CHAPTER 371: CHAPTER 13 LEONARD ALTORIA

At last, Vera’s choice was beyond doubt... Yila’s idea was simple: if everything on the Main Plane couldn’t withstand the calamity, then a big door would be opened, and they would choose to escape to a world outside the Nine Realms.

The more people that could escape, the better.

Although it sounded a bit like escapism, upon careful consideration... the so-called "door" was different from a spaceship. As long as it was arranged properly and made large enough, many people could go through at once.

Calamity wasn’t necessarily aimed at exterminating intelligent beings; it simply harbored malice towards the world itself... Yila had once briefly been considered a leader by the extreme cold calamity.

From another perspective, besides the Nine Realms, there were many planes that were suitable for survival... Although it might not be easy to find immediately, at least the Blood Realm was very suitable for Blood Clan survival.

So, there must be planes suitable for other races to survive.

As long as there’s life, there’s hope. To recreate a world that is the same or even better would not be a difficult task... to lose land while preserving the people means losing both; to lose people while preserving the land means gaining both. This is the principle.

However, if the World Tree came to an end, the Mana Network (Magic Net) woven between heaven and earth might no longer function, and "mana" could become unusable.

Therefore, escape was ultimately the last resort.

The issue of "use it or not" versus "have it or not" was a significant one.

"Calamity, what a terrible thing."

Yila muttered to himself, as the untarnished feather pen spun in his hand... though he said this, his face carried a smile, seemingly not too resentful of the existence of calamity.

Such an expression would surely seem strange to others, but from an omniscient perspective, his mood was perfectly understandable... in his original plan, he needed to achieve "unity."

But now, such "alliance" and the establishment of this "Kings’ Conference" provided him the legitimate reasons to intervene and transform civilization.

And he bore no malice; indeed, everything was developing in a good direction.

Once all the calamities were resolved, he would be just a step away from achieving his ultimate dream... although the premise might be an insurmountable chasm.

The next step was hard to plan for, especially without targeted efforts... for instance, was the calamity of the sea one of the "Evil God’s Followers" mentioned by the outer entities?

If so, preparations to defend against sea monsters must be made, and marine trade should temporarily halt to minimize losses... but if it were a flood that submerged the earth?

In that case, more ships would be needed to wait out the calamity or escape to some half-plane, or seek refuge in the dwarven mountains.

The lack of information was still too severe. After finding a body in the Spirit Realm capable of bearing souls, they needed to search for the existence of the Soul Dragon, then ask about the location of the Dragon Realm, and go to Dragon Island with Satan Ye.

It was tedious, like a chain of RPG quests.

"Yila, Wenresa and the others are back."

Ernie’s voice interrupted Yila’s thoughts, and he raised his head... seeing Ernie reminding him, and Wenresa Iluvita and a human woman approaching.

"I see them."

Yila said, then inquired Wenresa and the other woman under Ernie’s amazed gaze, "How did it go? How much did you learn about the calamities?"

Ideally, someone would know about all "ten kinds of calamities."

"Cough, cough, overall... no progress. Aside from the two in the Main Plane, the only confirmed ones are ’Above the Heaven,’ ’Below the Hell,’ ’Evil God’s Followers,’ and ’The Obsessive.’

The human woman responded, and after some additions from Wenresa, Yila nodded helplessly, "I knew all this... someone claiming to be a Starlight Body came to me earlier and told me the same things."

"..."

"..."

"What?"

Wenresa made a puzzled sound... she had just left and the Starlight Body snuck in? She sensed that indeed, in the distant south, there was a Starlight Body’s presence.

What was it doing in the Main Plane?!

"He said... he wanted to understand the divinity of gods and hoped I’d introduce him to Pope Mille."

Yila summarized his conversation with the Starlight Body simply, then added, "People trapped in depression may have the potential to destroy the world, and he thanked me for that."

In other words... similar to Ernie?

Wenresa and the human woman exchanged glances, then looked at Ernie standing aside... Ernie, still not fully aware of being a "calamity," appeared completely confused.

"Well, I need to head to the Spirit Realm, find a dragon there, ask about Dragon Island’s location, and try to gather intelligence from there. Do either of you have any leads?"

Yila asked, seemingly treating the two women as tools.

"The Spirit Realm is a place for animated souls to live... the presence of a soul is a product of reincarnation, and the spontaneously reappearing or appearing life forms may also carry souls, which is one of life’s miracles. Some of these souls would go to the Spirit Realm."

The human woman spoke as if reciting from a textbook. She crossed her arms over her chest, of a size "truly worthy of Vera’s ancestor," and said, "Aren’t there ghosts in the Demon King Territory? The Spirit Realm’s locations are hidden within them."

"..."

"What do you mean by hidden within the ghosts?"

Yila asked... he didn’t quite understand. Did it mean he had to stick his head inside Youyou’s body?

(Youyou: Shocked!)

"I don’t know either; that’s just how it’s recorded in the books."

The human woman said. She looked at Wenresa for help, but Wenresa offered no response... it seemed she didn’t know either.

Even Wenresa Iluvita, with her "Raven Rainbow Eye," seemed to be able to travel freely across the Nine Worlds, yet couldn’t set foot in the Divine Realm or the Spirit Realm freely.

"..."

"I know something about the Spirit Realm, come help me, and I’ll tell you... bring the ghost you’re familiar with."

"..."

Yila looked up at the empty sky, puzzled, then turned to Wenresa and the human woman, asking, "Did you hear that? Whose voice was that?"

"..."

After a brief silence, Wenresa was the first to explain, clearly reluctant to "help," saying, "That’s an outer entity... one of the leaders of the "Evil God’s Followers" hunting squad."

"His name is..."
