" The woman’s voice was as pleasant as a nightingale, "I’m Willow, Zane’s sister."

Sophia paused.

Zane was handsome, but she hadn’t expected his sister to be this stunning as well.

She was in a daze.

Willow chuckled softly.

Sophia glanced over at the other side, where the dog sat obediently on the lawn, realizing she should get out of the car, lest it appear impolite.

"Sorry for making a scene." She carefully opened the car door and got out.

"It’s okay, it was our oversight." Willow said.

At this point, the man beside her extended his hand, "I’m Zane’s brother-in-law, Ian Lynch."

"Sophia Lowell."

They shook hands briefly.

Zane then walked over.

The dog sat a short distance away, wagging its tail, but didn’t follow.
