After Rebirth: The Alpha Ex-Husband Is Addicted to Me
Chapter 57: Quick-Witted
CHAPTER 57: CHAPTER 57: QUICK-WITTED
While talking, Stellan’s phone rang. She informed the caller of their location and then hung up.
Afterward, she said, "My parents are coming over."
"Why is your dad coming too?"
"To get a massage and relax," Stellan said. "You know how stressed my dad has been lately."
"True."
Lucy didn’t respond, a hint of a frosty look in her eyes.
Fifteen minutes later, Benjamin Quinn and Autumn Fletcher arrived.
Both of them wore sunglasses and didn’t take them off after coming in. Honestly, Autumn Fletcher didn’t want to be here, but considering her daughter had a premium membership card, why bother signing up for a new one? Especially since the family was going through a tough time, saving money where possible was a good idea.
Seeing Lucy, she practically looked down her nose at her, "What services do you offer here?"
"Are you asking about hairdressing or beauty services?"
"Obviously beauty services."
"Beauty services are on the second floor. Someone will attend to you there," Lucy kept a smiling face.
Autumn Fletcher coldly replied "eh" and went upstairs with her husband.
James whispered from the side, "Seeing her attitude, I just want to take a stick and poke her nose until it breaks."
Lucy laughed, "I don’t mind, so why do you?"
"I just find her disgusting," James said, walking over to Grace to check how much her hair had been softened by the product.
After a while, a female technician from upstairs rushed down to report quietly, "Sister Lucy, that man and woman who went up ten minutes ago are unbelievably difficult, super pretentious, criticizing everything about us, and speaking exceptionally rudely. Now they’re demanding you go up."
"Let’s go, have a look."
When Lucy went upstairs, Autumn Fletcher was lying there, the technician massaging her face with beauty products.
"What do you want with me?"
"Why do your beauty products have no labels? Are they unlicensed?"
"You’re joking. Our beauty products are all in white packaging and come directly from the internal supply of the Clan Green, not sold outside. It’s impossible for them to be unlicensed."
Autumn Fletcher scoffed, "Oh, your boyfriend treats you exceptionally well, providing you with such a policy."
"If that’s all, I’ll be on my way."
"Wait."
Lucy turned, "What else do you want?"
"I want you to serve me."
The technicians exchanged looks, feeling even more disgusted with Autumn Fletcher.
"Though I’m the owner of this shop, I’m only here to collect payments. If you insist on having these hands serve you, it would be possible, provided you either find yourself lying dead in a funeral parlor or needing surgery in a hospital, which are my professional specialties. Which would you prefer?"
Autumn Fletcher sat up abruptly, "How dare you curse me?!"
"How is this cursing you? I’m clearly telling you that there’s a specialization in every field," Lucy said unhurriedly. "If you want my service, Mrs. Fletcher, this isn’t the place for it."
With that, she turned and walked away. Autumn Fletcher glared at her retreating back, trembling with anger, finally sputtering out, "Sharp tongue."
Lucy went downstairs and said to Stellan, who was getting her hair done, "I’m sorry, Miss Quinn, our shop won’t allow membership cards to be used by more than one person anymore. From now on, our membership cards will be real-name registered and can only be used by the member themselves."
"Why the sudden change? Didn’t you say it was allowed before?"
"Yes, before I thought it wasn’t a problem, but after seeing a customer like your mom today, I decided to change our policy temporarily. So please inform your mother not to come around next time."
"What did my mom do?" Stellan felt baffled.
"Ask your mom," Lucy said and walked away.
She grabbed her bag and left; she had an appointment with a driving instructor today.
At this moment, she needed to go to the driving school to learn how to drive.
After all, she couldn’t always trouble Nathaniel Green. Learning to drive was for her convenience.
Her instructor was a handsome young man who was very enthusiastic and warm, especially when he saw a long-legged beauty.
Since it was an intensive course, the instructor had to guide her whenever she was available.
He needed to teach her quickly.
At four in the afternoon, unexpectedly, Jacob Green suddenly drove over.
He wore a black baseball cap and a black mask, showing only his eyes. People recognized the luxury car he drove but couldn’t figure out who the man was.
At Lucy’s practice car, she and the instructor were just about to start practical lessons.
Upon catching sight of him, Lucy was startled and quickly opened the car door to get out, "Why are you here?"
"I heard from Nathaniel that you enrolled in this driving school, so I came to have a look." His eyes scanned around and then settled on the instructor, who also got out, and immediately, he wasn’t pleased.
"No female instructors?"
"There are, but they’re already assigned to other learners."
"Come home; I’ll teach you," Jacob took her hand and started walking toward the parking area.
"I just paid the tuition."
"Forget about it."
"..."
Lucy felt his displeasure and quickly stopped in her tracks, "At least let me inform the instructor."
Jacob let go of her hand, "One minute."
Lucy jogged over to the instructor and said that her lessons would be ending there.
The instructor was perplexed, "We don’t refund tuition fees."
"That’s fine."
She turned away, and although the instructor wasn’t sure what was happening, he realized it was due to the masked man that she was ending the lessons.
Inside the car, Lucy fastened her seatbelt and asked, "It’s just learning to drive, are you really jealous of the instructor?"
"I don’t like other men being that close to you."
Lucy sighed with a smile, "Alright, alright, then from now on, my dear husband, you’ll personally teach me. You should’ve told me earlier; it could’ve saved a fee."
"Shouldn’t I be the one to say that? You didn’t even inform me you wanted to learn to drive."
"So, are you saying this is my fault?"
"How could my wife be at fault? It was my fault for not asking you proactively."
Lucy laughed and replied, "Smart answer."
Seeing her smile, Jacob’s lips curled upward, feeling happy.
Back home at Blossom Haven, he indeed taught her personally. He didn’t give instructions from the passenger seat but sat in the driver’s seat, letting her sit on his lap, enclosing her with his arms.
This position made Lucy quite uncomfortable.
But Jacob insisted because he felt differently.
Under this ’hands-on’ teaching of driving skills, Lucy learned surprisingly fast.
Jacob was very committed to teaching, occasionally making moves to satisfy his personal desires.
After an hour of teaching, Lucy was able to drive on her own.
