Chapter 153: The DNA Test Results and a Confrontation
(Elena ckwood’s POV)
I stopped and turned to face Adrian Whitmore, my heart pounding with anticipation. “Brother Adrian, actually

Benjamin Hayes approached with urgent steps, clutching a man envelope in his hands. His expression was grave as he interrupted our conversation.
“Young Master, the results have arrived,” he said quietly.
Adrian apologized with a slight bow. “Elena, please excuse me for a moment.”
He stepped aside to review what appeared to be a DNA test report. I watched his face carefully as his eyes
scanned the document.
The results remained unchanged. The paper clearly showed 99.99% confirmation.
Adrian stood frozen in deadly silence. His knuckles turned white as he nearly crushed the corner of the report
in his grip.
I glimpsed the contents over his shoulder. My expression stiffened with confusion and disbelief.
How could Sandy Parker be confirmed as a member of the Whitmore family? The scientific evidence was
undeniable.
I wondered if I had made a terrible mistake. Perhaps there were two identical moonstone bracelets and mine simply matched Sandy’s by coincidence.
My heart sank as doubt crept into my mind. Had I been foolish to believe I belonged here?
After Adrian left with Benjamin Hayes, Dorothea Whitmore returned with Jacob Hayes. She carried a small wooden box filled with her precious belongings/
The box overflowed with jewelry, antique paintings, and delicate trinkets. Each piece seemed to hold special meaning for her.
“Sweetheart, look at all these treasures I saved for you,” she said enthusiastically.
She offered each item with genuine joy. “This ne belonged to my grandmother. These earrings were a gift from Samuel.”
The more warmly Dorothea treated me, the more heartbroken I became. My hopes might have beenpletely misced.
“Has someone upset you, dear?” Dorothea asked, noticing my troubled expression.
I deflected quickly. “Perhaps you should keep these treasures safe for yourself instead.”
“They’re meant for my daughter she insisted firmly.
While organizing the “treasure box” in the bedroom, I felt overwhelmed by emotion. The weight of disappointment pressed down on my chest.

Dorothea suddenly stopped and turned. Her eyes reddened for a moment, filled with recognition band /bblonging /b
Then she copsed unconscious onto the floor.
I rushed to help Dorothea, my medical training taking over. I checked her pulse and breathing immediately.
Sandy Parker appeared at the doorway like a vengeful spirit. Her face twisted with usation and rage.
“What did you do to my mother?” she demanded shrilly.
“She suddenly fainted,” I exined while examining Dorothea’s condition. “I’m trying to help her.”
Sandy spotted the scattered jewelry around us. The sapphire brooch had fallen from my pocket during the
“You’re a thief!” she dered triumphantly. “You came here for the valuables!”
I tried to provide medical assistance as a trained healer. Dorothea’s breathing was shallow but steady.
Sandy pushed me away repeatedly. “Don’t touch her! Get away from my mother!”
Her interference was preventing me from properly treating Dorothea. My patience finally snappedpletely.
“Get out if your brain is sick!” I exploded in anger.
“Can’t you see she needs medical attention? Stop being an obstacle!”

rushed into the room with pack servants upon hearing themotion. The scene before me was chaotic
and rming.
Sandy immediately told me her version of events. “Father, this woman harmed Mother for her jewelry!”
But when I looked at Elena’s face as she lifted her head while treating my mate, I was stunned. Her resemnce to Dorothea’s younger self was striking.
The simrity was far more pronounced than Sándy’s appearance. Sandy looked nothing like either Dorothea
or myself.
Elena calmly exined her presence. “I’m a healer brought by Adrian. I’ve known Dorothea for some time.” “You can ask Jacob Hayes for confirmation,” she added professionally.
Despite the resemnce troubling me deeply, I chose to believe the DNA evidence. Science couldn’t lie about
bloodlines.
“We have our own pack physicians,” I said firmly. “We don’t need your interference.”
I ordered the servants to escort Elena out. The decision felt wrong, but the test results were conclusive.

I left thepound with a heavy heart. The rejection stung more than I expected it would.
Outside the gates, I encountered Marcus ckwood and Amber Stone. This was our first meeting since the confrontation in the private room.
I noticed his cold, indifferent demeanor immediately. He no longer approached me eagerly as he had in

Riverside City.
I interpreted this as him finally letting me go. Perhaps it was for the best after all.
As I attempted to walk past them without acknowledgment, Sandy’s voice rang out behind ime/i.
“Alpha Marcus,” she called sweetly. “Did you really agree to have dinner with me this evening as my father
mentioned?”
I paused mid–step. Hugo Ashworth’s words echoed in my mind about how I used to be different.
What had six years of being a “tolerant mate” actually gained me? Nothing but heartache and humiliation.
Instead of walking away like the old Elena would have, I grabbed a garden hose from nearby. The water pressure was strong and cold.
I drenched the surprised Sandy and others with the powerful stream. Water soaked through their expensive clothes instantly.
Sandy sputtered angrily. “Are you sick? What’s wrong with you?”
I turned off the hose and faced her with cold fury. “You’re the sick one here.”
“Asking Alpha Marcus to apany you to dinner in front of his mate- what, trying to disgust me?”
My voice grew sharper with each word. “Can’t wait to be a homewrecker?”
“If the Whitmore family knew you were being someone’s mistress, wouldn’t they beat you to death?”
