"Didn’t you set up several traps? With the measures in place, catching him should be normal, right?"

"No."

Isabella Weaver shook her head, "He was caught in the first trap, which is why I felt something was wrong. Isn’t he supposed to be a skilled assassin? It’s impossible for him to be so careless. Although I wanted to exploit his underestimation of me, he overlooked too much. Coming alone without any weapons, it doesn’t add up."

She thought Austin Winters would at least carry a gun.

But Connor said he didn’t carry anything.

Harry Hunter frowned slightly, "The DNA has been checked, there’s no doubt, it is Austin Winters."

Could Austin Winters be preparing another conspiracy?

Harry Hunter recalled earlier when he had beaten Austin Winters nearly to death. Austin didn’t fight back, appearing weak and only good at verbal exchanges. Harry had re-evaluated Austin’s scheming and endurance.

"Let’s not talk about him now, just enjoy the meal. I’ll handle Austin Winters’s matters."

Isabella nodded; she really had no energy to deal with Austin Winters’s matters with Shiely Morrison still missing, making her anxious.

"I’ve found you a new bodyguard who will be responsible for your safety from now on. Additionally, I’ve assigned Cora Ginger to be your assistant. She’s trustworthy enough." Harry had actually investigated Cora Ginger before deciding to have her stay by Isabella’s side.

Isabella indeed needed manpower currently; she couldn’t keep borrowing Connor every day.

She was getting along increasingly well with Cora Ginger, making working together quite suitable.

After lunch, she parted ways with Harry Hunter to attend to their respective tasks.

She asked for Johan Niles’s number from Harry Hunter and gave him a call.

"Doctor Niles, where’s Alexander Parker? There’s no one in his ward."

"Oh, he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit yesterday. His heart stopped several times. His mother has fainted from crying multiple times. Now both mother and son are lying in the ICU!"

Isabella was taken aback, "His condition worsened?"

"He was too heavily injured, truly a battle maniac, not a good place on his body. The human body has its limits, right? Even my mentor doesn’t dare to perform a craniotomy on him. In his condition, once he gets on the operating table and his skull is opened, he might just lose all breath!"

Isabella listened to him ramble on about many things and hung up the phone with a heavy heart.

She always hoped Alexander Parker would disappear from her life, but she never wanted him to disappear from this world.

He was so talented, once so vigorous, he should have been one of the rising stars of this world, yet now he’s on the brink of death.

But his very existence was a huge threat, and now with her mother missing, it’s all his doing!

Isabella wished she could drag Alexander Parker over for a beating!

Only now did she understand why Johan Niles had scolded him in front of Alexander Parker’s bed before; it was infuriating seeing him in such a persistent lack of consciousness!

Outside the hospital doors, just as Isabella was about to drive away, she ran into Cora Ginger who was hurrying over.

She smiled, "Cora, get in the car, I planned to pick you up!"

Cora Ginger carried a large bag and gave her a formal bow, "Hello, boss! You’ve worked hard! I should have picked you up, not the other way around!"

Isabella was amused, "Hmm, sure, come on, you drive for me!"

Cora Ginger immediately looked distressed, "I’m sorry, boss, I can’t drive. I don’t have a license. I’ll learn soon, please don’t fire me!"
