After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again
Chapter 200: Definitely Present the Harper Family with Both Hands
CHAPTER 200: CHAPTER 200: DEFINITELY PRESENT THE HARPER FAMILY WITH BOTH HANDS
Florence Fuller pushed him away and turned around to take out the divorce agreement from her bag: "Sign it, and we can part on good terms."
Part on good terms, huh?
Luke Gardiner grabbed the divorce agreement and raised his hand to tear it up, but Florence quickly stopped him by grasping his hand: "Luke Gardiner!"
"I’m not getting divorced!" Luke Gardiner looked at her: "You’ll never get rid of me in this lifetime."
Florence gritted her teeth: "Fine, then we’ll just take it to court. Luke Gardiner, don’t regret it later."
"Fine, even if it means taking down the entire Gardiner Family, I’m telling you, I won’t sign it!"
"Madman!" Florence looked at him with heaving breaths: "You’re a madman!"
"Yes, I’m a madman!" Luke Gardiner half-heartedly laughed mockingly: "I never thought I’d fall for a woman who doesn’t love me and treats me with disdain. I’m pathetic. I go out of my way to meet you, to make you happy, yet I’m afraid of bothering you. But you, all you think about is divorce."
"Luke Gardiner, you did this to yourself."
"It’s come to this, I don’t mind." He laughed, his eyes fixated on Florence with obsession: "Even so, you came to find me today, and that makes me happy."
"You have..." Florence didn’t finish her sentence before Luke Gardiner reached out and forcefully pulled her into his arms, kissing the lips he longed for day and night.
Florence struggled fiercely in his arms, her legs and feet pinned down. Luke Gardiner bit her lips, refusing to let go. Florence freed a hand to push his neck back, and as he released her lips, she slapped him hard.
Luke Gardiner’s face turned from the slap, and before he could react, another slap landed on the other side of his face.
Florence glared at him angrily: "Luke Gardiner, you’re despicable beyond belief."
Luke Gardiner sneered coldly, touching his sore cheek, and asked her: "What do you plan to do next, spread all my past scandals? Stir up public outrage to condemn me?" He laughed bitterly: "It doesn’t matter, they can say what they want, but marriage... is something I will never end. I could even show in front of the cameras my determination for you. Maybe you could still use every means possible to divorce. Isn’t it true that Mr. Harper would help you? But what if he got dragged into this too? Can you say you’ve never slept with him?"
"You’re utterly unreasonable." Florence said.
"Say what you want." Luke Gardiner gritted his teeth: "Even if we’re a resentful couple, if you want a divorce, there’s only one way."
Florence guessed he wouldn’t have anything good to say but asked anyway: "What?"
"If I die!"
Florence seethed, while Luke Gardiner shook his head again: "No, even if I’m dead, I can’t let you go. If I die, everything from the Gardiner Family will be yours, and you’ll have to stay and guard it all."
"Insane!" Florence cursed: "Luke Gardiner, no matter how hard it is to get this divorce, I will do it!"
She finished her sentence and turned around, decisively leaving.
Luke Gardiner watched as her departing figure disappeared. The empty office echoed with his desolate laughter.
And it came to this...
Florence angrily left the Gardiner Clan and returned to her company. Lily Hart saw her return, and judging by her angry expression, assumed she had argued with the Gardiner again.
She stepped forward: "Boss, well... Mr. Harper is here, waiting inside your office."
Florence was stunned; Ethan Harper had actually returned from France.
"I see." Her expression wasn’t good: "You all can leave when it’s time, push all my subsequent work aside."
Lily Hart nodded, seeing her gloomy face.
Florence entered the office. Ethan Harper, sitting on the couch, snapped back to reality when he saw her unhappy face.
He noticed her lips, usually bare of lip gloss, had a wound, leaving them without words as he stood up.
The two had parted on bad terms on the phone that day, and when Florence stopped answering his calls or messages, he decided to fly back to see her.
Florence pushed open the door of the office’s rest room, went in, threw her bag, and took off her coat.
Ethan Harper paused but followed her inside, picking up Florence’s bag from the floor and placing it back on the sofa. He approached the person standing by the large window.
"Florence."
Familiar breath approached, and Florence turned her gaze to him.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Florence didn’t speak, looking at him without blinking, then suddenly pushed him onto the bed, straddling him.
Just as Ethan Harper was about to speak, Florence’s kiss silenced him, kissing him urgently as if seeking something desperately. She skillfully undid Ethan Harper’s clothes, revealing his muscular upper body. Ethan grabbed her hand: "Florence, don’t... What’s wrong?"
Florence eyed his expression, squeezing lightly with her hand. Ethan couldn’t help but gasp, while Florence looked at him: "You don’t want to?"
"But... there’s no condom."
Florence didn’t want to care about that at the moment: "Just don’t go all the way."
The curtains automatically closed, and the room plunged into darkness as the sounds of their panting filled the air.
Coming out of the bathroom, placing Florence back on the bed, she now felt exhausted, lying in Ethan Harper’s arms and drifting to sleep.
Ethan Harper glanced at the time; it was eight in the evening, four hours had passed.
He turned on the bedside night light, and the girl sleeping beside him opened her eyes, asking what time it was.
"Eight o’clock."
Florence moved a bit to another side, exposing large expanses of fair skin, and Ethan pulled up the blanket to cover her more.
She lifted her leg to rest on Ethan Harper’s abs, lazily asking him: "Why did you come back?"
"I was afraid you were still angry."
Florence had guessed it was about that matter.
"If I remember correctly, when I went to France, I heard your father in the hospital woke up."
Her foot danced on his body, reigniting the flame Ethan thought had faded. Without stopping her, he replied: "You know everything, don’t you?"
"Yet not everything," Florence said, "I can’t completely trust what Jason Harper said."
"He’s very dangerous."
"I’m more curious if he’s more dangerous or if you are," Florence said.
Ethan Harper’s handsome face showed a trace of a helpless smile: "If I’m dangerous, would you still like me?"
Florence raised her leg to press against his shoulder, half-squinting: "What do you think?"
Ethan turned his head to kiss her ankle, then pressed on top of her with her in that position: "Whether you like it or not, from now on, you won’t get rid of me."
He kissed Florence’s skin ambiguously: "Please wait for me, once I settle everything, I’ll present the entire Harper Family to you with open arms."
Florence touched his face, satisfied, as her eyes narrowed.
