CHAPTER 164: CHAPTER 164: REMINISCENCE (64)
"I need to go to the bathroom."
Florence Fuller made the request.
Eric looked at her coldly: "I advise you not to play tricks or think about using someone else’s phone to call the police. I’m telling you in advance, it’s useless."
Florence said nothing, just looked at him coldly.
There were no women in this group, and they all walked to the bathroom door, letting Florence go in.
Then they waited at the door, attracting frequent side glances from people around.
Florence knew she couldn’t escape, especially since her wounds were still hurting.
She borrowed a passerby’s phone and called Ethan Harper.
The unfamiliar number and familiar voice momentarily calmed Ethan Harper: "Florence, don’t be afraid, I’m already at the airport."
Abigail Monrose had told him that Florence Fuller was captured by Eric, he immediately investigated, then rushed to the airport.
"I’m here at the restroom, they’re all blocking outside."
"Wait a bit before coming out." Ethan Harper’s hurried steps were accompanied by a tense voice: "Are you alright?"
"Not very well," Florence exhaled, "my wound really hurts."
"They hurt you!"
"Yes!"
"This bunch of bastards!" he cursed, "I’m on my way, wait for me, nothing will happen."
"Okay."
Florence returned the phone to the passerby and thanked him. She leaned against the bathroom wall, quietly enduring the pain as she waited.
Soon, she heard voices outside.
"Young master."
"You all should head back, leave her to me," Ethan Harper coldly said.
"Sorry, the master said, we..."
The voice suddenly stopped, and Florence came out to see Eric holding his face.
A stream of nosebleed flowed down from his nose.
Ethan Harper’s fists were clenched. As he tilted his head, he saw Florence standing at the bathroom door.
"Come here." He gently said.
Florence walked over.
Even though she was wearing a jacket, as she walked over, Ethan Harper saw the light-colored clothes on one side of her shoulder soaked in red.
Ethan Harper’s eyes flickered slightly; in the next second, he took a few steps forward and fiercely kicked Eric over.
Eric fell to the ground, and no one in the group dared to stop him.
Eric’s expression was pained, before he could get up, Ethan Harper walked over to him: "Who gave you the orders to hurt her, was it you or him?"
Eric gasped, kneeling in front of him: "Young master, you’re opposing the master now."
"Get lost!"
Ethan Harper harshly reprimanded, turned around, and held Florence’s hand to take her away.
Seeing this, the group looked slightly moved, but dared not step forward to stop them from leaving.
After all, Ethan Harper was the rightful sole heir of the Harper Family.
Might even be the future master.
Ethan Harper took Florence straight to the hospital; those who hurt Florence did so with restraint, leaving her in significant pain but not in life-threatening danger.
The clothes on her back were deeply stained with blood, and Ethan Harper sent her into the operating room, waiting anxiously at the door.
He didn’t even notice when Abigail Monrose arrived.
"What happened?" Abigail Monrose looked at him with worry in her eyes, heart trembling.
Ethan Harper blinked his distracted eyes: "She got slashed on her shoulder blade, they intended to take her back to France."
"What on earth does this person want!" Abigail Monrose gritted her teeth in anger: "Can’t he just let us live in peace?"
When Florence had an accident, she called that person, but Arthur Harper didn’t answer her calls, she was anxious and worried, luckily Ethan Harper found Florence in the end.
"I dragged her into this," Ethan Harper thought about the large patch of blood on Florence’s back, yet at the very last moment before entering the operating room, she was still saying she was fine.
Stopped bleeding won’t be fatal.
But how much did it hurt when she got wounded?
"You’ve said yourself that you wouldn’t give up on Florence." Abigail Monrose looked at her defeated and powerless son: "If you decide to give up on Florence to return to the Harper Family, then you’re no son of mine."
Abigail Monrose loathed that family, even to the point of hatred.
Ethan Harper said nothing. He had thought about this issue long ago, if his departure could secure Florence’s safety, he hesitated, but couldn’t do it.
He couldn’t even say the word "separate," he was in pain but was addicted to Florence.
He knew clearly he couldn’t let her go.
He gave up everything at the Harper Family to be with her, but that father wouldn’t agree.
"Once Florence gets better, I’m planning to go back to France!" Abigail Monrose’s eyes filled with a cold light: "I want to see what exactly he’ll do."
After Florence’s wound was stitched, she came out, the anesthesia hadn’t worn off yet, so she was still asleep. Abigail Monrose and Ethan Harper kept watch over her.
When Florence woke up, it was already late at night. Abigail Monrose showed concern for her, and as they talked, her eyes grew red.
Florence gave her a reassuring smile: "It’s okay, Aunt Monrose."
Abigail Monrose’s tears fell down: "You always say it’s okay, how can it be okay."
"I’m still here." She said cheerfully.
Florence felt a touch on her cheek, Ethan Harper was touching her face, looking at her seriously, as if wanting to say sorry, but realizing Florence disliked that phrase, he swallowed it back.
"Can I go home, I don’t want to stay in the hospital," Florence said.
"But..."
"I really don’t like hospitals."
Florence said.
"I’ll go... ask the doctor."
At one in the morning, Florence was discharged from the hospital.
The hospital provided medication and instructions, plus the Monrose Family had a family doctor, until Florence’s wound healed, she would stay there.
Originally, Ethan Harper alone could look after her with meticulous care, and with Abigail Monrose also helping, Florence felt her wounds healed even faster.
"It’s almost healed, no need to apply medication again, just wait for the scabs to fall off, don’t scratch it. But maybe because of the depth of the wound, there might be a scar," the family doctor said.
Ethan Harper went silent: "Scar removal..."
"It doesn’t matter, it’s on the back and can’t be seen," Florence said.
The doctor packed his things and left.
Ethan Harper didn’t look well: "The wound is quite large, really doesn’t it matter?"
"You seem worried about this," Florence looked at him, seriously thought about it: "It seems so, you do often see my back in bed."
Ethan Harper was caught in a dilemma by her words, helplessly: "Florence."
"Am I wrong?" She was indifferent: "Then from now on, in bed we’ll just pass on the back..."
Her mouth was covered by Ethan Harper, but he couldn’t stop her teasing gaze, he helplessly leaned over and bit Florence on the cheek: "I’ve really spoiled you rotten."
Florence exclaimed with an "ouch," accusing: "You bit me!"
She pulled away Ethan Harper’s hand, touched her face, then wiped it on him before running out of the room shouting: "Aunt Monrose, Ethan Harper bullied me, he bit me so hard it hurt."
Ethan Harper followed out, Florence had already run downstairs to Abigail Monrose’s side.
"Ethan! What are you doing! Florence isn’t fully healed, why are you teasing her!"
Florence looked at Ethan Harper, with a sly expression.
Ethan Harper couldn’t help but laugh.
