ALPHA’S REGRET: FALSE MATE, TRUE LUNA
TRUE 313
Chapter b313 /b
Helena stood up to follow, but Dennis stopped her: “Helena, wait here for me toe back.”
His voice was gentle. With Victoria present, Helena couldn’t refuse without seeming rude.
But resentment churned inside her. She was about to be his fiancée, yet she wasn’t the one receiving his care.
After Dennis left, she dug her nails deep into her palms.
Outside, the wind and snow were indeed fierce in the pitch–ck night.
I thought Dennis would only walk me to the door, so bI /bdidn’t refuse. I clutched ferris’s coat as we moved forward, but my vision grew increasingly blurry for some reason. Even the path became hard to see.
Knowing Dennis was following behind us, Ferris grabbed my hand. His touch was warm.
bI /bsnapped awake and tried to pull away, but Ferris tightened his grip. He called back to Dennis:
“This is far enough. Instead of putting effort into this kind of thing, you’d better focus on managing the wolf pack.”
Dennis’s steps faltered. He immediately caught the underlying meaning.
Ferris had discovered he’d drugged me.
No wonder there’d been no reaction until now. Unwilling to back down, Dennis shot back sarcastically: “You’re wrong about that. What’s wrong with putting effort into something that rightfully belongs to me?”
Tension crackled between the two men.
Still not fully conscious, I didn’t notice.
I was utterly exhausted. My eyelids felt heavy as lead, and I couldn’t hold myself up anymore. I leaned against Ferris.
Ferris swept me into his arms. I rested against his broad back and fell asleep despite myself. In my dreams, my whole body felt like it was burning–the difort was unbearable.
Seeing I was asleep, Dennis stopped ying games with Ferris: “You should return Aurora to me now.”
“She doesn’t love you at all.”
Ferris couldn’t help but smile: “What does it matter if she doesn’t love me? I’m her mate. If you want to me someone, me yourself for impersonating me back then.”
Before leaving, he warned Dennis: “Use these underhanded tactics again, and don’t me me for not ying nice.”
Dennis watched him carry me away, his gentle expression vanishingpletely.
Just as he was about to head back, he spotted Helena standing not far behind m.
Dennis’s expression shifted instantly: “Helena, were you here the whole time
Helena looked puzzled: “No, I just arrived. Is something wrong?”
Dennis didn’t press further, saying coldly: “It’s nothing. I’ll walk you back.”
But Helena suddenly wrapped her arms around him from the front.
“Dennis, we’re getting engaged soon. Let me sleep with you tonight.”

bDennis /bgently pulled her hands away. “Helena, I want to save the best for our wedding day.
Helena hadn’t expected to encounter such a conservative man in this world. Her hands fell stiffly to her sides, though her heart soared: “Alright.”
Meanwhile, my whole body felt feverish
I was always cold, so what was happening tonight?
“So hot.”
I clutched Ferris’s clothes, murmuring.
Ferris had already gotten bme /binto the car and was driving toward the hospital
He teased deliberately: “Do you have a fever?”
He reached toward my forehead. It wasn’t burning, just warm.
Then his slender fingers moved to my cheek, which was scorching hot.
I shook my head and pressed my face against his hand–it brought some relief I don’t know. Let’s go back quickly. I’m so tired.”
“Okay.”
Ferris’s voice sounded hoarse.
I felt terrible. The doctor had said one small ss of fruit wine wouldn’t hurt, but today I felt particrly awful–drowsy and feverish.
“Ferris, where are we going? I think I’m getting carsick”
“Lean against me and sleep. The nausea will pass.” Ferris coaxed her gently.
Irested against his shoulder and closed my eyes.
With the close proximity, Ferris could smell the faint, sweet fragrance from my body.
His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he fought to suppress the stirring in his heart.
