CHAPTER 311: FIRST MOVE.

Leo and Lily slept inside the hotel peacefully. In the morning the two of them had breakfast, and then they dressed up to go out and handle their own things. Leo had an appointment with Stefan Grimm, while Lily had put forward the proposal to visit the orphanages of the Crown City and see how things are done there.

Leo called Stefan and informed him about this matter, and the latter replied, "How about we handle the dirty work and let the ladies deal with the decoratives. I can send Margaret and Susan to accompany little Lily. They have taken a liking to the little girl and can show her around the place."

Leo hesitated, he looked at Lily who was listening to all this on the side. She nodded and Leo said, "Okay, then I will come over to your place and their the two elders can join Lily and go ahead. Also, Master Grimm, if you don’t mind, can I send my security personnel over to protect them?"

Stefan Grimm smiled and replied, "Although it has been a few decades since the nobles have gone out with a guard, you can indeed send them."

Leo sighed in some relief and nodded and replied, "Thank you."

Then he disconnected the call and said, "Kyle, you guys, everyone are to stay beside Lily throughout the day. I want at least one of you to be by her side at all times. If anyone tries anything, you can use heavy means if necessary. I don’t care."

The two people nodded and Kyle, said, "No worries Sir."

Leo held Lily in his arms and then they moved out of the room, and got in the car. Lily asked, "Baba, are you worried that someone will do something?"

Leo nodded and replied, "I have been feeling uneasy since last night. That Harry Shrine, I am not sure how far can he go to achieve his goals. Also, you didn’t spare him a single shred of dignity last night. How can a loser like him take that slap and sit still?"

The two of them discussed things as the motorcade moved.

In the study of the luxury mansion sat Harry Shrine with a cigar between his lips. His eyes showed signs of fatigue, he hadn’t slept all night, some part of the study was actually messed up from his thrashing session but now it was all calm, the storm has passed and Harry Shrine was calm. He said, "So, can you get it done on such a short notice?"

A voice sounded through speaker on the study table, "It will be done, we have the personnel in the city. This shouldn’t be too difficult. However, I hope that you understand, we need the money first."

Harry Shrine replied, "I will have it transacted in half an hour. I want this settled by the evening."

The person assured him and the call was disconnected.

Leo reached the mansion where Grimm family lived and on the gate he met Susan and Margaret with Stefan. The young man greeted them carefully before he said, "Madam Grimm, please look after her."

His voice was shivering, this surprised the three people. They realized Lily’s importance to Leo. Susan smiled and replied, "Don’t worry, we will be back by the evening."

Leo nodded in agreement. He cast a glance at Lily who smiled and said, "I will be fine. Don’t worry."

Leo patted her head and kissed her forehead before he looked at Kyle and said, "Be careful."

The man nodded and the three ladies and all the guards left the place. Stefan Grimm watched Leo looking at the convoy till it vanished, and he asked, "Master Cardinal, aren’t you worried a bit too much."

Leo shook his head and replied, "It is not baseless, I have investigated Harry Shrine before coming here. Some things about him are unclear and he is not a simple man."

Stefan realized that no matter what he said, it would not ease Leo’s stress. So he said, "Well, the fear of falling should not cause us to stumble."

Leo nodded and then the two of them moved through the walkway and went inside the mansion. This was the first time Leo came to the study room, he couldn’t help but praise the people for decoration. Stefan Grimm and he then began to discuss the various things they needed to handle the clean up and identify major players and causes.

Their actions have already alerted the people across the country, and many of them have begun to correct themselves. All this within twelve hours of the hospital crackdown, but there were still some people who didn’t care about it and wanted to get away with it.

Leo said, "The ones who wish to run away, they are the priority. The rest are already trying to make amends, and they can still be used to their best before they are disposed off."

Stefan Grimm nodded and Leo asked, "What about your third brother?"

Stefan shook his head and replied, "I have issued the orders, he has returned eighty percent of the embezzled fund and assets. The rest of the money went to his backer, and I am sure you would not be surprised who this man is."

Leo remarked, "Harry Shrine. Who else would have this kind of influence? He was your brother’s classmate, and also his business partner. He trapped your brother in the guise of business debt and then pushed him to embezzle and revolt."

