CHAPTER 272: SHOPPING FOR RINGS & KNIVES.

Leo and Lily rode the bike out of the house followed by one SUV filled with six guards. After a few minutes, they reached the mall parking lot. Leo got off, and then took Lily off from her baby seat. The little girl held his hand and then she looked at several guards. She frowned and looked at Leo in a narrowed gaze.

Leo sighed and said, "Guys, don’t crowd over."

The guards nodded and all formed a circle around the two at ten feet distance. Lily sighed and said, "I am not taking them in the stores."

Leo nodded and replied, "Fine, Your Highness."

The two then walked ahead, and boarded the elevator. Lily didn’t like the idea of security, but Markus found out that Matilda had given the task to multiple people. They have been tracking them down and taking them out. So, even when they have neutralized all the hitmen, they have increased the security to reduce the risk.

The two came to the second floor of the mall, and Lily said, "Baba, look there, they have boxing kits."

Leo nodded and said, "Come, we need to find you proper kit. Your head guard is a bit loose."

Lily nodded and after some thoughts she asked, "I heard that swimming and dancing increases flexibility and muscle strength. Shall we get swimming gear as well?"

Leo shook his head and replied, "Not for now. It is winter, and when we get that pool in the backyard finished then we can get the swim gear."

Lily tilted her head and asked, "Baba, why not now?"

Leo smiled and explained, "The pool will take three weeks to finish with paint and all. You are a growing child and if your height increased at the pace it is going now, the swim gear would be too tight for you."

Lily nodded softly and asked, "Baba, how do you know all this?"

Leo chuckled and replied, "You will know all this when you read the books in school as well."

Lily hummed and she asked, "How did the people who wrote those books got to know all these things?"

Leo replied patiently while walking ahead, "They must have observed the world around them to come up with something like this."

Lily nodded thoughtfully and replied, "Well it does make some sense. I should also observe things, like those ants in the garden. I found that they don’t like sugar. They like to eat those insects. Creepy."

Leo smiled at her mumbles as he led her to the store where they purchased sport gear, and then headed to a fitness clothing brand store, and bought clothes for their workout. They even bought clothes for Snow, Anastasia and Fragrance.

Lily said, "They all must workout too."

They were shopping when they caught sight of someone they knew. Lily held Leo’s hand and asked, "What is Uncle Rao doing here with this lady? Who is this lady? Does Aunty Cherry know?"

Leo shivered, he said, "My little detective, that lady is Elvin’s secretary."

Lily hummed and said, "Come then let me check what they are doing here. If your friend dared to break my aunt’s heart, I will make sure he stays single."

Leo wanted to stop her but the goblin used her super speed skill and dashed toward Elvin. Leo had yet to react when Elvin turned around to look at the shadow that was running towards him, and he smiled brightly as he called out, "Lily, my dear niece."

Lily stopped two meters away from him and placed her hands on her waist as she asked, "So, what are you doing here?"

Elvin felt his lips twitching, he sighed and said, "I came to find a ring for your aunty. I want to propose her. We have been dating for a long time. Also, did you like the cake I got you?"

Lily looked at the secretary and replied, "Yes, it was nice, where did you get it?"

Elvin smiled and said, "I cooked it with your aunt Cherry guiding me. She is a great chef, you know?"

Lily nodded and replied, "I know she is. Did you buy the ring?"

Elvin shook his head and replied, "I cannot make up my mind."

Lily placed her hand on her forehead and said, "You are hopeless. Come with me. I will help you."

Elvin was surprised when he spotted Leo walking over. The former asked, "What is going on?"

Leo shrugged and said, "What else, you punk creating trouble for me and ruining my quality time with my daughter. Now, don’t be a nuisance for a long time, come along."

Lily took Leo’s hand who guided Elvin inside the shop with a stern gaze. Elvin knew that the young man would not give him another chance because this was sacred time. The people went inside the jewelry shop and Lily looked at the young sales lady, and she said, "Beautiful Miss, can we see engagement rings?"

The lady was surprised and then Leo nodded to the sales lady. The later led them to the side counter where they were shown several rings, and Lily leaned over to check the pieces and after running her fingers along to select one of them she said, "We will take this one."

Elvin frowned on the side and said, "Well, Lily, don’t you think this one is rather small?"

Lily turned to glare at him and then asked, "Do you think that Aunt Cherry is someone who likes to show off? This one is not a diamond, but a sapphire. If you wish to compare the price then this one is worth thrice more."

Elvin took a deep breath and said, "Yes, fine. We will buy this."

Lily clicked her tongue and said, "How can you even wish to marry someone when you don’t even know her preferences? Shame on you, my Baba designed a ring for my Ma and carved it himself. Learn something Uncle Rao, it is not so easy to manage love relationships."

Elvin bowed his head in defeat and said, "Thank you for your guidance, Master Lily."

Lily stroked her imaginary beard and replied, "Good, next time don’t give me an excuse of schooling you."

After this was done, Elvin left the mall to propose to Cherry, while Lily and Leo both came to the perfume shop. Lily selected a perfume that she liked and Leo bought it with a doting smile on his face. Then Lily took Leo to various high brand shops and they spent money as if it was air.

Finally, the people entered an ice cream parlor. They ordered a huge sundae parfait, and they both began to eat. However, Leo made sure that Lily didn’t eat too much.

...

Bishop was sitting on his wheelchair and before him sat Matilda. He asked, "What do you think? This is the best deal I can offer you."

Matilda looked at the documents before her eyes and she spoke in a mumble, "You want me to be your knife?"

Her jaw was wrapped tightly in bandages, after all, Leo really gave her a comminuted fracture, and right now, the jaw was held together with various pins and clips. Bishop nodded and said, "It has been confirmed that Leo Cardinal has something to do with the death of Carole. However, we have no evidence. He might not be a direct culprit in this situation but it is for sure not something that is unrelated to him.

The young man had every motive to avenge his family. He didn’t attack anyone else, so, if you tried to target his family, it would be nothing more than disaster. I am sure that I don’t have to remind you twice. Fight with him if you want to but only with business. No personal attacks. That was the peace deal we agreed on."

Matilda shook her head and Bishop sighed as he said, "Had he really killed Carole, or cared about you, he would have killed you to end the trouble right away. We all know that Old Luger doesn’t wish to seek international conflicts and his children are all his pawns. So, even if you were to die at Leo’s hands he wouldn’t avenge you. The choice is yours."

That said the old man leaned back in the chair and then fell silent. Matilda thought over the situation and the options she had for a couple of hours before she nodded and agreed to sign the purchase agreement. The Luger family bought all the business under the Primal Family, but only within the region of Angkor City.

Bishop Primal smiled and then after some perfunctory greetings he left the room. Matilda clenched her fists as her eyes flashed with rage. She wanted to kill Leo and Bishop for everything they have done to her. However, recalling Leo’s cruelty her resolve wavered. After all, whenever she opened her mouth, she would recall how painful it was and how Leo slapped her into this condition.

While outside the room, Bishop smiled and said, "I got myself a good knife."
