CHAPTER 39: CHAPTER 39: THE FACTORY DIRECTOR’S SON (2)

This incident eventually alarmed Liu Xiue and Zhao Dazhuang. Upon hearing that Zhao Meimei was beaten at school, they quickly dropped everything and rushed to the school.

After understanding the incident, learning that the other party not only beat Zhao Meimei but also sent Shi Yang protecting her to the hospital, they became furious.

Zhao Dazhuang had never been this angry in his life, pointing angrily at the parents of the two responsible from the tenth middle school, completely overshadowing them.

Liu Xiue had been busy since last night making broth and soup. In the morning, she dressed Zhao Meimei in clean clothes and took her to visit the hospital with Zhao Dazhuang to see Shi Yang.

Overnight, Zhao Meimei grew much more mature and understanding, obediently following her mother, her mind filled with thoughts of her Brother Yangyang.

Shi Yang had a fracture in his left hand, a crack in his third right rib, a bloody cut at the corner of his eye, and skin scraped off at the end of his left eyebrow, with the rest being superficial injuries. Being fair-skinned and prone to scarring, his injuries swelled overnight, looking very alarming.

The incident was reported, and when the police came to examine him in the morning, seeing Shi Yang in such a state, they looked sympathetic.

Director Shi erupted on the spot, insisting this matter be thoroughly pursued. Getting his son beaten like this was simply intolerable.

Zhao Meimei broke free from her mother’s hand and dashed over.

Liu Xiue called from behind, "Meimei, don’t run!"

Without turning back, Zhao Meimei ran as Shi Yang’s mother, hearing the commotion, turned to see her and quickly greeted her.

Running close, Zhao Meimei cheerfully called out, "Auntie, I came to see my Brother Yangyang."

Shi Yang’s mother reached out, hugged her, and carefully looked at the already bruised handprint on her face, holding her dearly, "Good girl, I heard it all. You protected your Brother Yangyang yesterday. Meimei, you are brave and good."

Zhao Meimei grinned, slipped free from her embrace in haste, and said, "I’m going to see my Brother Yangyang."

Zhao Meimei kicked open the ward door and charged in.

Liu Xiue and Zhao Dazhuang hurriedly followed, seeing Shi Yang’s mother, they quickly inquired about Shi Yang’s condition as the three of them went inside the ward.

Running up to the bedside, Zhao Meimei completely ignored Director Shi standing aside, turning her gaze directly at the person lying on the bed, suddenly startled, eyes wide open.

She barely recognized him!

Shi Yang gave Zhao Meimei a raspy cold snort, "What’s up? Don’t recognize me?"

Zhao Meimei stood with her mouth agape, stunned.

Shi Yang’s left eyebrow bone was swollen high, and his eye squeezed into a slit, with deep bruises around the right eye, the whole face looked swollen, a piece of white gauze was stuck at the corner of his eye.

Shi Yang glared at Zhao Meimei, "What are you staring at? Really don’t recognize me anymore?"

Zhao Meimei grinned and shouted, "Brother Yangyang."

The next moment, she wanted to jump onto the bed, but Director Shi behind her quickly held her back, "Oh my! Meimei, your Brother Yangyang can’t take your bump right now."

Zhao Meimei turned to look, blinked twice and recognized him, greeted, "Hello Uncle."

Director Shi smiled warmly and released his hold, "Hello Meimei."

Zhao Meimei happily reapproached Shi Yang, laughing heartily, "Hahaha..."

Shi Yang struggled a bit with his breathing, his breath heavy. After catching his breath, he said, "What are you laughing at!"

Shi Yang lacked strength, so his complaint, unlike usual, carried fatigue and spilled a lazy tone.

The adults laughed uncontrollably.

Director Shi had heard from Shi Yang’s mother before how well Shi Yang and Zhao Meimei got along, and appreciating the kid, feeling she was amusing, purposely teased, "Meimei, your mom isn’t wrong. You might as well marry into our family and take care of your Brother Yangyang, how about it?"

Zhao Meimei nodded excitedly, "Alright, when I grow up, I’ll marry Brother Yangyang. Brother Chao said I’m his child bride, he was nice to me when I was little, feeding me so he could marry me when grown! Like feeding a pig well to slaughter it for a feast during New Year!"

Shi Yang burst into laughter, jolting his rib painfully, frowning with beads of sweat, laughing and cursing, "You’re talking nonsense... never seen someone... degrade themselves like you!"

Pfft hahaha... The adults laughed so hard they bent over, pointing at Zhao Meimei, saliva spraying out.

Zhao Meimei stayed by Shi Yang’s side unwilling to leave, Liu Xiue had to return to her shop, Zhao Dazhuang had overtime in the afternoon, Shi Yang’s mother offered, "Let Meimei stay and play. She can keep Yangyang company. I’ll take her home when I go back tonight."

Liu Xiue nodded in agreement, and instructed Zhao Meimei, "Listen to your aunt and uncle, alright?"

Director Shi escorted them till the elevator, then headed back.

Inside the ward, Zhao Meimei looked at Shi Yang’s face closely, sadly asked, "Hurting?"

Shi Yang nodded, "Mm, a bit."

Upon hearing, Zhao Meimei quickly leaned in, solemnly said to Shi Yang, "Don’t worry, I’ll blow your wounds away, it won’t hurt!"

Zhao Meimei pursed her lips, gently blew air on Shi Yang’s injured face, her warm breath enveloped his face, warming his heart.
