ALPHA’S REGRET: FALSE MATE, TRUE LUNA
TRUE 28
er that day, I never contacted bFerris /bagain.
I was busy with handover work at the medical center and handling engagement–rted matters.
Meanwhileb, /bFerris seemed somewhat brestless/bb. /b
When bhe /bopened WhatsAppb, /bhis gaze suddenly stopped on my conversation boxb. /b
He just noticed that thest message bI /bsent was on the 8th ofst month.
I had asked if he woulde home on the weekend.
He hadn’t replied.
Until bnow/bb, /bI hadn’t sent him another message.
Ferris let out a coldugh and closed his phone.
He thought to himself: Aurora really can keep herposure.
She used to be so soft–hearted–even when angryb, /bshe wouldn’t even need him to coax her before obedientlying back to apologize to him first.
Nowb… /bshe seemed to have changed.
bAt /bdusk, Ferris finished work and drove to the medical center.
Passing by my office, he paused for a moment.
He told himself he was just here to find Ashley and had identally passed by Aurora’s office.
That bwas /ball.
‘Alpha Ferris, are you here to see Dr. Windsor?” a passing nurse asked casually.
Ferris replied calmly: “I have matters to discuss with Dr. Windsor.”
‘Dr. Windsor has already left.”
He turned his head, lowering his voice to repeat: “She’s already left?”
After receiving the nurse’s confirmation, he frowned.
He knew I never left work early.
b“/bbFerris/bb!/bb” /b
At that moment, Ashley ran toward him with a bright smile: b“/bIs the meeting overb?/bb” /b
Ferris responded with a soft sound.
Ashley nced at my tightly closed office door and grabbed Ferris’s arm: “You went the wrong way! My office isn’t hereb!/bb” /b
Ferris felt inexplicably ufortable. He quietly withdrew his hand and asked: “Haven’t you finished work yet?”
“Almost.” Ashley moved closer to him, appearing to others like a sweet couple. b“/bbBy /bthe way, will you have dinner with meter?”
Just as Ferris was about to speak, he suddenly received a mindlink.
Sensing me calling bto /bhim, he imperceptibly curled bhis /bblip /band stepped aside to respond to my connection.
“Have you thought it throughb? /bReady bto /bapologizeb?/bb” /b
bApologize/b…
I put away my smile, tightly gripping the property division agreement I had prepared.
I couldn’t wait for the divorce agreement to take effect anymore. I nned to directly confront Ferris and get him to sign the property division papers to elerate the divorce bprocess/b.
bTo /bleave this ce as soon as possible, I chose to leave with nothing.
I tried to make my voice sound calm: “Will youe home tonightb?/bb” /b
“Ferris, who’s contacting youb?/bb” /b
I clearly heard Ashley’s sweet voiceb. /b
“Work matterb./bb” /b
Ferris exined carelessly, not caring that our link was still active, saying to Ashley: “What time do you get off work? I’ve already booked a restaurant.”
Ashley smiled even more happily: “I’m off work, I’ve been waiting for you.”
When I came back to my sensesb, /bFerris had already hung up.
I looked somewhat mncholically at the property division agreement I had already signed.
I had originally nned to ask him toe home to sign it, but he didn’t even have the patience to listen.
This was truly absurd.
