After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 233: Are We Divorced?
CHAPTER 233: CHAPTER 233: ARE WE DIVORCED?
Isabella Weaver was initially a bit moved, but hearing the last sentence, she burst into laughter out of frustration.
After surviving the catastrophe, Isabella developed a deeper understanding of life and living.
In a rare move, she took the initiative to hug Alexander Parker, and with a smile, she asked him, "Cousin, your eyes seem to have recovered. Are you disgusted by my ugliness?"
Alexander was completely stunned.
His cousin hugged him?
His cousin had never been willing to get close to him before!
It took him a while to come to his senses, and he gently touched Isabella’s swollen face, speaking with immense tenderness, "You’re a little ugly, but even ugly, I like you. Would you say I’m crazy?"
Isabella understood his meaning. He had never liked ugly things; he only liked beautiful ones, then went on to destroy them.
She chuckled lightly, "When have you ever been normal?"
"Mm, true! Your cousin here tends to not follow the usual path! Hey, Harry! Hand over this woman, ugly as can be, to me! And you go marry that pretty woman with the surname Liu!"
Connor dared not look at Harry Hunter’s sour expression anymore.
Young Madam was really something, daring to embrace another man right in front of her husband!
The most remarkable part was that although Young Master’s expression was ugly, he didn’t lose his temper!
Could it be that he’s high on fever, his brain fried?
"Do you think the Liu girl is pretty?"
"Not pretty!"
"You let me marry her even though she’s not pretty? Why don’t you marry her yourself!"
"I thought you found her pretty? If you didn’t find her pretty, why would you get engaged to her?"
"That’s a family alliance! Whether she’s pretty or not doesn’t matter!"
"Since it doesn’t matter at all, then marry her!"
"I already have a wife, and it’s the one you’re hugging right now!"
"Oh, she’s not your wife now. As far as I know, you two are divorced. Everyone knows you’re set to marry the Liu girl. Your wedding news even overshadowed the news of the explosion at the Royalton Club, wasn’t that intentional?"
Isabella Weaver was initially smiling while listening to their rapid exchanges, but suddenly she couldn’t smile anymore: "Harry, are we divorced?"
"Of course not!"
Disregarding the pain in his arm, Harry Hunter pulled Alexander Parker away, not allowing him to hug Isabella: "Stop trying to stir trouble between me and Isabella! You two are impossible, now get lost!"
Of course Alexander wouldn’t leave. He changed his tone, speaking earnestly: "Your fiancée is incredibly capable, and her family is particularly wealthy. You could marry her and then finish her off; all the money in her family would be yours, making you the richest person in this country!"
"I will be the richest person without having to marry her!"
"My cousin has suffered so much with you, barely clinging onto life. Your family is truly too dangerous; being with me would be better for her."
"Being with a lunatic like you is even more dangerous!"
Alexander stopped talking, looking at Isabella in distress: "Both are risky. Which risk does my cousin think is slightly less?"
Isabella couldn’t help but sigh, impressed that he could actually recognize his own danger and knew to let her choose for herself.
"Cousin, I’m quite fine right now. Even without Mr. Hunter, I wouldn’t marry you, and you’ve always known that, haven’t you?"
Alexander’s expression of ease gradually faded away as he tore off his façade, revealing his originally sinister and cold demeanor: "I’ve always known, but as long as you weren’t married, I could endure anything. The only thing I can’t endure is you getting married!"
Isabella, accustomed to his true colors, wasn’t afraid. She gently asked him, "Cousin, don’t you wish for my happiness?"
