CHAPTER 35: CHAPTER 35: REUNION

The only time, even the one who survived became half-disabled.

This time, the number of beasts increased quite a bit compared to before; they thought no one would survive.

Her entire body was stained red with blood, masking her true features.

When the sound of the beasts ceased entirely, she cradled Sebastian Johnson and cried aloud.

Mia Townsend and Robert Langley slowly approached, squatted beside her, and the three cried together.

As they left the room, Lucy Eaton looked up at the bright sunlight, feeling a chill.

Receiving the bank confirmation, the trio initially wanted to call an ambulance, but to their surprise, the club refused, insisting they shower, change clothes, and then leave.

Mia Townsend’s injuries were the most severe, though not life-threatening.

On the way to the hospital, Lucy Eaton suddenly fainted without warning, startling Robert Langley and Mia Townsend.

As the taxi arrived at the hospital courtyard, Mia Townsend disregarded her own pain, and she and Robert Langley each supported one side, anxiously rushing to the emergency room.

The doctors and nurses promptly lifted Lucy Eaton onto a stretcher for treatment.

Mia Townsend and Robert Langley were too worried about Lucy Eaton to accept treatment themselves and watched her condition first.

Upon learning she had simply fainted, they relaxed, finalized the procedures, and all three began treatment almost simultaneously.

Due to the hospital being full, they couldn’t accommodate all three at once. After reapplying medication and bandaging, they were left to sit in the area designated for IV drips, receiving medication.

Lucy Eaton leaned against a chair, with Robert Langley and Mia Townsend sitting next to her.

Recalling the peril trapped inside the house, Robert Langley couldn’t help but shed tears, "My wife doesn’t know I came here; I only told her I went out to work. I’m glad I’m still alive."

Mia Townsend’s eyes also glistened, "We really have to thank Lucy; if it weren’t for her fighting for us, we surely would have died."

Robert Langley nodded, "Yes, thanks to her; it’s not easy. This life was saved by her, so from now on, my life is hers."

Mia Townsend understood his meaning and gazed at him, "Mine too."

Lucy Eaton slowly woke up half an hour later, saw herself in the hospital, and grimaced in pain as she braced herself, "Did you two get checked? Are you sure you’re okay?"

"You still worry about us; when you fainted, you really scared us," Mia Townsend gently said, "Fortunately, we’re okay; we’re fine. Robert Langley and I both deeply appreciate your saving grace. We’ve resolved that our lives belong to you from now on, to claim at will."

Lucy Eaton was amused by her words, "Did I fight tooth and nail to save you just to store your lives and kill when desired?"

"No matter what, from now on we’re your most loyal companions. Whatever you need, we’ll do, listening to you."

Lucy Eaton was deeply moved, "No need to always listen to me; you being alive is my greatest joy. I hope you’ll never again take part in such challenges; I’ve had enough of one. Living is fortunate; we’ve learned skills; let’s live well together, promise me, okay?"

Mia Townsend’s eyes were brimming with tears, and she and Robert Langley answered in unison.

The three finished three bottles of medication; by the time they finished, it was already dark outside.

Just at this moment, a nurse came over and notified them there was a single ward available with three empty beds, asking if they wanted to be hospitalized.

After discussing, the three decided to go and complete the hospitalization process.

As they followed the nurse to the inpatient ward, when the elevator stopped and they were about to exit, they happened to encounter John Green and Sweetness entering the elevator.

None expected, after eight years, they would reunite in this manner here.

Mia Townsend regretted coming to the inpatient ward at this moment. If she didn’t come here, he wouldn’t have seen her so disheveled.
