Chapter b328 /b

    Aurora’s POV

Silver Moon Pack was nketed in white, with thick ic covering the river–like time itself had frozen.

I leaned against the chair back, looking out the window. The car’s heater was running, fogging up the ss and making the outside scenery blurry.

I withdrew my gaze and looked down at the return gift in myp. After hesitating, I reached out to see what was inside.

I took out an exquisite small box, only palm–sized, from the bag. My fingertips trembled slightly as I opened the sp.

The moment the box opened, my breath caught.

Insidey a silver ring quietly–not ornate in craftsmanship, but clean and simple. The engravings on it made my heart tremble–it was the name initials I had carved myself as a child.

This ring was originally part of a pair.

One for me, one for Dennis.

    Memory suddenly ovepped with reality.

When I married Ferris, I had asked him where the ring was.

But he had coldly replied: “What ring?b” /b

I thought the ring was lost then.

But now I understood–I had mistaken him for someone else.

My fingertips gently traced the engravings on the ring. My heart felt like it was being pricked by needles. I gripped the ring tightly, the cold metal surface pressing deep into my palm as guilt washed over me.

I took out my phone and typed on the screen: “Okay.”

After hesitating, I continued typing: “I saw the return gift. I’m really sorry–I mistook you for someone else. Let’s just be friends from now on. If there’s anything I can help with, please don’t hesitate to ask.”

Since Dennis had even returned the ring to me, he probably wanted topletely forget the past.

I should be sensible and let go too.

Soon, a line appeared on the screen: “Okay.”

I stared at that word for a long time before finally closing my phone.

I thought this was just my small actionb, /bbut I didn’t realize Ferris beside me had seen everything.

He didn’t ask anything, just waited quietly.

After waiting a long time, he still didn’t hear me speak.

When the car stopped, his brows furrowed slightly.

When I got out and looked back to see him still sitting in the car, I asked: “Why aren’t you getting out?”

“There’s something at thepany that needs my attention.” Ferris’s voice was low.

“Alright, I’ll go back first then.”

I got out with the return gift.

After returning, I nned to gather this pair of rings and throw them awaypletely.

Let the past stay buried in the past.

The sound of the car door closing behind me was soft.

I didn’t see that after I turned and left, Ferris instructed Simon: “Come here.” He then checked the car’s video footage. Simon told him: “Madam took out a box in the car with a ring inside.”

Ferris hadn’t expected the return gift to contain a ring.

    “Nothing else?”

“Then she replied to a text message.”

    “To whom?”

Simon was a bit embarrassed–the car had video recording, but it didn’t capture the phone screen.

bHe /bonly guessed it was a reply based on her movements.
