CHAPTER 298: TASKS.

The call was picked up and Markus said, "Hello, who is this?"

From the otherside, there was no sound for a few moments before a mechanical voice sounded, "Return my people to me."

Leo smiled, this confirmed his suspicion. He took over the phone and said, "Why should I? You took the contract to kill me, these people are all your nears and dears. They were perfect covers, and now that I have them, be glad that I haven’t killed them already."

The other party was silent again before he said, "What do you want?"

The voice was still the same, mechanical, and Leo replied after a thought, "Come over in person, I don’t wish to shed blood, however, it is impossible for me to trust someone I don’t know. Not only that, but you even had pictures and details of my family and their routines, so I am not trusting you at all. If you wish to protect your people, come over in person or forget it. I will not kill them, but I will not let them go back either."

The person replied after five minutes, "Fine. I will come over, don’t harm my people. Have someone from your troupe meet me at the airport tomorrow. I will be wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, I have orange hair."

Leo looked at Markus and said, "Fine, we will handle it."

That was it, the call was pit down, and Markus asked, "Sir, are you sure this guy will deliver?"

Leo nodded and replied, "From what I am feeling, this guy is a remote operator. He has two people in his team and he is the third. How he is coordinating everything that is something I would like to understand."

Leo sounded very calm now, because as the call was disconnected, he received a notification from the system, ’Ping: The death threat has been diffused. Reward: Mask Of Chaos. This mask will allow you to change how your face looks like and not even the best facial recognition softwares would be able to recognize you.’

Leo smiled and then he said, "Follow up with Simon and take this woman to the place they have taken the other one. I will see you tomorrow, I have some things to handle at home."

Markus had no problem, he took the woman inside his car, and left the airport while talking to Simon. As for Leo, he took a cab and headed home quickly. It was evening and he didn’t want to get another scolding from Lily. So, he stopped on the way and had the yellow chilli restaurant pack him a nice meal for five people with seven dishes and one dessert in it.

By the time he reached home, Clara and Symphony had left and the four ladies were waiting for him to have dinner. Leo came in with big parcels and served the dishes to the people in four plates. Lily raised his brows and asked, "Baba, why is there one plate less?"

Leo smiled and said, "I was thinking of sharing a plate with your Ma."

Lily looked at her plate and said, "I will also share with Ma."

Snow smiled and said, "Okay, come over."

Lily than sat down next to Snow and the trio began to eat from one plate. Snow asked, "Where have you been, you smell like moss."

Leo replied, "The Kara Forest."

Snow raised her brow and Leo replied "Don’t worry, it has been handled."

The young lady didn’t think much and nodded as the meal continued. Anastasia said, "Leo, the Grimm family from the stag nation wishes to collaborate with us on some charitable management. They have not been getting enough results even when they are injecting a lot of money in the famine of the Ivory nation."

Leo clicked his tongue and said, "How can they? After the royal family let their officials to commit atrocious acts in the kingdom, how can a single family handle the aftermath and succeed in redemption? Foolish efforts."

Anastasia revealed a bitter smile, because this was the story of her ancestors as well. They had been officials in the colonial era of the stag nation, now they wanted to make amends with the world by spending money, how can it be that easy. Anastasia said, "They saw the way we worked in the earthquake crisis, the whole world recognized us, so they want us to help them plan things efficiently. What should I tell them?"

Leo shook his head and replied, "These people are stupid, even if we help them plan it all, they will screw up in the end and then they will shove the blame on us. Why? Because they have nails stuck in their royal necks which is preventing them from bowing their heads in the acknowledgement of someone being better than them. You can send this answer to them Ma. Also, didn’t they all take a dig at Snow when the Marlin’s disowned her? Like hell I will go and help them gain favor of the world."

With that said Leo stood up from his spot and Lily said, "Baba, sit down."

Leo sighed and sat down, he knew that Anastasia and Snow must have discussed this thing with her before he came home, so that she can convince him if he does not agree to help the Grimm Family.

Lily said, "Everything aside, charity is a good deed. You can at least give these people a chance. After earning money from bad means, they must be suffering from bad karma effects. You should help them make the world a better place, and they came to you means they acknowledge you."

Leo sighed and he looked at the two ladies who turned their heads away. Leo looked at Lily and asked, "Do you want me to help them?"

The little girl nodded and Leo said, "Fine, Ma, if they want my help, then I demand the right of execution of the plan as well. I will not tolerate their slacky behavior or any damage to my plan because they are delusioned with supremacy syndrome."

Anastasia quickly nodded and said, "I will convey the demand to them."

Then Leo stood up and went to his bedroom to turn in for the day before he entered the virtual space to train.

The next day, Leo woke up and received a call from Markus. He picked up the phone and asked, "Yeah."

Markus said, "I have the person with me. She is a bit different and very anxious at the moment. You should come over as soon as possible."

Leo nodded and replied, "Fine, give me some time."

The call was disconnected and Leo got ready for the run, he was going to run through the city and head over to the so called holding facility. Just when he came out of the room, he found Lily standing their, the little girl was practicing her boxing stance and Leo smiled. He said, "Yo Champ! Wanna go?"

Lily smiled at him, and Leo noticed that one of her teeth was missing. He asked, "Where did this teeth go?"

Lily replied, "I was brushing when it came off, so I showed it to Grandma, she said we will keep it under my pillow for the tooth fairy to take it away and leave me a gift tonight."

Leo smiled and said, "Okay, and falling of a teeth means, my baby is growing."

Lily giggled and then the two went out of the house dressed in winter sportswear. Leo said, "Today we are heading a bit far, okay?"

Lily nodded and said, "The school has been closed because of the snowfall last night. Thankfully the sidewalks are clean."

The two of them began to run and a car of guards followed them slowly, driven by Zeenat, and Jock. The two people ran for twenty minutes, before Lily got tired and then Leo said, "How about you ride in the car? Baba, will sprint today."

Lily agreed obediently and when she sat down in the back of the car, she looked at Leo and said, "Can you dash at your fastest speed?"

Leo smiled and said, "Will you keep it a secret? I will follow the speed limit of the zone or you will try to keep up and get fined."

Lily nodded with sparkles in her eyes. She wanted to see how fast her Baba could go and when has Leo ever said no to Lily? He began to run through the streets and then they came onto big roads and Leo was still running at the speed stable at fifty kilometers per hour.

Zeenat and Jock were shocked to see this because even the fastest man on the planet could not run at this speed and for this duration. Jock mumbled, "Sir, has been sprinting at this speed for almost ten minutes now, that is almost equal to a half marathon distance."

Lily replied, "Baba is the fastest man alive when it comes to running now. Uncle Jock, Sis Zee, don’t tell anyone or they will capture Baba to experiment."

Her tone was calm and mature, and this time the two people agreed internally, ’Like father like daughter.’
