CHAPTER 26: CHAPTER 26: THEODORE LANGDON HAS ABSOLUTELY NO ATHLETIC TALENT

Zane Thorne received Theodore Langdon’s message while having a meal with a few racers from the club right after their competition. Seeing the first message, he frowned, unsure of what the kid was up to again. Just as he was about to put down his phone, he noticed the second message with a location.

He paused, squinting at the place name.

Dean Dempsey leaned over at the sight.

"Mr. Thorne, got plans later?"

Zane Thorne turned off his phone and tossed it aside.

"The results of the competition were pretty good."

Dean Dempsey had won the rally race this time, marking the first championship of his career. So as soon as they returned, Zane Thorne invited the brothers to a celebration dinner.

Being praised by Zane Thorne made him even happier than winning the championship. Dean Dempsey felt a bit shy, scratching his head with a blush, stammering without saying much, and finally raised his glass.

"Mr. Thorne, I owe my success to your guidance. Cheers to you."

Zane Thorne took a sip from his glass.

"Keep it up."

Dean Dempsey chuckled foolishly, probably drunk.

"Oh, Mr. Thorne, on race day, two girls came looking for you. One of them was the girl who was looking for you at the bar that night."

Zane Thorne raised his eyebrows, remembering that day when it rained, and Natalie Vaughn took a pretty bad fall.

Dean Dempsey hiccupped and brought out the support banner he’d kept by his side.

"They wanted your autograph."

Zane Thorne lowered his eyes to the words printed on the support banner, staying silent.

"The young girl was wearing a hat, with a chilly face, totally different from in the bar, hic..."

Zane Thorne reached out to take it, refusing other team members who wanted to toast him further with a wave of his hand.

"I have something to do, won’t be keeping you company, enjoy yourselves today."

He then stood up and left the private room.

On a day like this, Zane Thorne couldn’t avoid drinking, but he didn’t have much. He sat in the car sobering up for a while before heading to the address Theo Langdon sent him.

...

Theodore Langdon, a big boy like that, had surprisingly poor athletic skills. Not to mention the basic movements, he even mixed up a few basic standing postures.

Natalie Vaughn pressed her lips as she watched Theodore Langdon wobble and lose his balance, falling to the ground, finally unable to resist raising her hand to rub her forehead.

No wonder Felix Langdon said Theodore Langdon was daydreaming, and no wonder he suggested arranging more training sessions.

With Theodore Langdon’s pitiful athletic talent, she feared after a few training sessions, he might only manage to learn a few moves, let alone considering shooting a sparring video.

Theodore Langdon’s manager couldn’t bear to watch any longer and left with an excuse. Such a sports idiot, never mind being her artist.

Yet the person involved didn’t sense this, as Theodore Langdon scratched his head frowning.

"Sis, karate is that hard, you’re really something."

Natalie Vaughn’s mouth twitched slightly.

"It’s not that I’m great."

It’s just that you really have no knack for it.

Of course, Natalie Vaughn wouldn’t voice that thought. Although Theodore Langdon learned slowly, he was full of enthusiasm, and she couldn’t crush his confidence.

"Rest for a bit, adjust your state."

Natalie Vaughn went to get some water to hand to him.

Xavier Preston looked at Natalie Vaughn with a hint of apology in his eyes.

"Is it that I’m not teaching well enough?"

Natalie Vaughn shook her head.

"Mr. Spencer, you teach very thoroughly, much better than my brother."

When Natalie Vaughn couldn’t even walk steadily, James Vaughn would drag her to train with him. By the time she was four, she was made to learn alongside him, but most of the time, it was James Vaughn teaching.

James Vaughn, despite having the looks, would only explain things in a general sense, and she was lucky to be smart enough not to stray off course.

Theodore Langdon took a sip of water, catching his breath. Seeing Xavier Preston chatting with Natalie Vaughn again in just a moment, he couldn’t help but frown.

What is Zane up to? Why hasn’t he come yet? Sis is already being eyed by someone else!

"Sis, I’m all rested up!"

Theodore Langdon decided that he’d definitely have Zane treat him to a good meal afterward.

Natalie Vaughn glanced over. Such a small amount of physical activity was nothing to her, but Theodore Langdon’s hair was already damp.

"Are you sure you don’t need more rest?"

Theodore Langdon deftly took a hair tie from his pocket and tied his bangs into a small tuft.

"No need."

Natalie Vaughn nodded, then looked to Xavier Preston.

"Shall we start, Mr. Spencer?"

Xavier Preston adjusted the frame of his glasses, glancing at Theodore Langdon, who made no attempt to hide his cautiousness, and his lips straightened.

This time, Natalie Vaughn didn’t slowly and thoroughly explain the movements. Instead, she recited the instructions smoothly as she had just taught.

She recited while demonstrating, her fundamental skills were excellent, every move was clean and sharp.

Xavier Preston, who was initially standing in line with her, had unknowingly taken two steps back for a better view of her.

As for Theodore Langdon, unfamiliar with the movements already, and since Natalie Vaughn wasn’t intentionally slowing down for him, he hadn’t completed one move before she was already calling out the next, none of them executed correctly.

The difference was too obvious. Theodore Langdon finally realized he might truly have no talent for sports. His clumsy efforts were laughable in contrast to Natalie Vaughn.

Theodore Langdon let out a wail, then lay down on the ground.

"I’m not doing it, why is it so hard!"

The mirror reflected his utterly dejected face.

Maybe because of the little tuft of hair, Natalie Vaughn thought of Theodore Langdon as a young boy, looking up at the camera, she mused, the theme for the first video was set.

Who would believe the cool rapper on stage has zero athletic sense?

Natalie Vaughn handed a towel to Theodore Langdon with a smile.

"I’ll spar with Mr. Spencer briefly, you sit by and watch, then decide whether to learn."

It’s odd, Natalie Vaughn despised spur-of-the-moment decisions and quick abandonments, but Theodore Langdon’s petulant nature somehow seemed endearing.

Theodore Langdon scooted to the side.

"Sis, do you think you can win?"

Natalie Vaughn smiled softly.

"Might be a bit difficult."

Within her weight class of females, her standard was top-notch, but fighting a male, the natural disadvantages made it much tougher for her.

Besides, Xavier Preston had been training a lot longer than her, even James Vaughn wouldn’t necessarily win against him.

Xavier Preston gave a gentle smile.

"Nina’s known in the dojo for being a heroine not outshone by men. It’s quite pressuring to spar with you."

Natalie Vaughn sighed helplessly.

"Mr. Spencer, don’t tease me."

Sitting on the ground, Theodore Langdon watched the two’s back-and-forth, silently noting the unfavorable signs, stood up to the side, and took out his phone.

Meanwhile, the two adjusted their uniforms simultaneously, bowing respectfully to each other.

After sending the message, Theodore Langdon looked up and was stunned.

It wasn’t just a simple sparring session, Natalie Vaughn’s serious gaze clearly meant she wanted a proper match against Xavier Preston.
