After Becoming the Villain Mother-in-Law, I Launch My Redemption Arc
Chapter 157: Are You Going to Look for Zhenzhen?
CHAPTER 157: CHAPTER 157: ARE YOU GOING TO LOOK FOR ZHENZHEN?
Meng Yao was dumbfounded.
So, did she slip away right under her nose?
"Why did she leave so suddenly? Was it because Chang’an angered Zhenzhen?" Meng Zhu glared at Li Chang’an, questioning.
Zhao Dahe thought to himself, Aunt, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
"Perhaps," Li Chang’an replied with a calm expression.
"You troublesome kid, you’re driving me crazy." Meng Zhu almost wanted to hit him.
Zhao Xiaohua sneakily glanced at Li Chang’an, then took another look.
Zhenzhen said she wanted to calm down at first, then suddenly decided to leave. What on earth happened in between? She’s really curious.
"Zhenzhen wanted to leave home before she even came here, so it’s not all Dahe’s fault." Meng Yao tried to comfort Meng Zhu, "Maybe she thinks she’s learned military boxing and has gone to roam the world again. Sister, don’t worry too much, Zhenzhen has been roaming outside with her master since she was eight."
"Really? A young girl going out alone..." Meng Zhu was still somewhat uneasy.
"I think she probably went to find her master," Meng Yao said.
"You’re just useless," Meng Zhu complained irritably to Li Chang’an.
Li Chang’an tightly grasped the sword tassel in his palm and then released it.
So what if she’s gone, he’s always been very patient.
"I need to go to town and tell Sister Qian," Meng Yao said.
"Aunty, I’ll go with you," Li Chang’an said.
Halfway, Li Chang’an suddenly spoke, "Aunty, I also want to go out for a while."
Meng Yao didn’t quite understand what he meant by going out.
"After I get you to town, I won’t be going back with you," Li Chang’an added.
Meng Yao had a vague idea but wasn’t quite sure, "Are you planning to find Zhenzhen?"
"Yes." Li Chang’an admitted openly, "I don’t know when she’ll come back after leaving, I don’t want to miss it."
So, her nephew is interested?
It’s quite sudden.
"What about your treatment?" Meng Yao asked.
"Didn’t you say I’m almost done, just need to consolidate?" Li Chang’an said, "I’ll do the consolidation myself. When I recall those past events now, I can handle them calmly. As long as I continue to build myself up, I’ll be fine."
If it were someone else talking about self-consolidation, Meng Yao might have doubts about its feasibility.
But with Li Chang’an, she had no doubts at all.
The process of guiding Li Chang’an was more like teaching him psychological knowledge.
He accepted it very well.
He even applied what he learned in different ways.
Call it being a doctor through long-term illness or having a talent.
Overall, with his cooperation, the entire guidance process was smooth, and the results were indeed good.
"What about your mother?" Meng Yao asked.
"Just tell her I’m going after Zhenzhen, and if I don’t catch her, I won’t come back. She’ll be happy and won’t think anything else." Li Chang’an said.
Also, Meng Zhu is hoping for Qian Zhenzhen to become her daughter-in-law.
"Then don’t leave right away. Let me ask Auntie Qian if there’s any news of Zhenzhen’s master. Otherwise, going blindly, where would you find her?" Meng Yao said.
"Then I’ll trouble you, Aunty," Li Chang’an replied politely.
"I hope you can bring her back quickly," Meng Yao teased.
Upon hearing that Qian Zhenzhen had run off again, Qian stomped her feet in anger.
"A-Yao, don’t you think raising such a daughter is troublesome? She just knows how to run away every day. Every time she leaves, it’s not after properly saying goodbye to me and her father."
"She’s eighteen now! Couldn’t she be more considerate of my feelings as her mother?"
"I must have sinned in my past life, so she was born to punish me in this one."
"Don’t be angry, maybe this time she’ll come back soon," Meng Yao comforted Qian.
"Every time she leaves, it’s counted in years!" Qian said angrily, "By the time she returns next, she might be twenty years old."
"Can you contact Zhenzhen’s master? I could write a letter to bring her back?" Meng Yao asked.
"Last time she came back, she mentioned her master was going to visit his hometown. Where is it from?" Qian frowned, trying to recall, "Seems to be east of Qingzhou Prefecture City, but exactly where, I’m not sure."
Having a general location and direction makes the search a bit easier.
"In that case, there’s no way to write a letter," Meng Yao said.
"Wasting time on this only makes me angry. I thought she would stay with you longer, maybe grow some feelings with Li Chang’an, but I guess I was thinking too much," Qian sighed.
Meng Yao thought: Sister, you weren’t thinking too much, I don’t know if Zhenzhen developed feelings or not, but my nephew certainly did, and now he’s going after her.
"Children have their own luck, if there’s fate, somehow they’ll come together," Meng Yao said.
Qian pursed her lips, "If I’m pushed too far, I’ll adopt someone to keep by my side, so there will be someone to inherit this large business I’ve built."
Meng Yao could only smile, not knowing how to respond.
"Let’s not talk about that troublesome kid, A-Yao, shall I take you to see our bookstore?" Qian suggested.
"Let me first tell Chang’an he can go back without waiting for me," Meng Yao said.
"Chang’an came too? Why didn’t he come in together?"
"Professor Wang is currently teaching, so he didn’t come in," Meng Yao answered.
"This kid is really considerate," Qian sighed, "If he were my son-in-law, I’d wake up laughing from dreams."
Meng Yao politely smiled. Then, she went out to tell Li Chang’an the general location of Qian Zhenzhen’s master.
"Aunty, I’ll be leaving then," Li Chang’an said.
"Do you have enough silver with you?" Meng Yao asked.
Li Chang’an nodded, "Enough."
"Then, good luck to you."
"Thank you for your kind words, Aunty."
Qian took Meng Yao to the bookstore.
Quiet amidst the noise, not too big, but in an excellent location.
"I’ve paid the deposit, we’re meeting to sign the contract tomorrow. Once it’s signed, we’ll start the setup. Zhenzhen’s travel journals have already been sent for printing," Qian said enthusiastically, "Setup will take three to five days, which means the bookstore can open at the latest in five days."
"Sister, you’re really efficient," Meng Yao sincerely praised.
"Sister, you should go back and ask Dahe to think of a name for our bookstore," Qian said happily.
"Our brother-in-law is very knowledgeable, why not ask him?"
"Dahe was the top scorer in the county exam, he’s famous," Qian said.
Alright, business-minded indeed, never missing a gimmick.
"Mrs. Qian, you’re here! I went to your house and couldn’t find anyone, I thought you might be here, so I came to try my luck, and I found you." A lean man greeted Qian cordially.
"Steward Cai, are you urgently looking for me because the seller wants to sign the contract?" Qian asked.
Steward Cai looked embarrassed, "Ha, if only that were the case!"
"Hmm? What do you mean, Steward Cai?" Qian raised an eyebrow.
"The people selling the shop suddenly decided not to sell," Steward Cai said with a bitter face.
