CHAPTER 205: CHAPTER 205: NO LONGER KEEPING YOU

Florence Fuller paused, realizing: "No, I’m just here to check on you."

The nurse saw this and went out first, leaving the space for the mother and daughter.

"You’re back from your business trip." Amelia Linney patted the spot next to her on the bed.

Florence Fuller sat in the chair by the bed and nodded.

"Tired?" Noticing she looked a bit weary, Amelia Linney reached out to tidy the loose hair beside her.

"It’s alright." Florence Fuller looked at her.

"If it’s alright, then there must be something going on." Amelia Linney looked at Florence Fuller seriously: "What’s happened, tell mom."

Florence Fuller pressed her lips, pondering for a moment and said: "My biological mother came to find me, but she’s not doing well now."

Amelia Linney didn’t know much about the things happening in the Fuller Family, but within her knowledge, the Fuller Family was considered a prominent family in Cloudsea City, how could she not be doing well, she was quite puzzled: "Is it a family conflict?"

Florence Fuller shook her head and began to narrate.

Listening to the story, Amelia Linney’s expression transformed from seriousness to helplessness, she looked at the girl in front of her with her head bowed and said slowly: "Florence, she is your biological mother who gave you life. She... indeed hasn’t treated you well, but now with the situation as it is, if you ignore her completely, do you know what will become of her?"

Florence Fuller shook her head: "I don’t want to know. I actually don’t want to care, but I feel like I can’t. Her becoming like this isn’t what she deserves, but I..."

She looked at Amelia Linney, her voice hoarse.

Amelia Linney gazed at her tenderly: "Exactly, that’s why you can’t just ignore her."

Florence Fuller was struggling with her conflicted emotions.

If she didn’t care about Amelia Linney now, her conscience wouldn’t let her rest.

Amelia Linney reached out and held her hand: "If you really want to trace it back, maybe you should blame us for sending you back to the Fuller Family. But you didn’t, Florence, you’re actually a kind-hearted child; she is the mother that gave birth to you, there’s no need to hesitate about helping her. Just do what you should do."

Florence Fuller’s mind revolved with Amelia Linney’s words, she didn’t know what to say, she only felt that her agitated emotions reached a peak at that moment, and she lay down at Amelia Linney’s bedside.

Amelia Linney gently stroked her head.

Florence Fuller stayed overnight with Amelia Linney at the hospital.

The next morning, she picked up Laura Yates, headed straight to the airport to fly to Cloudsea City.

The car stopped directly in front of the Fuller Corporation building, Laura Yates was puzzled: "Florence, what are we doing here?"

"Let’s go."

Florence Fuller said.

Laura Yates didn’t know what was happening, so she followed beside her and walked in.

Christopher Fuller’s secretary was already waiting at the elevator doors for her, and upon arriving, they led Florence Fuller toward the office; Florence Fuller glanced at Laura Yates beside her, telling the secretary: "Take her to the lounge to wait, I will go find Christopher."

The secretary nodded and turned to escort Laura Yates to the lounge.

Florence Fuller had called Christopher Fuller in advance, so he naturally knew about the matter, and had the contract prepared.

"Two percent of the shares is the allotment of the Fuller Clan’s subsidiary company. Though it’s not much, the annual proceeds should suffice to keep her life unchanged as before. Look carefully, if there’s no problem then have her sign it."

Florence Fuller looked over the contract, found nothing unusual, and thanked him.

Christopher Fuller chuckled: "No need to thank me, after all, she’s not directly involved in the matter, maybe she’s just a bit foolish, that’s why she’s like this now."

Florence Fuller handed the contract over, and Christopher Fuller had his assistant take it to Laura Yates for her to sign.

"I heard Clara Fuller has fallen out with her. If she finds out that you’ve given her shares, will she come back to her and then squander the money?" Christopher Fuller asked.

"Two percent, like you said, isn’t much. It’s given away and can be taken back. However she chooses to live her life depends on her." Florence Fuller said.

"It’s kind of you to aid her, but really, there’s no need to put much effort into her; just give some money to maintain her and that’s enough." Christopher Fuller said: "Come have dinner at my place tonight, meet Miranda?"

"No, I came empty-handed; I’ll visit next time."

"Family doesn’t need gifts to see each other." Christopher Fuller said: "No problem, staying for a meal isn’t a hassle."

"Better not, I must fly to Southtown later, there’s some business to attend to." Florence Fuller said.

Upon hearing this, Christopher Fuller didn’t insist: "Alright, then let’s dine next time."

Just as the name Miranda Sunworth was mentioned, the office door was suddenly pushed open, Miranda Sunworth stepped in with strides: "Dinner... ate."

She paused seeing Florence Fuller, smiled: "Florence is here too."

Florence Fuller politely greeted her as sister-in-law, acknowledging her presence.

She then looked at Miranda Sunworth’s stylish urban attire, thought for a moment and asked: "Are you working at Fuller Corporation too?"

"Yes, I joined the creative department here several months ago." She set down the thermos she was holding: "I didn’t know you’d come, shall we go out for a meal instead?"

Florence Fuller shook her head, stood up: "You go ahead, my visit was quite impromptu, I’ll leave after finishing what I need to do. Let’s dine properly another time."

Christopher Fuller nodded: "Then we won’t keep you."

Florence Fuller waved and left the office to find Laura Yates in the lounge.

Laura Yates was sitting there, the nearby assistant who had delivered the contract was explaining something; Florence Fuller walked over seeing her holding the contract unsigned, asked: "Is there any question?"

Laura Yates saw her appear, looked at the contract in her hand: "Florence, what’s this..."

"Don’t want the money?" Florence Fuller asked her: "Or do you plan to stay and live in the Yates Family forever."

Laura Yates bit her lip: "I really didn’t come to you for all this, I..."

"If you don’t want it, tear up the contract, and don’t come to me for anything in the future. Or do you think it’s too little?"

"No, no, no." Laura Yates quickly shook her head: "I’m just afraid you think I came to you just for the money..."

Florence Fuller squinted, Laura Yates noticed her slight impatience and signed the document while lowering her head.

The assistant kindly stowed away the contract: "Ms. Yates, if you have any future questions regarding the contract payments, feel free to contact me." He handed over a business card.

Laura Yates accepted it dazedly.

Florence Fuller said: "Let’s go."

Laura Yates followed her into the elevator, lowering her gaze and saying: "Thank you."

Florence Fuller glanced at her: "Once you’re back at the Yates Family, pack up your things and move out."

Laura Yates knew Florence Fuller would arrange a new residence for her.
