After Prison, She Shocks the World
Chapter 175 Fu Bing’s New Assistant
CHAPTER 175: CHAPTER 175 FU BING’S NEW ASSISTANT
Lian Yingting stared at this completely unfamiliar face, trying to find Han Hu’s shadow within her.
Han Hu wiped away her tears, her voice trembling. "Brother, I can’t go back. Take back what belongs to the Lian Family; don’t let outsiders defile our possessions."
Lian Yingting shuddered. "How can you prove you’re Han Hu? If you’re still alive, why did you fake your death in a fire? If you escaped back then, why suddenly appear now? Is Han Yue’s situation related to you?"
"The person she hit was me. Shen Linmin gave me an extra glance, which made her angry. You know what happened after that."
"You came back just to get revenge on that family of three?" Lian Yingting asked, finding it hard to believe.
"Yes."
"If you wanted revenge, you could have just told me. I wouldn’t have stood idly by. There was no need for you to pay such a huge price."
Lian Yingting was lost for words for a moment. He didn’t know what to say.
His aunt and Han Hu always deliberately pushed them away. They could have helped with so many things and were more than willing to, but they never said a word, determinedly making their own paths narrower and narrower.
Han Hu opened her mouth but couldn’t find the words to retort.
It was true. She and her mother had never been without options; they actually had support. Their pride had caused their tragedy. They stubbornly refused to resolve issues that could have been settled by simply speaking up. Her mother lost her life! She had ruined most of her own life!
"I can’t go back; I haven’t been able to for a long time. Brother, help me retrieve those things, and also help move my mother’s grave to the Lian Family’s ancestral burial ground. As for other matters, you don’t need to concern yourself."
"What do you mean? Are you giving me that same old distant rejection again?" Lian Yingting flared up. "What do you have a mouth for? If you won’t make things clear, what’s with all the mystery? If you don’t tell me, am I supposed to rack my brains and investigate it all piece by piece again?"
"Han Hu, you’re an adult with a mouth, not a mute. Why are you still acting so immaturely?"
"Do you think I know nothing? After your supposed death, Su He divorced Li Hua within days. Li Hua died two days ago. Is that related to you?"
Lian Yingting’s gaze became piercing.
He wanted to shake Han Hu and demand what on earth she was thinking. She wouldn’t take the easy path, instead choosing to make her life exponentially more difficult.
"Don’t ask anymore. I won’t tell you."
Lian Yingting threw the will she had placed on the table. "You think I care about your mother’s things? That I should bother retrieving them? If you won’t say anything, then get out! You’re not showing the slightest sincerity for a discussion, so why should I talk to you?"
Lian Yingting had never been a patient man. He most detested dealing with people who refused to answer his questions. Interacting with such individuals felt like it shortened his lifespan.
Han Hu’s eyes reddened, her hands, resting on her knees, clenched into fists. For the first time, she spoke of the humiliation of that night.
"The night before the incident, Li Hua suddenly burst into my villa, beat me without a word, and then had people drag me into a car."
"After I got out of the car, I realized it was Wu Shipyard."
The words "Wu Shipyard" made Lian Yingting sit bolt upright. Though he never went there, he knew what that place signified.
"Li Hua auctioned me off for a single yuan to all the men present. Anyone could step into the ring with me..."
Lian Yingting couldn’t help but interrupt her. "And then what?"
"It cost one yuan to auction me, but one billion to save me. Fu Bing happened to be there with Qin Jinhai. Fu Bing couldn’t bear it, so she had Qin Jinhai pay to free me, and he saved my life."
Lian Yingting was silent for a moment. "Wei Dong, Yin Huanjiang, and Lun Shaochen were all involved in that incident, right?"
"Mhm."
Lian Yingting was again at a loss for words.
No wonder Han Hu had undergone plastic surgery. If she still had her old face, she simply couldn’t have survived.
"Now that you’ve had your revenge, live a good life. Fu Bing isn’t a difficult person to get along with; she definitely won’t mistreat you. Besides, I and the rest of the family, we will accept you."
Han Hu shook her head. "Wu Shipyard now belongs to Xiaobing. I have to take the fall for this; I can’t let people connect Xiaobing to it."
"Are you stupid? You barely escaped with your life, and now you want to throw it away? Did Fu Bing tell you to do this? When she saved you, was she already planning for today?"
"She didn’t say anything. She saved my life. I can’t just accept her kindness without repaying it."
Lian Yingting was furious. "So, you plan to pay with your life? You’re not even afraid of dying, so why can’t you use your brain and think of a way to survive this situation?!"
Lian Yingting kicked a chair in anger.
"Han Cheng’s genes, huh? Both daughters he fathered are incredibly stupid!"
"I’m telling you, if you want to die, I won’t stop you. In my heart, you’re already dead."
"You and your mother never treated us as family. Why should I waste my time and energy on people who don’t cherish me?"
Lian Yingting pointed to the office door and said coldly, "Get out!"
Han Hu knew she had angered him again.
She knew she was foolish. She knew that no matter how much she wanted to live a proper life, she couldn’t find peace. Nightmares haunted her relentlessly. Even though those who had hurt her had paid the price, she still suffered. She spent every day in torment. She wasn’t Fu Bing. She couldn’t turn the page on her suffering. Those nightmarish memories, the pain of her body being torn apart—it was all still vivid. They surfaced every night. She knew that, sooner or later, she would break down.
"I’m leaving."
With that, Han Hu stood up and left.
Lian Yingting glared angrily at Han Hu’s retreating figure. Seeing her open the door, he jumped up in a rage.
"You stop right there!"
Han Hu stopped and turned to look at him.
Lian Yingting said furiously, "Where is Fu Bing? I want to talk to her. I refuse to believe that the two of us, working together, can’t solve this problem."
After speaking, his expression was grim.
"You make sure you stay alive, and don’t you dare die! Your aunt only has you as a daughter. If you die, there’ll be no one left to offer her incense in the future! Would you have the heart to let her go hungry and cold in the afterlife?"
Lian Yingting grumbled as he dragged Han Hu out of the office.
Where he couldn’t see, Han Hu’s lips curved into a faint, almost imperceptible smile.
She had pulled in a powerful ally for Xiaobing!
Fu Bing looked at Lian Yingting, who was so angry he seemed about to explode, yet her expression remained puzzled.
"President Lian, it seems we aren’t well acquainted."
"Cut the formalities." Lian Yingting glared at Wu Shi. "Is your hideous bodyguard tight-lipped?"
"Fairly," Fu Shuo replied, her gaze turning to Han Hu. "What do you want?"
Han Hu spoke softly, "He’s my cousin."
Fu Bing furrowed her brows. Han Hu’s cousin was Lian Yingting? Wasn’t he the new heir of the Lian Family?
Fu Bing suppressed the questions in her heart. "Since President Lian is a relative of my friend, he is also my friend. Whatever it is, we can discuss it slowly."
Lian Yingting glanced at Fu Bing.
Fu Bing was younger than Han Hu, yet she was a hundred times more clever—a level Han Hu could never reach.
Lian Yingting cut to the chase. "You helped Han Hu get her revenge; you must have had an ulterior motive. What do you need me to do to repay this favor?"
