After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 103: Raising Chickens
CHAPTER 103: CHAPTER 103: RAISING CHICKENS
Isabella Weaver took a long time to calm her turbulent heart this time.
She possessed an indomitable will, a clear and rational mind. Being expelled, having all paths blocked by her father, being forced into marriage, marrying only as a temporary measure—it couldn’t become an obsession.
She wore a black sweater, deep blue jeans, and sneakers. She carried a cold brown coat as she headed out.
It is said that a spring rain brings warmth, and indeed, it’s true. It rained yesterday, and today it’s not only not cold, but the sun is shining brightly, much warmer. Wearing a thin coat is perfectly fine.
Yesterday, she had an appointment with a magazine publisher. They admired her paintings and offered a generous commission. Today, she would go for a preliminary discussion.
If successful, she could earn around twenty thousand in remuneration and possibly establish long-term cooperation.
Isabella Weaver drove along the coastal avenue. The radiant sunshine illuminated her fair and youthful face, revealing the unique vitality of a young girl.
"Ding!"
Her phone reminded her of a new email.
Isabella Weaver glanced at it briefly; it was from the organizers of the jewelry design competition, congratulating her on passing the preliminary round and progressing to the second round.
Isabella Weaver smiled; her talents were gaining increasing recognition.
Everything was improving; life was full of hope, and she was pumped up with enthusiasm!
...
Parker Family.
Ella Weaver had a restless night and got up late today, only when the sun was high, putting on a new dress prepared by her aunt as she headed downstairs for breakfast.
Without seeing Alexander Parker, she quietly asked Reese Renfrew, "Aunt, where is cousin? Is he not home?"
"He’s home, has a new obsession, playing outside!"
For Reese Renfrew, as long as her son doesn’t cause any fatalities, he can play however he likes.
"A new obsession?"
Ella Weaver was curious to the extreme. Even after breakfast, she couldn’t help but go outside to see.
Then she saw the elegant and beautiful fountain garden at the Parker Estate crowded with chirping chicks running everywhere, unmistakably turned into a chicken farm!
Alexander Parker, clutching a chick, approached her, "Big cousin, did you call the police?"
"Huh?"
Ella Weaver was momentarily stunned before recalling his words from yesterday about calling the police.
"Oh, I called them! Cousin, what are you doing? How did you bring so many chicks?"
Alexander Parker’s gaze was cold and his tone determined, "You didn’t call the police, which means you don’t care much about your parents’ lives!"
Ella Weaver shuddered under his gaze. Damn it, how could she forget this psycho could easily tell if someone was lying, like a human polygraph!
"Of course I care; I’m just about to go to the police station!"
Ella Weaver looked at the chick in his hand and inexplicably remembered the kitten he squeezed to death last night.
Her hairs stood on end!
Could Alexander Parker intend to squeeze this entire flock of chicks to death one by one?
"Cou... cousin, why did you start raising chickens?"
Alexander Parker petted the chick’s head and a gentle look appeared in his eyes, "Little cousin gave me the suggestion; she’s so smart. Chicks are cute and delicious. When I kill other creatures, people say I’m terrifying, but killing chickens to eat is fine, isn’t it?"
Ella Weaver shivered violently, could it be that Isabella Weaver has gone mad too? What kind of horrible idea did she give him; these chicks are doomed!
Alexander Parker could easily see through her thoughts, "Big cousin doesn’t eat chicken?"
"I..."
"Don’t eat duck?"
"Then..."
"Don’t eat pig, cattle, sheep, fish, shrimp, and crab?"
"That’s different!"
