After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 242: Who Is More Bloody
CHAPTER 242: CHAPTER 242: WHO IS MORE BLOODY
Isabella Weaver laughed in exasperation: "What nonsense are you talking about? Do you really think I would become someone’s mistress?"
Cora Ginger had her own twisted logic: "Anyway, if it’s not you, it will be someone else. Just look at the men at our club; all the rich ones like to keep a young, pretty girl! You’re much prettier than Cherry Lewis and younger too, you’re sure to win!"
Isabella Weaver tapped her on the head with a pen: "We can’t do things that destroy other people’s families, that’s wrong!"
"You’re not destroying a family; you were clearly with Young Master Hunter first! That Cherry Lewis butted in, she’s the other woman! No, wait, it’s also Hunter’s fault! How can he marry you one moment, then want to marry someone else the next? Shameless!"
Cora Ginger ranted for a while, then left with her bag.
The Royalton Club was under reconstruction, so she couldn’t return to work temporarily and found another job to do for the time being.
She took the subway for over half an hour and just as she arrived at the company’s entrance, she ran into Harry Hunter again.
She snorted coldly and turned to leave.
Harry Hunter frowned slightly.
When Cora Ginger saw him yesterday, she was fine, so why the sudden cold shoulder today?
He asked calmly, "Miss Ginger, is Isabella with you?"
Cora Ginger replied stiffly without looking back: "No!"
"Isabella’s right hand is badly injured. If she doesn’t get treatment from a good doctor, she won’t be able to use it in the future. Do you want to see her lose her hand’s function?"
Cora Ginger stopped in her tracks immediately.
After spending time together these past few days, she had already learned how much Isabella cared about her hand.
She hesitated before asking, "Can Isabella’s hand still be saved?"
"Yes."
"Oh, then I’ll give you an address, go find her!"
Harry Hunter was very surprised, not expecting to get the address so easily.
He gave Cora Ginger a deep look, gaining a new perspective on this girl who always seemed to crave the attention of wealthy men.
The address was very secluded, and when Harry Hunter found the place, he almost thought he had gone the wrong way.
In the dark and damp basement, he saw Isabella Weaver.
It had only been a few days and she had lost a noticeable amount of weight!
Her gaze felt unfamiliar and distant.
"Mr. Hunter, is there something you need?"
"Come home with me." He couldn’t bear to let her stay in such a place!
"Aren’t you about to get married? Bringing me back wouldn’t be appropriate, would it?"
"You’ve misunderstood, Isabella." Harry Hunter stepped forward, wanting to embrace her, but she evaded him.
"I did not misunderstand; all the news is about your impending wedding."
Harry Hunter moved forward, step by step, cornering Isabella Weaver against the wall. When she had nowhere left to retreat, he pulled her into his arms: "I’ve told you, it’s fake. I won’t marry anyone else, and since we haven’t divorced, I can’t marry anyone else."
"Are you trying to trick me again? I’ve already seen the text messages on your phone, Harry Hunter!"
Harry Hunter was stunned, lifting her chin to ask: "Is it because you saw the messages on my phone that you left?"
"Don’t tell me you’re going to deny the messages as well?"
"I won’t deny the messages, but they’re part of my plan. I didn’t tell you because I feared you’d misunderstand. I didn’t expect it to backfire."
Harry Hunter gently stroked her hair, heart aching: "I shouldn’t have kept it from you; I selfishly wanted to hide my darkness. I aim to take down the Lewis Family, and it will be very bloody and dark. I feared if you knew, you’d leave me."
Isabella Weaver didn’t believe it: "Could you be more ruthless than my cousin?"
Harry Hunter sighed: "Hmm."