Stefan Grimm nodded and then said, "So, shouldn’t we handle this Shrine brat first?"

Leo shook his head and replied, "That is not feasible. I looked into him, no trace. Seemingly the funds vanished in thin air."

Lily sat between Susan and Margaret. The latter asked, "Lily, is your father always like this?"

Lily smiled and shook her head as she spoke, "He is rather calm, but last night Mister Shrine had a tussle with me, and given his hatred for Ma and Baba. It is not sure what that man might do in a fit of madness."

Margaret replied with a thoughtful expression, "I have heard that Harry Shrine is very shrewd and even if he gets angry it doesn’t show. I don’t think he has the guts to do something, he is not that mad."

Lily shook her head while calmly gazing ahead, "He is someone who values his face over anything. He wouldn’t mind pulling off something petty to get what he wants. Also, big sister, human heart is like a pendulum, we all feel angry at times, but when someone is unable to swing back from anger, that is when they are called mad. Harry Shrine has long lost his sanity otherwise do you think he would have created such troubles?"

Just when she finished speaking, they suddenly heard a loud crashing sound from the side. The two ladies were startled, and Kyle said, "We are under attack. Young Miss, stay still."

As soon as he said this, they heard a loud crash from the back. Zeenat looked in the rear view mirror and said, "Fuck, we are being boxed. They have taken out the two cars!"

Margaret panicked, and asked, "What can we do? Kyle, hurry up and drive to a police station. Who are these people?!"

Susan was frozen stiff from fright. Zeenat turned back to check and found that Lily was calm, and indifferent to a point. The little girl looked at Margaret and said, "Big sister calm down. Take out your phone and call your father."

Then she looked at Kyle and said, "Uncle Kyle, how many vehicles do they have?"

Kyle was focused on driving as the vehicle in front of him was trying to block him. Zeenat replied, "Two armored cars."

Margaret said, "There is no coverage."

Lily frowned and said, "They must be blocking it like the movies. Uncle Kyle, can you try to trick that guy ahead. Our vehicle is lighter and we should be able to pass him."

Kyle nodded and followed her instruction, he drove up to the car before them, pretended to pass from the right and suddenly passed from the left. They were riding in a sedan called Royal Chariot. It was bullet proof but it was still lighten than the armored SUVs.

Lily was able to calculate all this because of the skill Leo had passed her. She was not entirely calm, if someone was to pay attention they would notice that her hands were shivering and sweating.

As they passed through the armored vehicle, Kyle cursed, "Shit, the signal is red."

Lily replied, "This is a keep left drive system. Turn left ahead, and stay on the outside."

Kyle did as he was told, Lily’s brain was working super fast, and this shocked all the four people. However, her commands were working and they were calming down. Zeenat said, "Returning to the Grimm Manor is too long of a journey from here. Where should we go?"

Lily replied instantly, "Head to the Clover Nation Embassy, and Sister Zeenat, prepare to show them your passport to allow us entry."

Zeenat nodded and Kyle drove fast. They were checking the mirror, and indeed the cars were tailing them, and after a few minutes, Lily said, "Take a detour. They must have calculated our route and if they have any reinforcements, we would be cornered."

Just as Kyle made a move, Zeenat noticed something and said, "Indeed, another armored vehicle just joined the pursuit."

She reached out to open the dashboard and fished out a bulky device, and then made a call from it. The call connected in a jiffy, and she said, "Boss, this is Zeenat, we have Young Miss on board and we have been attacked. Two SUVs were taken out. No, they are still pursuing."

At this moment, everyone heard a strong sound as if it started raining. Kyle suddenly swayed the car on the road, and said, "They are firing at us."

The rear glass of the car had turned milky white from the impact of bullets. Lily said, "Uncle Kyle are we too far?"

Kyle was about to reply when the rear window shattered, and the two ladies screamed. Zeenat yelled, "Keep your head down!"

Kyle floored the gas pedal and he said, "We are here, just hundred meters."

Zeenat suddenly noticed that Lily had fainted and her nose was bleeding. She panicked and yelled, "Young Miss! Kyle, hurry up!"
