After Breaking Up, I Married the General
Chapter 63 - 62: Planning the Wedding
CHAPTER 63: CHAPTER 62: PLANNING THE WEDDING
"Don’t worry Mrs. Sarah, Layton Lewis is treating me well. It is also my duty to do whatever I can do to help him return to the original state of his mental sea. If he treats me badly in the future, I will surely ask Mrs. Sarah for help," Ryzel said with a smile.
"No need to call me Mrs. Sarah. You and Layton Lewis are already married so you can just call me mom and just call him dad," Mrs. Sarah said with an encouraging smile.
Ryzel hasn’t called anyone mom and dad for a long time so he paused for a second before agreeing to Mrs. Sarah’s demand.
He was indeed married to Layton Lewis so it is indeed better to call Mrs. Sarah and Mr. Henry, mom and dad. It would be less hassle in a long time.
"Okay, mom," Ryzel called out obediently with a bright smile.
"Wow, beautiful! I’ve been wanting to have a child like you for a long time! When I was pregnant with Lewis I was hoping to have an obedient and beautiful child.
Unfortunately when he was born he was indeed handsome but he didn’t smile much and wasn’t even cute. I gave up my expectations about him when he grew up.
So, I was even hoping for a second child but until now there was still no sight of it," Mrs. Sarah rambled.
He didn’t expect Mrs. Sarah to be acting too enthusiastically. He thought Layton Lewis just said those warnings as a joke but it seems to be true.
Mrs. Sarah really continued speaking as soon as she had a chance. What she was saying was even mixed but Ryzel didn’t mind as he can get more information about Layton Lewis and how he grew up.
"Thank you, mom," Ryzel answered.
"No need to say thanks as what I said is correct. You are truly beautiful and cute. No wonder all the people online are saying that both of you are really match made in heaven.
Both of you look beautiful together with just your looks and you also have a high degree of matching rate. The online community is abuzz with your affairs.
I’m also really surprised that someone actually has a high degree of match rate with Lewis.
I thought it would just reach the threshold for marriage. I am sorry I am not really underestimating you. It’s just that I already tried pairing Lewis with a lot of guides but the result was always the same. It didn’t even reach five percent.
I was really surprised that both of you reached a very high level of compatibility.
I almost lost hope for Lewis’ recovery. The doctors and other people’s guides can’t do anything about Lewis’ mental sea. I also tried it many times but I couldn’t even clean a lot of pollution before my mental power was swallowed by the pollution." Mrs. Sarah said continuously.
"Don’t worry mom I will definitely restore the Layton’s mental state," Ryzel said confidently, assuring Mrs. Sarah.
"Mom, can you stop with that first," Layton said as he looked at his mother who was continuously rambling.
"Ok, then I will stop. Now let’s talk about your wedding, as you already registered your marriage we should have your wedding as soon as possible. Lewis, Ryzel, when do you want your wedding to be?" Mrs. Sarah asked.
As soon as Layton Lewis stopped Mrs. Sarah immediately went to the point and talked about holding a marriage ceremony.
"Mom, you’re the one who is familiar with preparations and other things so you can decide when our wedding will be as long as it will be held within a month. My leave is only a month long," Layton Lewis said.
"Only a month? Why didn’t you take a longer leave if I remember you didn’t take any leave for the past years, right?" Mrs. Sarah asked.
"Sarah, you know that can’t be possible right?" Mr. Henry, who was just listening at the side, answered as he was the one who agreed with the one month leave of Layton Lewis.
"I know, but can’t you make it a little longer? You know he didn’t take a leave for years," Mrs. Sarah said.
"I can’t do anything about that as a general. The longest leave of absence he could take is a month. He can’t take any longer than that as he still has a lot of things to do. Why don’t you just decide about the wedding date instead?" Mr. Henry said and immediately diverted the conversation back.
Ryzel didn’t know that Layton Lewis took a one month leave but he didn’t know that it was already the longest leave of absence a general can apply for. Well it is indeed understandable because as a general they would surely have a lot more things to do.
He also didn’t know that Layton Lewis really hadn’t taken a leave of absence for years. There have always been rumors about it that he saw online sometimes but he didn’t care much about it.
However, it seems that the rumor was indeed true. If he hadn’t taken a leave of absence for the past few years it means that most of the time Layton Lewis really spent his time staying in the frontlines.
He has been staying on the frontlines all the time with his terrible condition and stayed there without resting. It really was surprising that he still survived until this day without even affecting his work.
"Oh right, hmm, let’s hold your wedding at the very end of this month. Let’s have your wedding on February 30. At least you still have 2 weeks before your leave ends and Ryzel also doesn’t have to worry about his classes or anything as they are still on their semester break. What do you guys think?" Mrs. Sarah decided and then asked.
"I’m okay with it."
"I’m also okay with it but is the rest of the time enough to prepare for the wedding?" Ryzel asked.
"Yes, of course no need to worry about it. If I’m not thinking about the arrival of guest it is even okay to hold it 3 days later," Mrs. Sarah answered.
"Three days?"
"Yes, it is enough to prepare your wedding in three days. Mervin already informed us that the wedding you want to have is one of the common and most simple type of wedding so of course three days is enough to prepare everything," Mrs. Sarah answered with a confident smile.
It seems that Mervin was well acquainted with Mrs. Sarah as he even informed her about their decision at that time.
"I see," Ryzel nodded in understanding.
"As you have already decided on the style and theme of your wedding, it is very easy to arrange everything. You can just leave everything to me and your friends. We would be the one arranging things for your wedding."
"Thank you mom!" Ryzel said.
He was not really into arrangements or anything in a banquet so it is indeed better for them to arrange everything.
"By the way, I already contacted a designer for you guys, he will be coming later. He would be tailoring your suits on the day of your wedding," Mrs. Sarah said.
Mrs. Sarah really acts fast, she already arranges for a tailor on the day of their visit. She was really efficient.
With the tailor arriving today, at least they don’t need to travel back and forth just for their measurement. Actually they could just have their hologram be sent with their exact measurement but it seems that the designer Mrs. Sarah was one of the few who still wanted to measure the real thing.
Most of the designers were already used to just using the data from holograms to make the measurements and wouldn’t need to meet their clients personally. However, there are still some who insist on doing it on their own.
Ryzel knew about it because one of his classmates who was also talented in design was one of the few designers who still measured on their own and met their clients.
He heard Lyre ask about the reason why he insisted on doing it. Then he heard that it was because they could do clothes that would better match the temperament and highlight the good sides of their clients.
"Okay, then we will wait for the designer before going back," Layton Lewis said.
"What else do I need to do for the wedding? Ryzel asked.
He already knew that Mrs. Sarah and the others would be the one responsible for the arrangements of his wedding so he was just asking if he needed to do something himself.
"Oh, you and Layton Lewis can write a list of the people you guys wanted to invite. Then, after I finish the list of the invitation you need to at least memorize the important people that would be attending your wedding, later on."
"Okay I will do that," Ryzel said and nodded.
