After Breaking Up, I Married the Dying Tycoon in a Flash
Chapter 261: Didn’t Say Who
CHAPTER 261: CHAPTER 261: DIDN’T SAY WHO
"I will wait for President Bian’s notification then," Wang Dan’an slowly stood up, his smile unchanged, "Oh, by the way, the children at the welfare institution all miss President Bian very much. If you have time, you might want to visit them."
Bian Yue had been waiting for Wang Dan’an’s words.
She smiled subtly, her voice calm, "I will go there in the next few days."
Wang Dan’an smiled satisfactorily, exchanged more pleasantries with Bian Yue, and finally turned around to leave.
Bian Yue watched Wang Dan’an’s departing figure with a cold expression gradually appearing in her eyes.
She lowered her eyes to hide her feelings, her gaze cold.
Despite lacking concrete evidence, Bian Yue firmly believed that there were unspeakable secrets behind Wang Dan’an.
In the suburbs, at the welfare institution.
Wang Dan’an sat in the office, watching as the principal eagerly came forward to stoke the fire and light his cigarette.
The principal’s face wore a flattering smile, "President Wang, what kind of wind has blown you here? You’ve been visiting quite a few times recently!"
"Recently, the situation in Xiangjiang has been chaotic, I’m like a clay Buddha crossing the river, barely able to protect myself," Wang Dan’an said, giving the principal a cold look, "Do you understand what I mean?"
"Don’t worry, President Wang, if that person from the Bian family comes, I will make sure everything is arranged perfectly, without any slip-ups!" the principal replied with a smile. "Moreover, isn’t President Huang here too? President Huang has been busy these past days hiding all the visible things!"
Wang Dan’an’s expression softened, his smile becoming more genuine as he looked at the principal, speaking lightly, "Where’s Huang Zhangyue?"
"He’s in the storage room organizing files," the principal hesitated briefly, then suggestion cautiously, "President Wang, if you ask me, wouldn’t it be better just to close this institution down? I bet she, Bian Yue, won’t find anything!"
"Hmph! Fool! If it were that simple to close down, why would I go through so much effort! Bian Yue trusts me, and cooperates with me, because of this welfare institution, otherwise, with Honey’s current status, why would she choose me?" Wang Dan’an narrowed his eyes, a cold light flashing in them.
The principal’s expression became even more obsequious, "You’re right, President Wang! I was being foolish! Don’t worry, we’re all in the same boat, I’ll definitely do my utmost, and will not let your grand plan fail..."
Wang Dan’an’s expression relaxed further, his voice softened, "Tonight, I’m treating you all to a meal. Recently, everyone has worked hard!"
"Thank you, President Wang!"
Bian Yue had been busy until dusk at Honey, where Miss Wen Jiao was sitting by the window, seemingly lost in thought.
Bian Yue packed up her things and walked over to Wen Jiao, patting her on the shoulder with a smile, "What are you thinking about? You’re so absorbed!"
"Bian Yue," Wen Jiao slightly tugged at the corners of her mouth, her voice hoarse and obscure, "I haven’t been sleeping well lately, could you find me a good doctor?"
Bian Yue’s smile was covered by worry as she looked anxiously at Wen Jiao, "What’s wrong? Why do you need to see a doctor suddenly?"
"It’s just some sleep issues, don’t worry, it’s nothing," Wen Jiao assured her with a smile, her voice gentle, "Look at you, all startled. I shouldn’t have told you."
"Wen Jiao, of course you should tell me! What’s wrong with you? You’ve been acting strange lately," Bian Yue frowned, leaning in to look directly into Wen Jiao’s eyes, her words earnest, "If you have any worries, you need to tell me, understand?"
"No worries," Wen Jiao smiled helplessly.
"Is it because of him?"
"It has nothing to do with Wei Shuqian," Wen Jiao stated firmly.
Bian Yue’s expression turned serious; she looked intently at Wen Jiao, speaking softly, "But Jiaojiao, I haven’t even told you who I was talking about."
Wen Jiao had been forcing herself to stay calm, but finally, a crack appeared.
Her face was pale, and with a look of helplessness, she hoarsely said to Bian Yue, "Yueyue... I don’t know what to do... I wasn’t very sad initially, but recently, for some reason, I’m extremely distressed. I always think that I might never see him again, and every time I think that, my heart aches so much..."
Bian Yue understood all the delayed pain Wen Jiao was experiencing. It was the result of countless, unknown days and nights of restless thoughts. Bian Yue earnestly asked, "Do you want to go find him?"
Wen Jiao’s eyes reddened, but she shook her head firmly.
She said, "I don’t want to find him."
She allowed herself to be uncontrollably sad, but she did not allow herself to fall into the same emotions over and over again.
Wen Jiao paused for a moment, then repeated firmly, "I, don’t want to find him."
Bian Yue knew that she had made her decision.
Bian Yue smiled at Wen Jiao, paused, then raised her hand to tidy her hair and said softly and slowly, "I will help you find a doctor, Jiaojiao, you must get some good sleep, everything will pass."
Wen Jiao smiled. She hugged Bian Yue and sighed softly, "Bian Yue, it’s really good to have you by my side. Otherwise, there are so many things, I really wouldn’t know who to talk to."
Bian Yue felt Wen Jiao’s reliant emotions, slightly dazed.
In the past, she often felt this way too.
But now, she had become someone who could comfort others. Moreover, she had acquired the ability to empathize and mastered the art of moderation.
For Bian Yue, this was a curious experience.
Bian Yue gently patted Wen Jiao’s back, and both of them didn’t speak again.
At night, Shen Jinci prepared a simple meal. His cooking skills had improved from before, and he could make home-cooked dishes as well as a professional chef.
Bian Yue knew that he must have carefully studied by himself for a long time.
Under the light, Bian Yue watched Shen Jinci immersed in the gentle lighting, his noble and detached demeanor, thinking that an hour ago, he might have been in the kitchen, busy amidst the smoky air.
So, Bian Yue couldn’t help but smile, looking at him tenderly, her voice soft, "Shen Jinci, could you record a video next time you cook?"
This was indeed a strange request, but Shen Jinci didn’t ask why. He spoke calmly and lightly, "I’ll have Kang Yu help me record, I’m not good at taking pictures."
Bian Yue couldn’t help but cough twice.
"Is Assistant Kang free?" Bian Yue joked, "I think it’s better you do it yourself!"
"I’ll give him overtime pay," Shen Jinci replied as he served Bian Yue a bowl of soup, changing the subject, "After dinner, could you help me get a bottle from the fridge?"
It was rare that Shen Jinci needed help.
"Why wait until after dinner?" Bian Yue smiled, "I’ll get it for you now!"
Saying this, Bian Yue walked towards the fridge.
But the moment she opened the fridge door, Bian Yue still couldn’t help but gasp in surprise.
Inside was a fridge full of flowers, neatly arranged in layers, with dewdrops glistening on the petals, and the fragrance almost seemed to engulf her the instant she opened the fridge.
