After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 586: Longing Grows Day by Day
CHAPTER 586: CHAPTER 586: LONGING GROWS DAY BY DAY
Isabella Weaver thought of the couple’s necklace Connor had been wearing these past few days and guessed that the other one might be around Natalie Niles’ neck.
She considered Natalie Niles’ preferences carefully and suggested earnestly, "If you like something more refined, you could try wearing a pair of silver-rimmed glasses for fun. If you prefer something rugged, you could make your hair a bit more tousled, not so tidy. Add a silver cross to the necklace collection."
Connor didn’t know much about fashion, and Harry Hunter wasn’t skilled in it either, so the two of them dressed very similarly, like peas in a pod.
But Harry has black hair and very fair skin. He looks perfect in a white shirt and black shoes, while Connor has wheat-colored skin and short, dark brown hair, with a pair of unique deep blue eyes. He suits a deep blue shirt more, Isabella felt. It would make his blue eyes stand out even more!
Connor was overjoyed, "Thank you, Young Madam! I’ll go buy them right away! Having a designer at home really makes a difference. I’m so lucky!"
Harry’s expression was icy, and he spoke in a sour tone, "Designer Weaver, why do you design a personal image for him but not for me?"
Isabella laughed, finding it amusing that he was even jealous of Connor.
She hugged his waist tightly, turned her head to kiss his cheek, and whispered softly in his ear, "You don’t need any designing. You’re already so handsome. You’d look good even wearing a sack. What if I make you too handsome, and someone steals you away?"
Harry was instantly over the moon!
His little wife truly loved him the most!
Isabella smiled. Her man was really easy to cheer up.
The three of them returned to the villa together. After Connor dropped them off, he drove straight to the mall, bought several blue shirts in varying shades, picked up some brown shoes, and once home, he changed and stood in front of the mirror, stunned!
Isabella Weaver’s eye was indeed sharp!
Wearing deep sea blue, he exuded a regal aura!
He rummaged through his drawers and found a pair of glasses he hadn’t worn in ages. Putting them on and looking in the mirror, he saw a different aura altogether!
He tried several combinations in a row, each bringing him a different vibe and feeling.
But the smile on his lips gradually faded.
What’s the use of dressing up so handsomely if the person he wanted to see wasn’t there?
Connor went to the living room, picked up the little black rabbit, fed it some food, took a selfie on his phone, and sent it to Natalie Niles.
He had never received a reply from her, nor knew if she could see them, but he kept sending them anyway.
He sat against the wall on the floor, one long leg stretched out, the other slightly bent, his fingers stroking the rabbit’s smooth fur, murmuring, "Little Black, when do you think Mommy will come back? Has she left Daddy for good..."
These past few days he had been continuously torn between anger and guilt, joy and sorrow, his emotions like a roller coaster.
Only his longing kept growing day by day, that elegant and serene face becoming clearer in his mind.
That damned woman, it must have been intentional, leaving him pining after her, never to forget!
Footsteps were heard outside, and Connor was suddenly filled with joy!
But a moment later, his joy faded away.
These weren’t Natalie Niles’ footsteps. When she walks, it’s steady and light, quick but not rushed.
The approaching person carried a scent of luxurious perfume, wearing a mauve long dress, with the latest strappy high-heeled sandals, appearing before him.
"Connor."
"Get out."
"I came to bring you something to eat."
"Not needed."
