Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him
Chapter 110: My Husband Treats Me So Well
CHAPTER 110: CHAPTER 110: MY HUSBAND TREATS ME SO WELL
Natalie’s scenes were delayed to a few days later due to the sudden replacement of the female lead. With such a big production, the crew couldn’t afford to halt filming for too long.
The afternoon belonged to Quinn and Julian’s scenes.
Natalie had slept for too long, so Zane brought her to the set. Partly to learn, partly to watch a good show.
Felix finally had a legitimate reason to come, so how could he not see Quinn? Even if Quinn was acting opposite Julian, performing emotional scenes, he’d still watch.
Whenever Natalie went out, she paid attention to her appearance; not because she lacked confidence, but because the Vaughn Family had taught her social etiquette from an early age.
Even while sitting in a wheelchair, Natalie wore a convenient long dress, paired with a blanket in matching colors. Her hair was casually gathered with a clip, a few strands falling on the side of her face, adding a touch of grace.
As for Zane, he abandoned the black jacket and wore a beige turtleneck sweater to match Natalie.
His features were exquisite, yet his facial structure was strong. His overall demeanor had a hint of wildness; even in gentler clothes, he managed to carry an air of roguishness.
Though to say it clashed wouldn’t be right either, given that his height and build were like a perfect hanger, making everything look good on him.
Being accustomed to Zane’s cool and charming look, seeing him in such a fresh outfit was indeed quite interesting.
Natalie opened her arms towards Zane, and the man thought she wanted a hug.
"Why so clingy?"
Though teasing with his words, his body was honest, and before waiting for Natalie’s reply, Zane bent down.
Natalie, however, reached out and tugged at his cheek.
"Can you stop being so stern? Summer is too frightened to speak."
Zane raised an eyebrow.
"Blame me?"
Well, it can’t exactly be blamed on him.
Zane wasn’t really stern. The most aloof thing about him was his indifferent eyes, as if he didn’t regard people at all. Combined with that almost imperceptible curve of his lips, there’s an air of disdain.
No trespassing.
But Natalie liked his arrogant, rebellious, and explosive demeanor.
Today, the weather in Veridia was overcast with a light rain drifting through the air. Zane held a clear umbrella in one hand and pushed the wheelchair with the other.
The two emerged from the grey mist, and the beige seemed like a light taking a lazy day off.
The girl in the wheelchair was gentle yet spirited and playful, the man behind her creating a silent world for her, occasionally leaning down to listen to her softly spoken words.
It was like a beautiful painting, the times tranquil and serene.
But some couldn’t stand such beauty; upon discovering today that Quinn and Julian would have a kissing scene, Felix’s mood soured significantly. Now, Natalie and Zane’s harmonious and loving display was practically a soul-deep provocation.
"With such cold weather, Mr. Thorne, you’re too insensitive not to give your wife a coat."
Having spent so much time around Zane, Felix had also become someone whose emotions were enigmatic and hard to decipher. But today, Natalie saw a telling irritation in his eyes.
Glancing at the pair rehearsing, Natalie raised an eyebrow; no wonder Felix was so upset.
Because of the kissing scene, the two were very close together, and from her angle, Julian practically had Quinn’s arms pulled into his embrace.
Natalie, having read the script, knew that during actual filming, the two would be even closer.
If he’s this upset now, what about later?
At those words, Zane glanced at Felix, and once they reached the eaves, he put down the umbrella, squatted beside Natalie, and held her hand. Feeling the warmth in her palm, he adjusted the blanket on her legs.
The series of movements was fluid and subtly cheeked Felix.
Isn’t he insensitively practical? Yet he knows well how to care for others?
Seeing Felix still wearing a coat, Natalie, as if feeling he wasn’t upset enough, lowered her head and planted a kiss on Zane’s cheek.
"My husband takes good care of me."
"..."
Whether Felix was incensed was unclear to Natalie, but Zane chuckled because of her gesture. Both had high looks and charm, plus no actresses had ever flaunted their affection so openly on set, drawing almost everyone’s eyes towards them.
Including Quinn.
Just as Quinn turned her head towards Natalie, her gaze accidentally collided with Felix’s unexpectedly. Quinn’s pupils constricted, lashes quivering slightly, she withdrew her gaze somewhat flustered and bowed her head.
Why is he here?
Julian noticed her anomaly, tried to suppress the itchiness in his throat, and asked in a low voice.
"What’s wrong?"
Quinn only then realized how closely she was positioned with Julian, a posture easy to misinterpret. Without thought, she stood abruptly, causing Julian to stagger back.
Seeing this, Quinn quickly reached out, but Julian had already stabilized himself.
This commotion quickly refocused everyone’s attention on them.
Including Felix.
Quinn frowned with frustration; even her adept emotional management seemed clumsy at the moment. Julian, being part of the Sutton Family, had heard some rumors, but couldn’t confirm them, however Quinn’s reaction today verified the story.
The rumor that Langdon’s princeling was toyed with by a woman, entered the entertainment industry as revenge for love.
Could the formidable woman of the tales be Quinn? Julian pondered briefly, recalling rumors about Quinn being targeted by The Langdon Group.
Julian was famously gentle and elegant in circles, but that was only a public persona. Though not a bad person, he couldn’t be classified as good either; occasionally, he’d indulge in the wicked delight of others’ discomfort.
"Do you need my help?"
Still recovering from a cold, his voice was hoarse and low, just loud enough for Quinn alone to hear.
"Huh?"
Quinn didn’t understand Julian’s words, but he offered no time for her to. Felix was watching intently, and if Quinn kept foolishly standing, she’d be exposing more of herself.
With that thought, Julian reached out and pulled Quinn back into his embrace, leaned down toward her ear.
"I’ll help annoy that man."
Quinn froze; Julian chuckled softly, calling her by her character’s name. Following the script, their actions were justified, all would believe it’s just acting without suspicions.
But there were still cameras rolling; Julian smoothly delivered a few lines, taking advantage of an interval to whisper into Quinn’s ear again.
"Great Actress Quinn, you don’t know how to upset an ex?"
Quinn completely regained her composure, breathed deeply twice to steady herself, lifted her brow, smirked, gaze turning sultry.
Instantly transforming into the captivating Xiang-niang from the play, seamlessly delivering her lines.
So intimate, so affectionate, so perfect.
Felix exploded with rage.
