CHAPTER 241: CHAPTER 241 GOOD FRIENDS

"Miss Weaver, please acknowledge your own age; you are also a teenage girl, okay?"

"I am nineteen!"

"Yeah, not yet twenty, right? Still a teenager!"

Cora Ginger, satisfied, looked at Isabella Weaver dressed entirely in pink, and zipped up her sports jacket: "Look, as soon as you put on this outfit, you look ten years younger! You dress so maturely all the time, people who don’t know might think you’re in your seventies or eighties!"

Isabella’s skin was white and glowing, which Cora always envied and felt jealous about; she couldn’t wear such pink, it would make her look darker, but she loved pink so much that she ended up buying the outfit and never wearing it.

She didn’t sleep, washed up, and changed clothes, dragging Isabella out to go to the mall.

Cora was constantly chattering, not only buying things for Isabella but also purchasing various daily necessities for herself, tirelessly comparing prices. Isabella’s attention was completely diverted by her, and she temporarily forgot all about Harry Hunter and Alexander Parker.

The two of them wandered around the mall for more than four hours, returning with their hands full.

Isabella’s hand was injured, but Cora, carrying big bags alone, didn’t feel exhausted, and chirped like a little bird: "Oh, I forgot to tell you, Royalton Club not only gave me an extra month’s salary but also a one-time compensation of fifty thousand! I’m a rich person now! Fatty Duff is really nice!"

Isabella smiled and couldn’t help but remind her, "Save some of this money for yourself, don’t give it all to your family. Being filial to parents and helping your brothers is right, but you can’t be too harsh on yourself."

"Okay, okay, I know!"

Even though she agreed, Cora didn’t really take it seriously.

Even though she’s older than Isabella, in many ways she’s not as steady and mature, nor does she think as far ahead as Isabella does.

However, she’s much more skilled at cooking than Isabella. After returning to her place, she went to the communal kitchen and quickly whipped up three dishes and a soup to eat with Isabella.

After all, Isabella is the daughter of the Weaver Family; no matter how unloved she is, Christopher Weaver would never allow her to cook.

Cora’s parents, on the other hand, pushed her to learn to cook and do laundry early on, making housework a habit for her.

Sunset, sunrise, setting again, and rising again, as time pushes closer to Saturday, for the entire city’s attention.

Isabella had been staying at Cora’s place for three days; the bandages on her left hand had been removed long ago, but her right hand still went to a small clinic daily for dressing changes, remaining both painful and numb, recovering extremely slowly.

She thought that maybe her right hand was ruined.

These days, she stayed mostly inside, desperately practicing with her left hand.

Cora saw her working so hard and couldn’t help but feel worried: "You should rest more, your hand isn’t healed yet! I see you write and draw pretty well with your left hand, even better than I do with my right; why aren’t you satisfied?"

Isabella smiled and shook her head.

That’s because she hadn’t seen what her drawings looked like with her right hand.

Seeing her unwilling to listen, Cora had no choice but to stop advising her.

"I encountered Young Master Hunter again today, he asked if I had seen you, and as you said, I told him no."

"Hmm, good job."

"Are you really not going to see him?"

"No."

"But I think he looks quite weary and really cares about you."

"He’s getting married."

Cora didn’t care: "What’s the problem with that? Everyone in the city knows that he and Cherry Lewis are basically in a commercial marriage; even if he’s getting married, it doesn’t hinder you from being with him! Such an outstanding man being handed over to Cherry Lewis is really a shame!"
