After Breaking Up, I Married the Dying Tycoon in a Flash
Chapter 234: Immortal Lovers
CHAPTER 234: CHAPTER 234: IMMORTAL LOVERS
Shen Zhaoli rolled up the car window, straight-faced, and said, "So even if you really find anything, don’t tell me. If you want to find him, just go!"
Bian Yue smiled, "Really? I thought the moment I got on the plane, you would directly complain to your brother."
"What do I have to complain about? If you reconcile with Shen Jinci eventually, I, the messenger, would just end up feeling unjustly treated from both sides." Shen Zhaoli said earnestly, "Bian Yue, if you really want to find him, just go! I’ll act as if I know nothing."
A hint of smile on Bian Yue’s face faded, she looked at Shen Zhaoli’s serious expression, restraining her previously joking demeanor, she earnestly said, "I understand what you mean, thank you."
The car stopped in front of the wedding hall.
It was the Li Family’s private vineyard which wasn’t open to the public on ordinary days, and probably only Bian Yue among those present had been here before.
Today, the wedding of Li Sihe and Zhuang Jie Ning would be held here.
In front of the main entrance of the vineyard, wedding photos of the couple were displayed, both seemingly smiling, yet every gesture emitted a sense of unfamiliarity.
"Why do these photos look like this?" Shen Zhaoli clicked his tongue and spoke bluntly, "The two of them look unfamiliar with each other, don’t they?"
Bian Yue just chuckled and didn’t respond, only patted Shen Zhaoli on the shoulder, "Aren’t you here to attend the wedding? Speaking gossip right at someone’s door, aren’t you afraid of being overheard?"
"Who dares to listen to my idle talk?" Shen Zhaoli’s beautiful brow and eyes tainted with a touch of pride, "Bian Yue, today I am here representing Lixing Group."
Bian Yue tried to suppress her laughter, and as they walked side by side into the venue, she said, "How did Shen Jinci ever see you as a rough diamond? He really trusted you with so much."
"If we talk about that, I’m also curious. Back then, I was just a mess, and our first meeting wasn’t pleasant at all, didn’t you see it? That day, Shen Jinci even broke one of my ribs, I thought we were going to become archenemies." Shen Zhaoli spoke lightly, clearly unbothered by the past.
Reflecting on those memories now, they seem merely amusing and nostalgic.
As they talked, they had entered the courtyard.
A melodious violin tune played in the ear, the classic elegant Chinese courtyard, even the man-made lake in the center was meticulously curated.
In Bian Yue’s memory, this vineyard wasn’t this luxurious.
Li Sihe and she often came here to escape the summer heat, sometimes to avoid the Li Family’s trivial matters, but in Bian Yue’s memory, this place was more secluded, like a tranquil sanctuary detached from the world.
Yet, things and people change, the world is always like this.
Bian Yue’s eyes were filled with emotions as she walked with Shen Zhaoli into the main hall, where a European-style crystal chandelier hung overhead, completely different from the classical Chinese elegance outside, resonating more with a retro European style.
Many people had arrived, and everyone smiled and stepped forward to greet Bian Yue and Shen Zhaoli.
Wen Jiao was also there; she immediately noticed the new dress on Bian Yue, her eyes lighting up, "Isn’t that the exclusive haute couture I was looking for before?"
Bian Yue paused, she wasn’t particularly interested in this topic, "Really? Shen Jinci gave me many dresses, and I just picked one casually."
"This dress... is quite expensive, and really, it’s not something money can always buy." Miss Wen, who spends lavishly, calling something expensive must mean it’s very valuable.
Bian Yue nodded thoughtfully, meanwhile, Shen Zhaoli was gazing at Wen Jiao, who wore a red long dress highlighting her slender and graceful figure.
A flash of amazement swept through Shen Zhaoli’s eyes. He discreetly withdrew his gaze without saying a word.
Wen Jiao, however, took the initiative to look at him and smiled, saying: "Junior President Shen now, seems more and more intimidating."
Shen Zhaoli raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
Bian Yue, knowing that nothing good would come from Wen Jiao’s mouth, quickly said: "She’s praising you for being able to hold the fort!"
Wen Jiao then smiled and said: "Yes, praising you."
How could Shen Zhaoli not know that Wen Jiao was actually mocking him for putting on an act of maturity? His gaze darkened slightly, but he did not argue, just smiled nonchalantly, "If Miss Wen says so, then it must be true; after all, Miss Wen has a good eye."
The three of them were talking, and the surrounding crowd also began to chime in.
"Long time no see, Bian Yue. The last time I saw you was at the reunion," Pan Ni giggled, her eyes flashing mischievously as she smiled, "I was just making a bet with Wen Ting!"
Bian Yue also smiled, following Pan Ni’s words and asked: "Bet on what?"
Wen Ting, who was beside them, smiled and continued, "We bet on whether you would come! Pan Ni said you are generous and have now buried the hatchet with that person from the Li Family, you would definitely come! I didn’t believe it at first, but here you are."
Though these words sounded somewhat offensive at first, the fact that this speculation was discussed openly made it seem quite forthright.
Bian Yue smiled and didn’t mind, instead jokingly said: "Now that Pan Ni has won the bet, shouldn’t some of the benefits be shared with me!"
"Oh my, my benefits, why would you want them! If you like, you can have everything I won from the bet!" Pan Ni laughed.
It was a friendly and jovial moment, the crowd was noisy, and someone exclaimed in surprise: "Look! The bride and groom are coming in."
Bian Yue looked in the direction of the sound, and at the entrance, under the gaze of Li Tingmo and Tang Yuwei, Zhuang Jie Ning, in a white wedding dress resembling an elegant lady, was walking arm in arm with Li Sihe, entering the venue.
Li Sihe was dressed in a white suit today, and despite his visibly poor complexion, he still maintained a graceful demeanor and a charming temperament.
The crowd gradually quieted down, all involuntarily watching the scene unfold.
Who could not praise them as a well-matched couple? At least by appearance, they indeed looked perfect together.
A boastful smile remained on Zhuang Jie Ning’s face until she saw Bian Yue in the crowd, then her expression turned cold, the original smile seemingly freezing on her face, leaving only disgust.
Li Sihe too saw Bian Yue, and actually, from the moment he walked into the hall, he had noticed Bian Yue.
But he contained his gaze and stepped forward composedly.
The two, appearing as a loving couple, walked past the crowd.
Zhuang Jie Ning tightened her grip on Li Sihe’s arm, her voice suppressed, with a gritting fury: "Seeing Bian Yue makes you happy, doesn’t it?"
"Just okay."
Li Sihe’s calm response made Zhuang Jie Ning’s frosty expression even harsher, she sneered, "What are you pretending for?"
"Seeing Bian Yue is nothing compared to seeing you furious—that makes me happier," Li Sihe said lightly.
Zhuang Jie Ning couldn’t help but sneer more intensely, "Well, you won’t be happy for long, after all, you’re about to die, and in the future, I will only be laughing."
