After Transmigrating into a Novel with My Boyfriend, He Turned Out to Be a Native Villain
Chapter 314: I'm Also an Intermediate Player
After hanging up the phone, Yu Li suddenly remembered she had left the last instance in such a hurry that she didn't have time to check the comments. She pulled up the small system interface. During the scene where Bo Jingmo regained his memories, the camera had lingered too long, and sure enough, the audience had noticed something unusual.
[Something feels off about Bo Jingmo at the end there. Isn't he different from usual?]
[Maybe it's because the human and ghost merged and regained consciousness? Wasn't Bo Jingmo supposed to be unconscious in the instance? Now that he has memories, of course he'd be different.]
[And I heard him call her "wife"!! They really are a couple!!]
[Damn! This couple has been fooling us all along!!]
[Who cares, they're the ultimate power couple.]
[That knife throw by Sister Li at the end was so cool.]
[But honestly, hearing Bo Jingmo pitifully recount his past made me feel bad for him. I thought he was just a crazy hospital director, but turns out he's an insecure little puppy.]
[Probably just an excuse to get more kisses from Li Li.]
After scrolling through the comments, Yu Li saw that most viewers had figured out her relationship with Bo Jingmo. Fortunately, thanks to her previous NPC roles in other instances, the reactions weren't too bad. Some viewers even seemed to suspect her unusual connection with Limu.
Yu Li's gaze swept across the screen without much surprise, but it reminded her of something. She opened her phone, found Mu Chengsi's contact, and after some thought, sent a message:
[Did anything special happen at Deva today?]
The reply came quickly:
[Yeah, I heard four players died together in an instance. The whole team got wiped, so nobody knows what actually happened.]
Yu Li rubbed her chin thoughtfully as she read the message. Before she could reply, Mu Chengsi seemed to have guessed something, her tone incredulous:
[Don't tell me... this was you?]
Yu Li raised an eyebrow slightly.
Meanwhile, in the dormitory.
Mu Chengsi was watching a drama on her phone to pass time when a notification popped up:
[Yu Li: ^O^ Yes.]
Before she could tap to open it, another message followed:
[Yu Li: Also, I'm a player now.]
Mu Chengsi: "?"
Her expression froze instantly, disbelief written across her face. Yu Li became a player? For real? Doesn't that mean Deva is screwed now? She switched back to the chat interface, holding her phone as she pondered deeply before finally sending back a cautious emoji:
[Mu Chengsi: Please go easy on me Orz]
Seeing the emoji response, Yu Li chuckled and put away her phone as she entered the kitchen. Hearing her footsteps, the man inside turned around and asked gently, "Hungry? Or is your stomach hurting again? Did you drink the warm water I left on the table?"
Yu Li nodded, "I did."
Bo Jingmo wanted to touch her but remembered his hands were still cold from washing them. Instead, he lowered his head to nuzzle her cheek. "Any plans for this afternoon? Want to go out?"
Yu Li thought for a moment, "Not really."
No sooner had she spoken than her phone vibrated twice in her pocket. She frowned when she saw the caller ID—Xin Hao? Didn't they just hang up?
Yu Li glanced at Bo Jingmo. After exchanging looks, she answered on speakerphone. Xin Hao's boisterous voice immediately filled the room:
"Yu Li! We're landing in half an hour. Didn't you just wake up? Let's grab Bo Jingmo and get lunch—I'll book a restaurant!"
Yu Li and Bo Jingmo: "......"
She frowned, "Didn't you just say we'd schedule a time?"
Xin Hao sounded utterly unbothered, "Yeah, and didn't you say anytime works? So we're coming now. What? You busy?"
"......"
Yu Li deadpanned, "I'm free, but no need for lunch. My boyfriend already cooked. Text me when you land and I'll send you a location." Without waiting for a response, she hung up.
At the airport, Xin Hao looked at the disconnected call and grinned. "Heh! Serves you right for always sassing me!"
Qi Cheng’an silently averted his gaze, "You're so immature." He'd booked these tickets long ago but deliberately didn't mention it during the earlier call.
Xin Hao clicked his tongue, "It's her fault for being ungrateful. I'm only going because I was worried something actually happened to her."
Qi Cheng’an asked, "Did you tell Yu Jiao?"
"No way. But she's probably too busy to care about us right now anyway." Xin Hao rubbed his chin, "I heard that person returned to the country. Isn't she busy preparing to welcome them?"
Standing nearby, Zhang Can asked curiously, "Who?" He knew Yu Jiao was Deva's leader—who could possibly warrant her personal reception?
Xin Hao glanced at him and said slowly, "Who else? Deva's founder, of course."
......
After a simple meal, Bo Jingmo and Yu Li prepared to meet Xin Hao. She had chosen a café with private booths. They arrived first, ordered drinks, and waited at their table.
Soon enough, Xin Hao's group entered the café. When they pushed open the booth door and saw the couple on the sofa, they froze momentarily.
Standing behind Qi Cheng’an and Xin Hao, Zhang Can peered through the gap between them. His eyes widened when he saw the woman's face—identical to the one from the instance. Holy shit, it's really her! But then his expression shifted again.
Wait... something's wrong. Why does Yu Li have the instance system's aura? Isn't she supposed to be an NPC??
Yu Li gestured for them to sit upon their arrival. But Zhang Can wasn't the only one who noticed the anomaly—the moment Xin Hao stepped into the booth, his demeanor changed instantly. He remained rooted in place, scrutinizing Yu Li warily.
"Why do you... have the system's aura on you?"
Yu Li waved a hand casually, tilting her head with a smile. "As you can see, I'm a player now too."
Xin Hao and Qi Cheng’an exchanged glances before slowly taking their seats. "You signed the contract last night?"
"Mhm."
Xin Hao frowned at her confirmation, "But weren't you an NPC in last night's instance? Is this some NPC system?"
Yu Li took a sip of coffee before responding calmly, "Not an NPC system. I'm already an intermediate player. The system said if I cleared that instance, I could skip the beginner tutorial."
"......"
Seriously, why the special treatment?
Perhaps sensing their resentment, Yu Li set down her cup and turned to Bo Jingmo with a sigh. "As for the reason, you'll have to ask my boyfriend. I don't know either."
Under everyone's collective gaze, the elegant man on the sofa lazily lifted his eyelids and said indifferently, "Couples get a discount when signing up together."
The other three: "......"
Damn you and your couple privileges!
