CHAPTER 302: STEFAN GRIMM.

The motorcade moved through the traffic and many people looked over to them. They had no idea what was going on but there were lots of people from the youth who took out their phones and recorded the scene to put it on the social media. After all, when did they come across such a dashing motorcade unless it was the government officials.

Leo looked at the situation and frowned a little before he sighed, "The youth of this country, it can seriously use some guidance."

Zeenat nodded and replied, "Indeed, the consumption of social media is ten times higher than the Clover Nation."

Leo raised his brow and mumbled, "Wow, such a good business opportunity."

Zeenat looked at him in curiosity, and asked, "What business?"

Leo shrugged and replied, "Expansion of the live streaming platform here, set up a separate branch and give them a purpose for using the social media."

Zeenat took a deep breath, she was surprised how his brain worked. Lily raised her head and looked at Leo and replied, "Baba, content screening should be stricter there. These people create just anything and everything these days."

Leo smiled and patted her head gently as he replied, "Yes."

Kyle spoke from the passenger seat, "Sir, we have reached the hotel."

Leo took a deep breath and then Kyle turned around to open the door from him. Leo got out of the car with Lily in his arms. He saw a cordone of guards around the place, creating a corridor leading him to the door of the hotel. Leo nodded and then he walked through the corridor with calm steps.

The entire scene was something that looked like something out of a movie. There were many people inside and outside the hotel who were watching it. Leo entered the hotel lobby and Zeenat took the lead to approach the reception counter. The staff checked the details quickly and then quickly waved at the ushers to grab the trolleys and move the luggage upstairs through a special elevator.

Leo turned to look around and his gaze stopped at a middle-aged man dressed in a dignified attire. The man had golden hair and brown eyes, he smiled and nodded to Leo as he stood up. The latter nodded and turned around to look at the Kyle before he whispered, "Invite them to the suite."

Kyle nodded and walked over to communicate with the people. He has been told by Snow to be servile before the guests, it was not because they were to humble themselves before the rest of the people, but because the way they behave will represent Leo and the Sigil carried by them all.

Kyle and the rest of the people understood this and assured her to follow the instruction to the t. As the guard handled the communication with the man, Leo waited patiently. Soon, Zeenat came over to his side, and asked, "Sir, this way."

Leo nodded to her faintly and then looked at Stefan who walked over with a smile. The middle-aged man extended his hand and said, "Greetings, Mister Cardinal."

Leo smiled as he extended his hand and replied, "Greetings, Baron Grimm."

Stefan chuckled and shook his head before he remarked, "In the modern world, these lofty titles hold no significance."

Leo smiled faintly and replied, "Come, let us continue in the suite. As you can see my daughter is a little tired from the flight."

Stefan nodded and agreed, Lily had buried her head in her father’s chest as if she was running away from the light around her. After a few minutes, the two people were sitting on the couch while Lily lay in Leo’s lap. Stefan looked at them and remarked, "It seems that your daughter is very attached to you."

Leo brushed her hair gently as he smiled and replied, "Well, she is a blessing so yes, we are close."

He paused for a second and then asked, "Tell me, how can I help you here?"

Stefan Grimm sighed and replied, "Mister Cardinal, over the years my family has tried to repent for the things my ancestors did in the past. However, the result hasn’t been very optimal. Initially things were fine but in the last five years, only twenty percent of the money that I have put into charitable organizations have moved through proper channels and used for what it was supposed to do. I have tried to look into these things but didn’t find anything substantial."

Leo nodded and after a few minutes of thinking, he said, "This might be a ploy by someone sitting in the position of power. Or, the people handling the money are corrupt."

Stefan Grimm sighed and said, "I have no idea."

Leo hummed and asked, "How much invested capital is accounted for?"

Stefan raised his brow and replied, "We have fifty percent of the money accounted for."

Leo replied, "We need to find the rest of the money, and the sources that are causing the blockage."

Stefan agreed with this and questioned, "How would you go about it?"

Leo smiled and quoted, "When in Rome, do it like the Romans."

Stefan frowned and Leo continued, "In every family their is a person who is very eager to gain power and status. You have that someone close to you, right?"

Stefan nodded, and Leo asked, "Did you investigate them?"

The noble shook his head and asked, "My family, why would they something like this?"

Lily sighed and sat up hearing this. She looked a the two men sitting across her father, and carefully adjusted her clothes and stood up before standing up and bowing to greet them. Stefan smiled and wanted to say something nice, when Lily said, "Elder, some desires extend beyond the lines of morality and corrupt the person."

Her simple remark shocked Stefan and Lily turned to look at Leo as she said, "Can I go and dine?"

Her mannerism had changed completely, and Leo nodded before looking at Zeenat. The latter led Lily out of the room. Leo smiled and said, "I apologize for her abrupt remark. However, she has spoken what I was thinking about. If you think I am making baseless accusations, then let me clarify that I stand to gain nothing from this. If you are hesitant to make an investigation then I can step up and make one for you. I assure you that it would not be tracked back to us."

Stefan thought for a few minutes, before he sighed and replied, "I have to understand that everyone is a human, and if we keep looking for trouble outside, then we will never know about the insides rotting."

Leo smiled and agreed, "That’s right. I will get to it after the meal, how about you join me for the breakfast?"

Stefan stood up and shook his head, as he said, "I had a meal before I came over. Plus, it was very impolite of me to come right after you have stepped out of the flight. I will leave you to your rest."

Leo stood up and shook hands with the man before politely seeing him to the door and making small talk, basically telling him to not worry and that he would handle it all. After Stefan left, Leo looked at Kyle and made a gesture toward the spot where the noble sat and Kyle understood.

After checking carefully, he didn’t find anything and said, "It’s clear, Sir."

Leo nodded and replied, "Well, investigate him and his entire family. Don’t even leave out the maids."

Kyle nodded and followed him to the dining room, where Lily was eating an egg french toast. The young man smiled and took a seat next to her as he also began to eat a toast. After eating Lily asked, "Do we have to meet such clueless men daily in this nation? I thought Ma praised the people for their intellect."

Leo chuckled and replied, "No, that man is just stressed and he will come around. Don’t worry."

Lily nodded and after eating the meal she said, "Since we have nothing else to do, can we go to sight see?"

Leo nodded and the two got ready for a day out.

Stefan was riding his car back to his mansion in the city, when his butler asked, "Sir, are you sure that we should allow him to look inside the family matters?"

Stefan sighed and replied, "He already has the basic clue on how it is. What more can be hidden? He didn’t gain a Sigil and a reputation of the biggest philanthropist in the Clover Nation by looking handsome and smily. He is a genius and Anastasia vouched for it. So, let him do what he can and see what the result is. Anything would be better than this humiliation in the circle."

The butler sighed and asked, "What would you do if it turns out that Master Jurel is the culprit?"

Stefan raised his brow and his calm aura turned into a sharp vibe as he said, "If that is the case, that I would not mind giving him the reality check. Why we are called Grimm."
