After Breaking Up, I Married the General
Chapter 30 - 29: Waking up, Part 2
CHAPTER 30: CHAPTER 29: WAKING UP, PART 2
Ryzel anticipated that everyone would find out he was married to Layton Lewis, but he expected it to take at least a day.
It was only a few hours after they got married and their marriage was already known.
"Yes, the system instantly updated my life account after detecting that I am married. That’s why everyone learned about it faster than usual."
"I see."
Everyone with a high rank in the federation has an online account.
They are not permitted to use nicknames, and the federation’s main system was responsible for authenticating and protecting those accounts.
To prevent fraud, they developed a life account for everyone with a higher status.
Everyone can still update whatever they want, just like a regular online account, but the public can see all of their updates, and they can’t set anything to private.
The system will also automatically update their key status, such as whether they are married, living, or anything else.
There are a lot of night owls in the Federation, so it wasn’t surprising for them to know about the updated status of Layton Lewis immediately.
As long as they are paying attention or following the account of Layton Lewis they would surely be notified if there are any changes in their male god’s account.
Ryzel didn’t bother to check his messages or calls but immediately looked for the trending topics online.
He was certain that Layton Lewis’ marriage would undoubtedly be popular.
He is recognized as the God of War in the Federation, and the majority of the people are his admirers, so he is undoubtedly receiving a lot of attention.
Sure enough, as soon as he clicked the trending page, he saw that everyone was talking about them.
[The marriage of General Lewis!]
[Who is the marriage partner of General Lewis?]
[Layton Lewis Vespertine, the God of War of the Federation, finally has a partner! ]
[The beautiful guide of General Lewis!]
[How high is the matching rate between General Lewis and his guide?]
[The most heartbreaking event of the year!]
Ryzel looked through the posts and comments online. He was astounded by how quickly netizens sought information.
After the system updated General Layton Lewis’ status, netizens quickly discovered proof of the marriage.
They also found a lot of information about him, the guide who became the general’s companion.
They found out where he studied, who his parents are, his current reputation, and even what happened to him with his ex.
"Wow, everyone is really powerful! They promptly dug up things about me!" Ryzel exclaimed as he read the posts and comments about them.
"Don’t worry, I’ve already applied to keep your information confidential. All they can know is your basic information and the things everyone already knows about you."
He must keep his information confidential because he is General Layton Lewis’ partner.
If his information was marked as private, the main brain would filter out any information about him before it could be viewed publicly.
"Thanks for making my information private earlier."
Ryzel realized that if his information had not been made private sooner, netizens hunting for information about him would have dug out all of his childhood information till he grew up.
When it comes to researching a topic of interest, everyone is very capable.
Ryzel can’t really blame the netizens because their male god got married abruptly.
Many netizens have long been talking about Layton Lewis’ marriage.
A number of well-known guides were suggested as possible candidates for Layton Lewis’ wife.
However, whenever those recommendations were brought forward, they were always rejected following a lengthy battle of wits with everyone.
Until yet, no guide has been chosen as the best choice for Layton Lewis’ wife. It is clear that many people believe that no one can match their male god.
Now that their male god suddenly have a partner they were all curious about who it is.
They would surely scrutinize everything to determine whether the person married to their male god was worthy.
Ryzel was unconcerned with their behavior because he had grown accustomed to it through his friend Lyre.
Lyre, who was constantly pursuing dramas and different artists, was also chasing a number of male gods.
Once his male idols are in a relationship, he will be among the first to evaluate his idol’s partner to determine if he or she is up to par with his male god.
Lyre would also drag him along to assist in the search for information on his idol’s partners whenever he had a hard time searching for information.
Ryzel was better at looking for clues with limited information, which is why Lyre would constantly ask for his assistance when he couldn’t find anything.
If he wasn’t too busy doing his research or any school requirement, he would always help out Lyre.
So, he was well aware that as soon as he married Layton Lewis Vespertine, he would be scrutinized by the public.
Ryzel was aware that netizens such as Lyre do not have evil motives; they are simply concerned about their idols.
So, he is unconcerned about people who are looking for him. He simply does not want all of his personal information made public.
He would, of course, feel uncomfortable once all his information was circulated, so he was very grateful to Layton Lewis for applying to upgrade his information privacy right away.
As the partner of a general, he was indeed entitled to have all his information private to serve as his protection, but it won’t automatically update, like the status of Layton Lewis on his account.
The general or the person with an appropriate rank in the army needed to apply for it before the system could recognize the command and hide all the information about their partners aside from their basic information.
Some people do not apply for it right away, instead waiting a month after their marriage for the system to automatically update their partners’ privacy status. That is why netizens would already be aware of them.
Fortunately, Layton Lewis was attentive enough to promptly upgrade his privacy status as soon as they received their marriage certificate. So, he was sincerely grateful to Layton Lewis.
"No need to thank me. It is my responsibility as your partner to take care of it. In the future, you don’t need to say thank you to me," Layton Lewis said while looking at him intently.
Ryzel looked into Layton’s eyes and said, "Okay, I understand."
After answering, Ryzel went back to browsing his light brain.
He checked his call logs and saw that several of his acquaintances had called him, as well as his so-called relatives.
"Star, sort my messages for me. Separate the messages from my acquaintances and my so-called relatives."
There are a lot of messages he received if he looks at them one by one, he won’t be able to finish reading them immediately.
Letting Star sort, it out would be better.
"Okay, master. Please wait a little bit."
After Star organized his messages, he also started reading his messages.
The majority of the messages congratulate him on being able to marry, albeit many still wonder if he really married General Layton Lewis.
Ryzel can’t help but be amused by the style of their messages. They appeared to have copied and pasted their messages, since they all followed the same pattern.
First, they congratulated him on his successful marriage. They will then inquire as to whether he was truly married to General Layton Lewis.
Those messages with that pattern are from his classmates and other acquaintances. The messages from his relatives also have a different pattern.
His family’s messages began with a question about whether he truly married General Layton Lewis. Then they’d congratulate him on finding a partner. Then they’d invite his partner for their home visitation.
They must have been concerned about themselves when they learned that he had married the general and had acquired a backer.
He was certain that they had already confirmed the news because, in the latter portion of the messages, they begged to bring the general home to meet his relatives.
Ryzel was aware that his relatives were just interested in reaping financial rewards from his marriage.
He was sure that they had already devised a scheme to benefit themselves through his marriage.
He also understood that if he requested his inheritance outright, his relatives would have countermeasures in place.
Ryzel just looked at those messages from his relatives and didn’t intend to respond to any of them.
He doesn’t want his so-called family to be pleased, therefore he should simply cause them anxiety by not responding at all.
He didn’t reply to any of his relatives’ messages, but he patiently replied to all the messages from his acquaintances. He thanked them and admitted that he was indeed married to General Layton Lewis.
As soon as he replied, many of those who were waiting for it responded with startled and excited responses.
After expressing their excitement, they all congratulated him and advised him to enjoy his first day of marriage.
