Ye He Ping blushed slightly as he spoke, "She has never been married. Her parents run a grocery store in town, they had arranged a marriage for her, but before the wedding, the man passed away. People started saying she’s unlucky for husbands, so no one proposed again, and she has lived alone all this time."

Ye Ling was shocked again by this news, realizing her father had found someone, and it was an old spinster. It seemed like good news!

"That’s great, have you arranged the wedding? Consider holding it in the village or here." Discussing her father’s wedding made Ye Ling feel somewhat awkward.

A shy smile crossed Ye He Ping’s face, "We registered when I was in town with Aunt Liu. She’s said we’re too old for a formal ceremony; that would only be a laughingstock."
