Even though Ye Qian had already given up trying to make things work with Liu Zhiyuan, she was still frightened into silence by Liu Zhiyuan’s cold glare. She remembered the slap Liu Zhiyuan had dealt her, and times when he had occasionally laid hands on her at home. She could make it public, but now Liu Zhiyuan was no longer in the military. The two of them arrived at the hospital silently. There weren’t many people inside, given that it was still early morning. However, there was a particularly prominent figure standing there, attracting attention at a glance.

Liu Zhiyuan, ignoring Ye Qian, strode toward the man with a cold, stern face, "When did you come back?"

There was no sign of brother-in-law warmth upon meeting, just a smokeless tension surrounding the two men. Xiang Weilai, the one being questioned, simply smiled slightly before replying, "I just arrived this morning."

With just one sentence, Liu Zhiyuan knew the man standing before him had changed.

"Does Xiao Rui know you’re back?" Actually, he already knew the answer in his heart without having to ask.

Without mentioning anything else, if his sister really knew he was back, she would have come over directly, or been very happy yesterday. However, she had stayed at home yesterday in a manner that suggested she knew nothing, and at this moment, only Xiang Weilai was at the hospital.

"Why did you come back?" Liu Zhiyuan pressed further, not waiting for an answer.

"I came back to check things out." Xiang Weilai replied lightly with a smile.

He didn’t say more and turned to speak with Ye Ling, who was on the bed, "I brought these back; they’re very good. I heard they came from Hong Kong. Try them out, and if they work well, I’ll ask someone to bring more over."

Xiang Weilai was referring to the milk powder placed on the bedside cabinet.

Ye Ling smiled, "I know."

Actually, once Liu Zhiyuan and Ye Qian entered, the atmosphere in the ward changed.

Shen Bin headed out to get food, so besides the four of them, there was no one else in the ward. As for the mother-in-law, she was on the other side guarding the child.

"You’re in confinement now, you shouldn’t worry about anything." Xiang Weilai picked up an apple and began peeling it slowly, "You can’t eat these, right, does Shen Bin know?"

"He knows; my mother-in-law told him." Ye Ling felt a pang in her heart, "Weilai, you should let yourself be happy. Look, I’m doing well now; Shen Bin treats me nicely, and I love him very much. Now I even have a child, yet you’re still as you are; I feel uneasy in my heart."

"The one who should feel uneasy is me. I gave up on you back then for my dad. You have the right to choose your happiness and deserve it. You haven’t done anything wrong or let me down. Don’t feel guilty all the time." Xiang Weilai kept his head down, slowly peeling the apple skin, "Actually, it’s me who should feel guilty. So now that I see you’re happy, I’m relieved. Ye Ling sighed.
