CHAPTER 43: MY WIVES AGE

Isabella knocked on the door of her father’s study.

"Come In, Isabella."

A moment passed in silence before her father’s voice came from within, granting her permission to enter.

She entered the study and found her father sitting at his desk, focused on reading a letter held in his hands.

"Father, I am ready. Please clarify what you meant by that," She said with a serious and demanding face.

He didn’t reply; instead, he handed the letter he was reading.

Isabella accepted the letter and began reading its contents. And as she read, her face turned ugly.

’This name...Why is the house of Karnstein sending a letter to us?" And as she kept reading, she got a clear picture of what was happening.

And also made her extremely mad.

"What do you mean by mutual love and marriage? In impulse, I had been chasing that bastard for the entire three years, and I am damn sure he didn’t even have any secret relationship," She shouted in anger and tore the letter apart in sheer rage.

"Language, my daughter, as a young Lady of our prestigious family, you shouldn’t use such vulgar terms," Her father said in a lecturing tone.

But Isabella wasn’t calm at all to listen.

"Father, how can those Bastards even think of lying in such a way to break the ceasefire and get away with it?" She uttered in confusion and rage

’How could they do as they please, and why is no one objecting?’ She thought in disbelief

Her father stood up from his seat and walked towards the window in the room.

"My daughter, it’s natural you think we should question their action, but this age is just not for war anymore...." He began his voice deep and filled with a deep meaning

"But I can’t just let Valerian become their experiment. You should know, A human or any other being can’t just shoulder the weight of more than one bloodline," she said, a valid concern for her.

After all, according to what she understood from the situation, Valerian is used as an experiment for the five races to create a hybrid.

Something that should be banned according to the ceasefire, and isn’t possible for a normal person

But she doesn’t know that Valerian is anything but normal aside from his looks as well.

However, she would soon find it out.

"My daughter, I hope you didn’t think I agreed to your crazy plan just because I am a doting father, right?" her father said with a sigh and looked at her with a cold look.

Isabella was confused by that until she realised something.

’Father helped in my plan to win Valerian over, but usually he wouldn’t go out of his way to help me in anything, especially that immature plan,’ she thought and shuddered as she realised a deeper truth.

"Don’t tell me you were after Valerian as well," she blurted out in shock.

Her father nodded and calmly looked at her, "Yes, I helped you because that boy was a very important Existence. Enough that if a ceasefire wasn’t there, another war could have started because of him."

He said with a serious look, and Isabella honestly felt betrayed.

’So he helped not because he cared for me but because Valerian was important.’ She bit her lips at the thought and looked down.

Her father didn’t bother with her reaction and continued explaining, "But I also found another interesting person because of your farce, and honestly, I hoped you never made me break up the engagement you made me arrange, especially when you couldn’t win over Valerian."

He sighed and returned to his desk. " And now that one got snatched away by the faust, I can’t believe I lost out on two gems right in front of my nose."

He rubbed his nose at the thought and gazed at his daughter in anger.

"Isabella, I am giving this as your last chance to find a way to get that boy for us, but you can’t involve the mages association," He commanded to her, looking directly without a hint of familial love one might expect from a parent.

Isabella gritted her teeth and nodded with a boy.

"As you wish, Father"

.............

.......

At Valerian’s side in a Gothic-style living room

"Valerian, you are back...Ah, Eleanor, you are here as well." Liliana, as she saw me entering the room, immediately jumped out of her couch to come and hug me, but paused immediately when she saw Eleanor beside me.

Eleanor sneered at her and mocked, "Can’t even hug him in front of how much of a scaredy cat are you?"

Liliana didn’t defend herself, but still looked resentfully at her.

’Yes, of course I am scared of you, crazy bitch, I am not crazy strong like you,’ she internally retorted at her with rage.

I facepalmed at their argument and pinched Eleanor on her waist, and she looked at me, confused. I glared at her and reminded her not to fight in front of me.

"Eleanor, what did I tell you?" I whispered in a cold voice in her ears, and she pouted in response

"Humf, at least let me bully the easy one," she whispered back at me with a Humf and looked back at Liliana, who was confused at our whispered conversation.

’Guess succubuses don’t have heightened hearing like vampires and werewolves, ’ I thought as she didn’t understand what we were whispering about.

"Argh, alright, go ahead, hug him all you want, I won’t interfere," She uttered in annoyance and stepped aside.

"Huh, did you eat something, Eleanor?" Lilaina asked in disbelief

Eleanor looked away and ignored her outright.

Liliana, not getting any response, was even more confused, but seeing her path clear now, she didn’t hesitate and ran into my arms and hugged me tight.

"Ahh, Valerian, I was so worried you suddenly fell down and didn’t wake up for an entire week." She looked into my face and said with a worried and almost teary-eyed Face.

I smiled gently at her genuine worry, patted her head, and gave a kiss on her forehead.

"I am sorry to worry you, Liliana, but it’s okay now, I am fine and..." I began to console her and whispered, "If you want, we can continue what we started that night."

At my words, Liliana immediately blushed and looked expectantly into my eyes.

"By that night, you mean..." She paused and blushed even harder, remembering how she was thoroughly conquered by me.

But before I could respond, a magic circle lit up in the middle of the room, and three figures emerged from it

The three were Alicia, Iris, and Eva.

"Where did you go altogether?" I asked curiously at them, but Alice glared at me in response

"Who do you think is the reason here? Eva had gone through her adulthood phase ahead of time because of you," she said with a sigh.

But I was confused ’What do you mean, wasn’t she already an adult’

Noticing I wasn’t understanding the meaning behind her words, she sighed again and explained, "For a human, yes, she is already an adult, but don’t forget she is a druid, and for a druid, they are of age when they cross their 200 years of age, but thats just a minimum number for some other druids, it takes more than that"

She paused and then pointed to Eva, who was silently gazing at me with a smile, not bothering to explain herself.

"And those branches that are on her head, they only grow when they hit adulthood, not when she is only barely passed thirty," She finished with another sigh and looked at me with a resentful look.

Then she decreased our distance to hug me.

"Give me your mana. You made me take her to Arcadia, an entire realm away, and I even had to give that wolf princess a lift because she forgot her stuff back at home."

Yeah, that sounds rough, but I had my attention somewhere else.

I looked at the innocently smiling Eva in disbelief.

’You are saying this innocent but hot Babe is 10 years older than huh?’ I internally screamed at the absurdity

But now that I think about it, it’s the supernatural world, but does that mean

My other wives are also potentially older than me.

I looked at Alice, who was rubbing her face on my chest, completely ignoring the annoyed look of Liliana, who got her husband snatched away, and Eleanor, who was well Jealous as always.

But couldn’t do anything...

"Alice, what is your age again?" I asked her, but she pouted at me in response

"Don’t you know that asking a lady’s age is bad manners?" she said and pinched my cheeks and continued, "but if you want to know so much, I’ll tell you."

She muttered as she kissed my cheek, "But don’t think I am old, witches don’t age after they hit their prime."

She then leaned in and whispered in my ear.

"I am—"
